Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
In addition to the reboot and listed changes, general consensus is it will be easier to balance and foster a metagame if Crossover Chaos becomes a mircrometa that introduces existing Pokemon periodically. If this change is approved, existing Pokemon will likely be added in the Discussion phases to fill in gaps and roles that are missing.
Pet Mod Name: Crossover Chaos Expanded Pet Mod Concept: As the name implies, it expands upon Crossover Chaos by including characters who debuted in works of fiction apart from video games. Explanation: The rules and submission process are identical to those of regular Crossover Chaos. Ideally, it will result in a standalone micrometa in which the standard roster will be assimilated to make a separate "double micrometa." (or perhaps you could call it a millimeta) Miscellaneous: Pika Xreme has departed, and it stands to reason that I've been the most avid contributor (for better or worse), so I figure, "Why not take up the torch?"
Pet Mod Name: The Chess Dex Pet Mod Concept: A micrometa focusing on in-battle skill as opposed to team-building, with only six available Pokemon and the removal of luck-based mechanics. Explanation: There will only be six Pokemon available. Only signature items will be available (one per Pokemon). Pokemon will learn 1 to 4 viable moves. Changing Pokemon's EVs and IVs will not be allowed by teambuilder validator. This means the players will have "the same pieces" like in chess (the same Pokemon with the same items). Additionally, critical hits, luck-based secondary effects and abilities are completely removed from the metagame. As for Speed ties, whoever wins the first speed tie will lose the second once, and so on, like white pieces moving first in chess. Miscellaneous: The six Pokemon will be decided by the community one by one. There will be no rules in regards to their roles. If the community decides on adding 6 stall or 6 hyper-offense Pokemon, so be it.
There are six types of chess pieces (Pawn, Knight, Bishop, Rook, Queen, King) but submissions won't need to match chess pieces. For example, there won't be a rule forcing "a weak mon" or "a mon with Slow Start" to represent a Pawn. Also, losing your "King" will not count as an instant loss.
The micrometa will be open to any mechanics such as Megas, Z-Moves, Ultra Burst, Dynamax and Terastal. However, the mechanics will be Pokemon-locked (If somebody submits a Rook that can Dynamax, other pieces won't be able to Dynamax, only the Rook will). As for mechanics that you can pick on the teambuilder such as picking Dynamax vs Gigantamax, picking different Tera types, picking non-signature Z-Crystals, and picking X and Y Megas, those are all banned. Remember, the players will have "the same pieces."
Pet Mod Name: Signature Typo Pet Mod Concept: A micrometa inspired by Abilitypos, where moves will be mistyped and changed into a signature move for a pre existing mon. Miscellaneous: BST will be moved to around 570 BST, modifiable if Abilities/Movepool are weak/OP. There would be no limitation but the power regulation.

Competitive: A huge breaker, lacks coverage
Pet Mod Name: Centralize Pet Mod Concept: My idea is an RU metagame, where the community will vote to drop things from upper tiers. Explanation: Would work like Bangammers, room tours regularly and depending of the rank, you can vote to drop. The winner earns 4, the runner-up 2 and all players can vote once. They PM an administrator and the thing that got voted the most would be allowed in the format.
Pet Mod Name: Transmutations Pet Mod Concept: An OU-based meta with incorporates parts of fusions, banhammers and breeding variants to create a distinct metagame. Explanation: Each slate, different transmutations are subbed for people to vote on. The mechanics of the transmutations are included below, but the core outcome of a transmutation is that one Pokemon is buffed at the cost of two other Pokemon being removed from the tier. Additionally, previously created transmutations can be used as components in later slates.
The transmutation take two Pokemon as components to buff another Pokemon. A winning transmutation will REMOVE these two component Pokemon from the tier. When buffing a Pokemon, there are a few rules, as the Pokemon being buffed:
cannot share a type with either fusion component
cannot share an ability with either fusion component
must have a similar (+/-10) BST to the average of the two components (round down)
When fusing two Pokemon together, the buffed Pokemon gets:
a new ability (this becomes its ONLY ability)
+10% of the average BST of the components added to its BST to all stats (round down)
up to 4 moves from the components (can be 2:2, 4:0 or anything in between)
My buffed Pokemon must have between 539 and 559 BST and cannot be Rock, Ice or Dragon. This means, given that it is an OU mod, my options are: and .
Resulting Pokemon:
Ability: Purifying Salt
Stats: 78/65/68/112/154/75 [552] --> 88/77/79/118/164/81 [607]
New Moves: Ice Beam / Salt Cure, Stealth Rock, Earth Power
So if this fusion wins, and are removed from the tier. This means not only are they not legal in teambuilidng, they cannot be used for fusions again (they have been transmuted). This buffed Florges also replaces the existing Florges in the tier.
BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE!!
The fused Pokemon can then be used as a fusion component in a later fusion in the mod.
88/77/79/118/164/81
60/79/92/52/86/35
Averages: 74 HP / 78 Atk / 85 Def / 85 SpA / 125 SpD / 58 Spe [505 BST]
10%: 7 HP / 7 Atk / 8 Def / 8 SpA / 12 SpD / 5 Spe
Again, the Pokemon that is buffed must have between 495-515 BST and cannot be a Fairy or Bug type.
