Perhaps when used against specific opponents on a specific team.

I mean many people don't use Marowak anymore, but the odd times you see it, it's with Trick Room or Ninjask/Gravity Support.

Honestly, it depends on the team.

If one were to have Vaporeon, Starmie, Arcanine, Gliscor the team would work spendidly. Gliscor would provide Earthquake/Thunderbolt Immunity, Vaporeon would provide Ice/Water/Wish support and resistances, and Starmie would provide Rapid Spin support.

Arcanine would be used over Gyarados/Salamence due to redundant Electric and Ice weaknesses, and to provide W-o-W support.

Before you say Heatran can provide W-o-W support consider Intimidate, and Arcanine's superior speed, along with the fact that Heatran will almost never survive EQ

Husk, reading through your threads/posts, I get the distinct feeling you lack a good understanding of how pokemon carry attacks of multiple types. If are using gliscor to cover arcanine's ground weak, how are you going to deal with swampert? If you are using Vaporeon to deal with Arcanine's water weak, how are you going to deal with Starmie and its thunderbolt? Putting a team together is far more than lining up resistances.

On the subject of pepper here, I think it could be useful. SR is a much bigger problem than the OP suggest though. Then again, if the OP's suggestion in PR that SR be banned were to go through, we'd be looking at quite a different lil puppy here.

Hey there.
I noticed you're looking for a Jolly Machamp. I have a couple decent ones. Check'em out in my thread.
Thanks

Very random bump indeed. Quite an interesting set, and compared to other Arcanine sets, its a good one, being a unique user of both Will o Wisp and Roar.

But it has some key problems. Arcanine has the poor defensive typing, with 3 common weaknesses (especially Ground) and a SR weakness. Arcanine can't hurt the bulky waters, and Arcanine won't find time to Roar them. Same goes double for Blissey and Starmie. There are more defensive users of Will o Wisp, like Rotom, Dusknoir and Heatran.

Intimidate is a huge factor as well; it can actually survive Earthquakes due to a combination of Intimidate and only one weakness to ground.