Resulting Pokemon: :cryogonal
Ability: Purifying Salt
Stats: 80/50/50/95/135/105 --> 87 HP / 57 Atk / 58 Def / 103 SpA / 147 SpD / 110 Spe
New Moves: Salt Cure, Stealth Rock, Earth Power / First Impression
So at this point, our meta has a buffed Cryogonal at the cost of losing Garganacl, Florges, Baxcalibur and Spidops. The Cryogonal could also be used down the road in another fusion (maybe that's why the submitter held on to First Impression?!)
I have seen so many people ask mods in CAP: “Can I show you my fakemon for CAP?” This is a pet mod for that desire! It will be a micrometa consisting of roughly 50 fakemon. The goal of this meta is to honestly be creative! Another thing is that I’m trying to keep the power level towards OU, so no box art legendaries
Slate 1 will be submitting Fakemon ideas, can be art, concepts for design and flavor, can even include movepools, stats, abilities, and sets. The goal is to accept most Fakemon without debate in this stage (unless it’s obviously broken). To make it less chaotic, each user can submit one “blank slate” pokemon, all this mon needs is a name/design/design, competitive concept, every other submission needs to be fully fleshed (one of the blank Slate requirements, typing, movepool, stats, abilities)
Slate 2+ will be assessing each fakemon individually and adjusting to make it more balanced for the meta. After ten slates, we will (de)buff pokemon as we see fit. This process will repeat till we have a full metagame
Miscellaneous: I’m pretty sure I’ll be the only council member but if someone REALLY wants to be one, just ask!
Bigger Unova
Concept: Nat Dex OU-based mod with only Unova mons
Explanation: In theory, it’s Modern Gen 5, but it has access to every move, ability, and item (including mega stones and z crystals). Every fully evolved mon in the BW Unova Dex (+Kyreum and Mythicals) will be included. Every Slate, 3 Pokémon will be selected and assessed. Types of Pokémon, Abilities, and move sets CAN be altered, and because it’s NatDex and there’s a wide array of these, no new moves or abilities can be created, but new megas, z-signatures, and GMAX forms will be created (if appropriate, so no Mega Ferrothron, and Mega Audino and GMAX Garboader will stay)
Pet Mod Name: Roulettemons 2 Pet Mod Concept: A micrometa comprised of 50 randomly-generated Fakemon. Explanation: First of all, check out this spreadsheet. If you want to generate Pokemon of your own you'll need to go to File -> Make a Copy -> just press the Delete key in any empty space.
Every slate, 5 Fakemon will be generated. There will be a brief period to discuss these 5 Fakemon and how they would impact the meta. A voting period will then take place where you get to vote "yes" or "no" for each of the 5. All of the Fakemon that get "yes" for over 60% of their votes will be added to the metagame. The first slate will be similar except there will be 10 to choose from to start the meta out and define a power level.
Miscellaneous: (this part's mostly for people who aren't familiar with gen 8's but does include some new stuff)
- Each Pokemon learns 20 moves marked as "viable" and 20 moves marked as "usually useless" by Showdown. There may be some inaccuracies here either from times changing or me making a mistake when adding Gen 9 stuff. Last Respects and Wonder Guard are not in the rotation because any Pokemon that have either are practically guaranteed to be broken. Everything else is fair game.
- Each Pokemon can have 2 or 3 abilities. There's a 66% chance it'll have three. If a Pokemon has the same ability in multiple spots, it will be ignored. A pokemon had Pressure / --- / Pressure in last gen's, and it just had Pressure once.
- Pokemon will automatically learn two moves to match each of their type, plus all of the universally-learned moves. Notably, Toxic is no longer counted as universal.
- If a Pokemon ends up being too underpowered, there will be a slate for it to get a Mega Evolution, also determined by the generator. Slates will work similar otherwise but the one with the most votes will win.
- This mod will be completely unrelated to Gen 8's.
- Tera's banned lmao
- Anyone can sprite something for this mod, but because of the high demand that's happened before, you will need to reserve a sprite for a Pokemon. If you've stopped making progress for 7 days or haven't outright finished the sprite in 14 weeks, the sprite will go back up for reservation.
So this Idea has been popping up in my head for quite a while now. I always wanted an LC mod and i think making a mod based on making pre evolutions is a really good way to do this. So the rules are very simple:
The Pokémon chosen to have pre-evolutions must not have pre-evolutions nor evolutions.
The pre-evolution can't have a completely different typing from the evolution. Typing shouldn't differ too much. Types should be or removed (Bug-type Nymble and Bug/Dark-type Lokix ) or should stay the same. ( and ) Exceptions can be made, like how it happens on the Onix line, but it almost always happens like this.
Slates will be chosen until we reach a good amount of new LC mons.
Yes, we will have a council but i'll start simple.
Moretto Necrozmancer2
Looking at some of the new Pokemon, the stuff they bring to the meta are quite insane: Gholdengo's Good as Gold, Maushold's Population Bomb, and almost every new signature introduced! What if Kanto Pokemon were given this treatment? In this Pet Mod, we will redesign the competitive functions of the Kantonian Pokemon after a Paldean counterpart.
Slates:
Every slate, 3 or 4 Kanto Pokemon are chosen with Paldean counterparts for each
Every Kanto Pokemon will have a ruleset on what its signatures can be based on its counterpart; this affects typing and the overall viability of the move or ability
One submission per Kanto Pokemon will be added per slate by normal voting rules
Submissions:
Anything about the Kanto Pokemon can be changed (except in the case of starters and other special Pokemon)! However, you must still keep in mind the flavor of the original Pokemon when both making the signature and adjusting everything else about the Pokemon
If a Gen 9 signature is slated, you may just give the Kanto Pokemon the signature unchanged (ex. Giving Charizard Torch Song)
You may NOT use signature abilities from Gen 9 that are not slated (ex. Giving Charizard Flower Trick along with whatever other signature)
If the Kanto and Paldea Pokemon have a different length of evolutionary line (ex. Slowbro and Tatsugiri), you may use any member of the evolution family
Designing the pre-evolutions are optional. If you do not do it, the council will
Submissions for a single Pokemon might look like:
--->
Must have exactly ONE Fire-type custom move (about as strong as Fire Lash, Apple Acid)
Döppelgangers
Have you always lost to a certain Pokemon no matter what you try to counter it with? Does your team need help with a Pokemon with a variety of sets? Well, in Döppelgangers, a shiny version of a Pokemon isnt's just a shiny. It's a counter! A non-shiny Rillaboom would still be the same Grassy-Gliding terror, but a shiny Rillaboom would be more like a Corviknight: a normal Rillaboom wouldn't stand a chance against it!
Rules:
1. All Döppelgangers must have the same BST as their original forms
2. Type changes are allowed
3. Calculations are required in a submission, or will be vetoed
4. Shiny-locking will be ignored (Shiny Victini is illegal but would still have a Döppelganger, Pikachu can not be shiny to know Sing but its Döppelganger would still be able to learn Sing if not removed)
5. Only post Döppelgangers for Pokemon that we are doing the slate for

Note: These self voting rules and the explanation are from good user lyd, slightly adapted to fit this pet mod
If you want to vote for yourself now, it gets slightly more complicated. You can always keep voting for yourself as second, but you can change the order a bit, for as long as the number of self-votes equals 2x the number of submissions you made. Let's use some examples to make it more understandable:
So this voting format is good, cuz' Lyd voted for himself as second three times, and when you add everything up, he gave himself 6 votes, which is fine, as it is exactly the number of submissions he made for the slate x2. However, say he liked his Stallbreaker submission a lot, and he really wants it to win, he can play around with his votes a little bit:
So to make his Stallbreaker first vote, he moved his Defensive Pivot self-vote to last. Makes sense, right? And when you add up the votes, 3 + 2 + 1 = 6 which is exactly what he wants. Let's say that he likes his Special Wall and Defensive Pivot submissions more, and he didn't like his Stallbreaker submission too much. He can do this:
3 + 3 adds up to six, so he's good to that. Small note that this can't be done if he made no Stallbreaker submission because if that was the case, the number of submissions he made x2 would actually end up as 4, which isn't enough. Also, had he only made a single submission, he'd always have to self-vote as #2 or lower because making only one submission gives him only two self-vote points. We hope that was clear, if you had any trouble to understand this, feel free to PM anyone from the council and we'll explain it as best as we can.
This was all taken from EeveeGirl1380 so shoutout to them
Going to be resubbing another successful Gen 8 mod.
Pet Mod Name: Fakemon Frontier Pet Mod Concept: A few metagames made of several Fakemon submitted with restrictions on some of their attributes. Explanation: I feel like the best way to explain is with the example I used last generation. In any given slate, there will be three groups of four "restrictions" like below...
You must build Fakemon pulling from two of these four restrictions in any given group. The idea is to build a good sub within these limitations. With the above example, you can do things like making a Dragon/Fairy that uses Poison Heal in place of recovery, a Normal-type wallbreaker with Guts and Cross Chop along those stats, a fast Steel/Fairy pivot based around those stats backed by good bulk and utility, and so on. Might sound like you have a lot of options, but things do get more difficult as time passes, a metagame begins to form, and you now need to build something within these confines that also happens to fit a much more specific role (like for last gen, I made Fluidrake while thinking "how do I make this check Cellsius").
There will be a few differences between this and how the mod worked last gen but most of them aren't really relevant, minus two exceptions. The first is that tera is gone (lmao get bodied). The second and more obvious is that we're going to have a big tiering rung in place. Depending on how the meta's looking after a certain point, we're going to finish off Fakemon Frontier OU with somewhere between 45 and 60 Fakemon. After some playtesting, we'll have a final viability rankings. Fakemon below a certain rank (like B+ or something) will drop to Fakemon Frontier UU. Rinse and repeat the cycle until we have around that amount in UU, then drop the stuff below that rank to RU.
Otherwise, council will just be myself and Mossy Sandwich for the time being. No custom elements will be allowed. Tiers will go from OU-PU and then stop, and each will get its own thread similar to how FE had it last gen. Everything else that applied with Gen 8 Restrictions would apply here as well.
Pet Mod Name: [Gen 9] Fusion Evolution OU Pet Mod Concept: Users submit fusions of two Pokémon, mixing various attributes from either into one new mon. This brand new metagame is self-contained, meaning only the fusions can be used.
- The fusion inherits one type from each parent. So, for an example, a fusion between Kilowattrel and Togedemaru could be any of Electric / Flying, Electric / Steel, Flying / Steel or Pure Electric.
- To get the stats of the Fusion, you simply average the stats of both Pokemon, rounded down. Then, you may have a total of up to +20 to add to its bst. However, this aditional +20 is opitional.
- The ability should be a mix of the effects of one of each of the abilities that the parents have. In our Kilowattrel/Togedemaru example, you would choose one of Wind Power/Volt Absorb/Competitive and mix its effects with one of Iron Barbs/Lightning Rod/Sturdy. You can also just make it an ability that has the same effect as two other abilities, similar to As One.
- If both of the abilities fused have the same effect (Say, I fuse Technician Cinccino with Technician Scizor), or if one of the used abilities is Run Away, Honey Gather, Ball Fetch or Illuminate, you gain an aditional +20 to freely distribute in stats (with a cap of +20 in a single stat). If two abilities with no in-battle effects are fused, the boost is instead +30. These boosts are entirely opitional and you don't have to use the full stat boosts.
- The fusion gets the movepool of both parents. The movepool used to determine this is the most recently available movepool for each parent, in the priority of SV > SwSh > BDSP > USUM. If a Pokémon recieves a movepool change mid gen, the fusion will be adjusted accordingly.
Fusion Evolution OU also already has a council planned.
I'm not very professional, so I will need a council to help out with Programming or other things, but without further ado... Pet mod Name: Kalos Kaizo Pet Mod Concept: A Gen 6 Meta game that will add and change moves, items, and abilities ala Joltemons. Pokemon can also be given adjustments, often times even stat adjustments! Explanation: This pet mod will be taking place in XY's OU meta, and will be tweaking mons to a certain degree as if we were looking at an alternate Universe where XY"s meta was different. We plan to have 6 or 8 slates, and winners can be nerfed or buffed if they end up being overwhelming or underwhelming. So take my hand, and jump into this alternate Metagame and let the Chaos commence!
A return from last generation, Multiverse goes from generation to generation, taking Pokémon introduced from that generation, selecting a niche they served from any generation, and changing its stats, moves, abilities, and sometimes even types in order to serve that niche in a micrometa with a power level around that of the most modern generation’s OU (in this case, gen 9).
Most slates will let people take up to 7 Pokémon from a generation for people to submit, and 7 Pokémon total will be approved at the end of each slate. The voting system will resemble the one from last generation, but adapted to vote for only 7 submissions after 8. When it comes to the submissions themselves, you’re modifying a Pokémon from the generation that you’re getting its niche from (for example, unless you explicitly change it, a Gardevoir from a DPPt metagame, such as DP UU Calm Mind Sweeper, will be expected to only be Psychic type, and have its stats, movepool, and abilities be from its Gen 4 iteration). Submitters should aim to specialize a Pokémon’s to better use its pre-existing niche while keeping the general essence of the base Pokémon in mind.

Pet Mod name: Periodex Table Pet Mod Concept: We will create a micrometa by filling a "periodic table" of Pokemon, where Pokemon that share a column or row share some properties. Miscellaneous: I'd like to clarify that the information here is taken from the visual chart below, so if you just want a resume of the whole information, I recommend you to check it out.
1) Slates:
- In the first few slates, we'll set the primary types and the signature moves for each row and column.
- If two subs win for the same column or row, but one has a different primary type/ability, then the one with fewer votes is getting voided.
2) Submissions:
- Rows share the same signature abilities, whereas columns share the same types. - You can change the pokemon's secondary type, and stats.
- You cannot change the pokemon's primary type nor its BST.
3) Special Cases:
- Noble Gases and Alkali Metals get a signature move that they share among themselves - Actinides and Lanthanides ignore the type restriction, but instead, their stats have to add up to 450 BST (not more, not less), then after the submission phase (before the voting's phase), +100 BST is added randomly to their stats (40 max on each stat).
- Transition Metals don't get the signature ability of that row (ej.: row 4 gets a signature ability, whereas a transition metal like iron wouldn't get it.
Format of the micrometagame: Scarlet and Violet.

There are more than 1000 Pokémon in the Pokémon series. Some are consistently good, like the ever-dominating Landorus-Therian, Heatran and Toxapex, but other Pokémon, like Spidops, are really bad, even if they have a neat concept.
This Pet Mod attempts to change this by creating a fresh format where Pokémon are made better and coexist in a micrometa, but they will still loosely follow their original competitive niches and concepts.
The slates will feature Pokémon and restrictions, that the submitters will have to follow when they submit the Pokémon.
Example Restrictions:
Veluza:
The Pokémon needs to be
-type.
The Pokémon needs to have Fillet Away
The Pokémon needs to have Sharpness.
The Pokémon's Speed can't be changed.
The submitter will have to follow all of the four restrictions and make their submission. Here's an example:
Pokémon: Veluza Types:
/
Abilities: Mold Breaker / Sharpness Stats: 90 / 88 / 75 / 102 / 75 / 70 Move Changes: +Moonblast, Scald, Calm Mind, Dazzling Gleam Description: Special Fillet Away user with a better typing.
This one follows all the Restrictions and still does significant changes for the mon.
Outside of this, the metagame will start fresh. No Pokémon used in Gen 8 MetaMons will be featured (You won't have to check Sylveon anymore!) and Tera will start legal.
Council: The council will be new and decided later.

Pet Mod Name: Branched Potential v3 Pet Mod Concept: I'm taking over from last gen; here's the old forum thread Explanation: Same as above, no notable changes barring council which is in the hide tag and voting moving to M4A's style (example here). Oh and Tera is legal at the start obviously.
Exotic Fighters (gonna work on that)
This PetMod creates Pokemon, Regional Forms, Regional Evolutions and/or Convergent Evolutions based on Biomes, Places, Structures and Dimensions submitted a slate before
This mod works by having a slate that introduces an environment that can be inhabited by Pokemon. These Pokemon can be regional forms, regional evolutions, convergent evolutions or entirely new Pokemon designed for these environment. This Pokemon will not only take competitive in consideration but will also be a flavor-heavy mod, so every Pokemon will feel like it's a part of the mod.
Environments:
The environments can be based on places in the Pokemon world, places in other works of fiction or the environment can be created by the submitters pure imagination. It is important that the environment can not only be inhabited by Pokemon, but that they can be or have been inhabited by humans. That means, that the environment has to have lore that allows a variety of Pokemon to be submitted. The environment will be the most important part of the creation process here, since only one submitter can win at a time while the Pokemon can be from various submitters.
Name: Inspiration: Lore: Pokemon that can habit: (can be Pokemon themselves or a niche that a Pokemon can have, like Thick Fur to withstand the sheer cold of the place for example)
Pokemon:
The submitters must take the environment into consideration while making a Pokemon. Their typing and role will be hugely depend on the environment that was set. The idea is that they fit the environment and work with each other in dynamics like prey and predator or symbiotic relationships. Submitters can do collaboration with other submitters. It is a bit hard to explain the process for making a Pokemon, so I will show it with an example. One thing is that existing Pokemon are not allowed in the mod. You can include them in the environments lore but they cannot be submitted to be a part of a mod.

Since I've been watching a lot of Avater: The Last Airbender recently, I really grew to love the concept of the different Air Temples. I really enjoy the Western Air Temple, therefore I will base my environment on that.
Here we have the Upside Down Ruins!
There once were the Meditation Temples. The Meditation Temples were build with the intent to help people with their mental issues (like psychologists today) and to interact with spirits and ghosts. A certain meditation method was developed, so that people can interact with souls of the ones that passed away and to keep evil spirits and evil ghosts away. This method was used to keep the temples safe. The temples were not only home to humans but also Pokemon. Rodents, Birds and larger sized Pokemon like , with some other miscellaneous ones being Pokemon like and and many more inhabited this place. Furthermore, Psychics, like , inhabited the place for obvious reasons but also Ghosts like and inhabit this place by helping the humans connect with other Ghosts.
However, one day the inhabitors of the temples tried messing with a Spirit that did not like the way it was treated. So, the spirit with all its power attacked the temples. The temples were destined to fall. However, a Pokemon managed to stave it off. This Pokemon was an forme that evolved from Kubfu that mastered the Meditation method. As a last result, the angry spirit used its power to sink the temples into the ground and turn them upside down.
This incident made the ruins of the temples almost uninhabitable. The few Pokemon that remained are Ghosts (the ones I mentioned above without but some new ones like and ) and Ground- and Rock-type Pokemon, like carbink: and an ancient and an forme, that stumpled to the ruins by accident. Some other Pokemon like , an ancient and the forme are also in this place. The latter serves as the protector of the ruins and prevents evil spirits and evil ghosts from hurting the Pokemon.
Wow, that was a lot but I've established the environment with it being a place to keep peoples minds safe and keep away potential dangers. With the temples being ruins underground now, it cannot be diverse in its selection of Pokemon. There are mostly Ground- and Rock-type Pokemon which are most suited to live their in theory. However, there are some issues like what do these Pokemon eat? Some Rocks like do not necessarily need something like this but things like need those. Here comes the ancient or rather its convergent evolution in Drupius.
Drupius is a Rock/Grass Pokemon that grows Drupes on its neck instead of bananas. Pokemon like and provide the necessary conditions for growing dropes and its smaller size and the ability to fly allow Drupius to transport those drupes accross the ruins. However they will need some help with transporting those drupes since they are not small nor slim by any mean.
Therefore, we will add a forme of and respectively.
The Ambipom is Normal/Ground while the Excadrill is pure Ground and they manage to build tunnels and therefore get to areas of the ruins that Drupius cannot reach. Ambipom is smaller and faster while Excadrill is more specialised in digging those tunnels. Some Excadrills managed to dig to the surface thus allowing outsiders to visit the ruins and the inhabitors of the ruins to leave them. Due to their specialised nature or their size some of the Pokemon there do not want to live the ruins though.
The existing Pokemon also serve their purpose.
and were previous inhabitors of the temples. provides water and with the help of the other Rocks and Grounds helps build water sources. Volcarona provides heat and sunlight for various purposes like growing drupes, providing more reptilian like Pokemon like to live and allowing for eggs to hatch faster.
Lastly, I'd like to talk about the protector of the ruins, its history and its values.
Urshifu-Qi is a Psychic/Fighting-type that is the only Kubfu who mastered the meditation method of the temples' people thus being the only one of its kind. It sits alone in the main temple trying to maintain the balance between this worlds spirits and ghosts and the ones from the afterlife. It managed to master Qi and other method that can heal people and Pokemon.
There are more ideas I could add, but I think you get the idea. Here's what these Pokemon could look like in the submission style.
Pet Mod Name: Triple Threat Pet Mod Concept: micrometa where all fakemons may have up to three typings Explanation:
basically what it says on the tin. each slate there will be three starting typings given, and users make fakemons with up to three typings with the starting typings. for example slate x is fairy/fire/fighting. i can make a water/fairy/poison, fire/ground/flying, and a fighting/dark/ground.
some more things:
- related om if you want an idea of good typings
- preferably ou or slightly higher power level
- no movexit (i love pursuit)
- tera will most likely be banned
- customs will be allowed, within reason of course
- subs will be heavily encouraged to give full movepools or base off of existing movepools (i hate picking a mon in the builder and seeing that it has a total of 20 moves)
- might set up a preliminary vote on whether all pokemon should be forced to have three typings
Miscellaneous:
council is me and DuoM2 so far, @ me in discord if u want in
VaporeMons Pet Mod Name: VaporeMons Pet Mod Concept: The third iteration of SylveMons comes to Gen 9 with VaporeMons! Like SylveMons and JolteMons before it, VaporeMons seeks to shake up the metagame by adding and changing moves, items, and abilities, as well as making non-stat Adjustments to Pokemon. In this case, the metagame in question will be Gen 9 OU after the upcoming Pokemon Home update. Explanation: If you're familiar with JolteMons, then you already know basically how VaporeMons will work. If not, I've included a full explanation of the rules below:
Rules
Submission Phase (5 days) -
During the submission phase, you can submit 4 new or changed moves, items, and abilities as well as 4 non-stat adjustments to Pokémon. Templates are provided below. There are very few restrictions for what you can do with moves, items, and abilities, but please keep your submissions balanced and codeable because the council reserves the right to veto any submission deemed uncompetitive, broken, or unfeasible. For Pokémon Adjustments, you can change the Pokémon's typing, abilities, and add or removes moves. You cannot create new moves or abilities for the Pokémon, you must submit those as part of your moves or ability submissions. Multiple moves / items / abilities can be subbed in one slot if they are clones of each other and multiple Pokémon can be adjusted in one slot if they are direct counterparts of each other.
Voting Phase (1 day) -
During the voting phase, you may vote for up to 6 submissions in each category. You are allowed 2 self-votes. The top voted submissions will win and be added to the metagame, with at least 2 winners in each category.
Discussion (1 day) -
The discussion phase of each slate gives us a quick period of rest to get the newest slate coded, discuss what we got in the newest slate, and potentially do a little playtesting before the next slate. Unlike in JolteMons, distribution discussion is no formally longer part of the discussion phase, with distribution now being decided by council.
VaporeMons will last for 10 slates
For those already familiar with JolteMons, there have been a few changes from how it worked last gen:
- There is no longer a formal Distribution Slate (with the 1 day break in between slates being just a Discussion Phase), with the Distribution of new Moves and Abilities being handled by council. You can still make suggestions for Distribution even if you're not on council, however.
- One playtesting roomtour will take place after every even numbered slate, allowing us to check in on the state of the metagame and make any balance changes if needed
- Unlike JolteMons, VaporeMons will be based on a Regional Dex metagame instead of National Dex. This means that dexited Pokemon can't be submitted for adjustments. Dexited moves and abilities that aren't on any Pokemon in the Dex are fair game, however (since that's no different from submitting a new move or ability). Miscellaneous:
- Once accepted, VaporeMons will aim to start about 2 weeks after Post-Home OU begins, giving time to get the initial OU quickbans out of the way. After that, VaporeMons' tiering will be independent from OU's, though council may agree with bans that happen after the mod starts and implement them anyway
- 99% chance that Terastalization is banned, as it very likely will get restricted or banned over the course of Post-Home OU, but likely not before VaporeMons begins.
View attachment 468458 Pet Mod Name: Burst Wishes Pet Mod Concept: Pokemon ReBurst was a 2011 manga series whose entire premise involved an original cast of characters battling it out via Burst, a transformation process wherein the users fused with Pokemon sealed inside Burst Hearts. In our timeline it remained as a semi-obscure novelty, largely forgotten to the sands of time and not getting an official English translation. But what if this wasn't the case? In the reality this Pet Mod imagines, Burst was the first big flashy battle mechanic, beating Kalos' Mega Evolutions to the punch by debuting in BW1 and being expanded upon in BW2. Explanation: BW2 OU-based mod that adapts Bursting as a gameplay mechanic. Like Mega Evolution and GMaxes it will be given to an exclusive group of Pokemon that can use it mostly composed of fully evolved Unova mons but with some extras from Gens 1-4. No prerequisite knowledge of the manga's characters and storyline is required - you just have to understand the custom mechanics and submit with them in mind.
Speaking of which, here are said mechanics. These are still susceptible to tweaks based on community feedback.
-Eligible Pokemon start out in the party, usable as normable but with a "Seal" button like Dynamax/Z-Moves
-When this button is pressed, the Pokemon is placed inside the player's Burst Heart. An animation plays of them being crystallized (obviously conveyed more abstractly on Showdown) before they are swapped out to another Pokemon of the player's choice. This is tantamount to KOing the Pokemon and their only action for that turn.
-After this point, whenever you are asked to switch in a Pokemon there will be a "Burst!" button underneath your 5 remaining normal party members. Upon doing so, the sealed Pokemon and the player fuse and enter the battle.
-Bursts start at full HP regardless of what the Pokemon fusee was at prior to being sealed.
-All Bursts are Normal + one of the Pokemon's types and gain their ability, movepool and their own stat block based on the base's but personally modified
-Stat modifications should ideally take the Pokemon in a different direction functionally, but not so much so that its base moveset becomes useless. For example, a Zekrom burst could have a statline of 100/130/140/100/110/100 compared to the base's 100/150/120/120/100/90.
Essentially, I envision Burst as a sort of wacky pseudo-revival where the catch is that you have to prepare the base moveset to work with both statlines and replacing one STAB with Normal. The incentivization to use Return is very much deliberate!
Miscellaneous:
-Total Burst Form count will be like 50-60 View attachment 468470View attachment 468471
-Sprites would be fusions of the eligible Pokemon with Nate & Rosa. If anyone has ideas on how to have the simulator recognize which one to use, let me know!
-Like I said above, last-minute mechanics suggestions are appreciated and welcomed.
-And yes, one of them will be Charizard.
A very interesting mechanic with an added layer of strategy on which Pokémon to "crystalize" and which one to burst; and adds another old-gen mod to our catalogue. Approved!
View attachment 467964[Gen 9] Mad Science ( name half-by zxgzxg, thanks :) ) Mad Science is a mod where Fakemon/Changed Pokemon are submitted first, then randomly picked people are assigned to secretly change the Pokemon in private messages.
This mod would have two phases:
Phase 1: Creation Phase This would go about your normal Pet Mod submissions, where players submit Fakemon or Pokemon that have been changed. You are allowed to make a Fakemon as long as it's balanced, but there are rules to changing existing Pokemon:
You may only give a Pokemon a maximum of +20 or -20 in a stat, and the BST must stay exactly the same
You may change a typing, however you MUST keep one of the original Pokemon's types (This also applies to Phase 2, so if someone submitted Grass/Fighting Meowscarada, a Scientist cannot change it to Ice/Fighting, as that would break the rule. Changing it to Dark/Fighting, however, is fine.)
If you give your Pokemon a new typing or change one of its existing typings, you may add up to 5 new moves that have the same typing as the new type, 10 for flavor, OR if you are changing a type, you may also remove up to 5 of its previously-STAB moves, 10 for flavor.
For non-STAB moves, you may give it up to 3, 5 for flavor.
(Please let me know if these rules are too strict)
Once everyone has submitted in a certain period of time, a voting slate would begin. We'd follow a voting format similar to Roulettemons from previous gen, where you may rank a maximum of 5 entries: Highest will get +5, next highest will get +4, the middle will get +3, etcetera, and there would be 3 winners, or more if there is a tie. Once voting concludes, the real fun begins...
Phase 2: Science Phase This would be the sign-up phase. Once everyone has signed up in a 48-hour span, the OP would randomly assign 3 people (or more if there's a tie) to be a Scientist in PMs. Scientists will be randomly assigned a winning Pokemon/Fakemon to modify, however they must keep it in PMs. The rules for Scientists are mainly the same as Phase 1. Once the Scientists have submitted their changes, the modifications are revealed in the thread, which are applied to the winning entries. Then it goes on from there...
Misc
All slates will be themed similar to Clean Slate. This is to make sure the Scientists don't go off-topic with their modifications.
This would be run by a council, but PMing would be done by one person.
Fusion Evolution is undoubtedly one of the most popular Pet Mods from every gen its been a part of and its community has been eagerly awaiting the Gen 9 release. Approved!it may seem rigged but staff team all agreed so i don't care
Another returning giant, it's pretty clear that people are excited for this mod's premise and the proposed micrometa approach seems healthy for it. Approved!
Moretto
A very interesting way to explore the new Pokémon and make the most of them. Metamons has proven to work before and I can only imagine Gen 9's roster will do the mod justice. Approved!
--->
Must have exactly ONE Fire-type custom move (about as strong as Fire Lash, Apple Acid)
An interesting approach on reimagining old Pokémon. From its somewhat limited dex to its unique take on existing mons, this should make for a fairly enjoyable twist. Approved!
Remember this? View attachment 481158Pet Mod Name: Roulettemons 2 Pet Mod Concept: A micrometa comprised of 50 randomly-generated Fakemon.
Roulette was an astounding success when first created from its chaotic nature and wacky stats to its genuinely unique mon creation system. Looking forward to this. Approved!
A Pet Mod focused on Little Cup makes for an interesting mix up in the Pet Mods catalogue and gives the mod a defined identity to set itself apart from the rest. Approved!
Pet Mod Name: Generation X: The Third Chapter Pet Mod Concept: The Third Chapter of the Generation X series, of which the Brazado and Loria regions came before the undetermined third region. This region have it’s own Fakémon, available Pokémon, and possibly a special battle mechanic. Explanation: As the council keep an eye on keeping the power level moderate in comparison to previous Pokémon, we build a new region step-by-step, starting with the name, lore, common environment and boxart Legendary Pokémon, with next slates having their own rules.
The guideline is written by Sharpen42 and Hematite.
Fixed types: Sometimes you'll have to submit a concept that fullfils a category so specific, that you will limit the typing for one or more of your subs.
BST limits: Every slate we'll establish in the fist post the maximum and minimum values for the Base Statistics Total of your subs, so that they respect the power level expected by their category; there are also some general rules, that are:
Extreme minmaxing is, and will remain to be, heavily discouraged. An example of extreme minmaxing is 140 Attack and 15 Special Attack, or 35 Defense and 170 Special Defense. However, it isn’t forbidden to do so, so feel free if you’re confident it won’t make your submission overpowered!
That said, while you should be careful with balancing, don't be afraid to let your Pokémon excel in at least one of its stats, even if it's an early-game Pokémon that you want to look weak! Almost all fully evolved Pokémon have at least one stat above 100, and a large number go higher than 110 or 120 with their highest stat.
You can use this spreadsheet (original by Hematite; version with newer Pokémon under works) to compare your sub's stats to those of existing Pokémon.
It is generally not a good idea to try give a pre-evolution for Pokémon with already very low BST (as were the case for Pikachu and Jigglypuff for examples) or an evolution for Pokémon with very high BST (500 or especially higher range) unless you have a valid reason.
Counterparts and trios: In some slates you'll be able to submit some counterparts, for example version-specific Pokémon or small groups of 2-3 Pokémon that are related by any characteristic, like typing, BST, habitat, prey and predator, etc.; for this type of sub, components of the group will be voted as a whole, you won't be allowed to vote only for just one (or two if it's a trio) of them; some other slates the rules of the slate will impose you to submit a trio or a couple of counterparts, other ones will totally deny you to do so.
Based of Yoshiblaze’s Roadmap, with modifications.
Slates will have ~5 days of submissions and ~2 days of voting.
Same Rules as Gen X and Gen X: Loria - ask me any questions if something's unclear, preferably on Discord.
Stats will be done at the same time as all submissions.
Movepools can be completed any time after winners are voted in, as the mod won't be coded until its completion, but you are encouraged to list as many moves as possible to not leave your movepools lacking if you never complete them.
Regional Forms, Lookalikes (think of Wiglett), Cross-Gen Babies / Pre-Evos and Cross-Gen Evolutions(x) can be subbed for any slate except for the first three slates and the 14th slate (for obvious reasons), and as long as appropriate for the slates.
(x)Regarding Pokémon that already got a Mega Evolution, be it official or from Loria, cross-gen evos that resembles too much from the Mega “counterpart” will be very likely to be vetoed. If you’re not sure, a regional form with evolution is the safest bet for those.
Slate 1 - Region and Legendaries + Poll on if we want a Generational Gimmick
Slate 2 - Generational Gimmick (if “Yes” wins the poll) + Creation of a TM and Tutor List
Slate 3 - Starters (Grass, Fire and Water)
Slate 4 - Early Route Mons (Usually lower than average BST)
Slate 5 - ”Grassy Area” Slate
Slate 6 - Cave + Electric Rodent Slate
Slate 7 - Cold Area Slate
Slate 8 - Forest Slate
Slate 9 - Spooky Slate
Slate 10 - Aquatic Slate
Slate 11 - Fossil Slate
Slate 12 - Free Slate
Slate 13 - Gift Slate
Slate 14 - Minor Legendaries + Pseudo Legendary Slate
Extra Slates (if needed) - Counterparts, More New Pokemon, and Regional Forms, or just more Free Slates in general
Final Slate - Formation of the Regional Dex (Nominations + Council’s Additions)
After Slates Poll - Transfer Starters, Legendary and Mythical
Miscellaneous: The council will be me and most likely sharpen42, as well as up to three competitive-oriented volunteers; certain current members aren’t sure they want to return or could not be available for various reasons, so I have to take the mantle.
So, this is my concept submission, it's pretty cool! I don't have a council, but I'll try and find people soon.
Name: [Gen 9] Pokemon Chrome <tiername>
Short Description: CHR in the name stands for Pokemon Chrome, a conceptual fan game. It has all tiers from Uber through RU with a dex I've selected. The main idea here is to give a homage to the CAP format, changing all the mons accesible in the tier. We've created new moves, new abilities, and even a few buffs & reworks to previous Pokemon. There are also Pokemon corrupted by Chromera's energy into Chromatic formes. For example, Breloom-C is Poison-Fighting, and I think this could add some nice dynamic to the whole thing.
This will have NFE & LC as well, both with some cool new additions. Both Megas & Terastallization are available here in the Capharo region. We hope to see you there!
The idea is still in beta, and I'll need all the help I can get with this, I'll mention other things as they come up!
In this mod, we buff lower tier Pokémon to OU, but on a single condition: They summon another Pokémon to the field to assist them. What this means is that in this mod, PU rank mons and below will get a special “Totem” form that allows them to summon another PU and lower ranked mon when battling (ala when a wild pokemon calls for help in Sun and Moon), having both Pokemon fight against the opponent who is fighting by itself.
For Example: Totem fights against a . On switch, it summons a to aid it in battle. Now, while the opponent is playing with just a Bisharp you are playing with a and a as if it was a doubles format.
Mechanics:
The Totem mon is a special form of the lower tier Pokémon that has been submitted to the mod. There will be themed slates based on actual Totem Pokémon from USUM and SM, but also free-for-all slates for any other mons.
Said Totem form needs to wear a special item to summon a Pokémon on switch in. This item is unremovable.
Upon switch-in, the Totem Pokémon summons a Pokémon at full health.
When a Totem Pokémon faints or leaves the field, the summoned mon faints.
The summoned mon can be targeted by attacks, as well as attack the opponent and allies.
Summoned Pokémon cannot switch out and are inmune to phazing moves (like an in built suction cups).
The movepool of the summoned mon is predetermined and specified in the submission, having the same exact 4 moves, ability, Evs / Ivs, item and stats each time it is summoned. The Totem mon may have some moves added or removed to its special Totem Form, but not the normal version of the pokemon.
To prevent massive PP stalling, each summoned mon only has 5 pp (ala ditto).
Example Submission:
Pokémon: Honchkrow-Totem Summon: Murkrow
Murkrow @ Eviolite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Speed
Impish Nature
- Foul Play
- Tailwind
- Thief
- Snarl Description: Honchkrow-Totem gets support from his henchman murkrow to be a general annoyance. While the base form can attack or roost itself, the murkrow can support it by removing the item from the opponent or lowering its special attack with Snarl, as well as support the team with Tailwind.
Council: Gekokeso
Anyone who would be up to the task of coding this bullshit lol.
