1v1 Ogerpon Wellspring (SubSeed) [QC 2/2] [GP 1/1]

[SET]
SubSeed (Ogerpon-Wellspring) (F) @ Wellspring Mask
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 52 HP / 20 Def / 184 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Power Whip / Ivy Cudgel
- Spiky Shield / Ivy Cudgel

[SET COMMENTS]
* Maximum speed is to outspeed everything Ogerpon-W can, including non-Choice Scarf Landorus-T, and Manaphy.
* The Defense EVs let Ogerpon-W survive Choice Band Metagross's Psychic Fangs, while the Special Defense EVs let it take Ursaluna-Bloodmoon's combo of Blood Moon and Vacuum Wave.
* Ogerpon-W should use Leech Seed turn one, then alternate between Spiky Shield and Substitute until the foe is KOed or is within range of Ogerpon-W's attacks.
* Without Spiky Shield, Ogerpon-W relies more on its offensive capabilities. After using Leech Seed, it should use Substitute until it's able to KO foes with either Power Whip or Ivy Cudgel.
* Leech Seed and Substitute are standard for the strategy. While Spiky Shield isn't mandatory, it is usually used to increase healing from Leech Seed and to stall out the foe's HP.
* One or two attacking moves are used; Ivy Cudgel is better for hitting Fire-, Ground-, and Rock-types like Lando-T, Skeledirge, and Rhyperior for super effective damage and is better against IronPress sets from Pokemon like Registeel and Corviknight because of Ivy Cudgel's higher crit rate. Power Whip's main advantage is that it is better against Water-types, like Primarina and Manaphy.

Ogerpon-W is one of the best users of SubSeed in SV. Great speed, typing, and good enough bulk help it succeed against slower threats. Having a non-trickable item in the Wellspring Mask helps against Trick users, while having very powerful stab moves in Power Whip and Ivy Cudgel.
This section is not going to show up in the analysis.

Tera Type: Water
Remove this.

Max speed for outspeeding as much as it can, which includes every Pokémon A- or higher (no boosts) except Meowscarada and Iron Valiant.
Viability Rankings are subject to change, so I would not involve them in an analysis. I'd say what it does outspeed though instead of what it does not outspeed. Make sure you're actually beating the things in your examples though.

Click Leech Seed turn 1, then alternate Spiky Shield and Substitute until your opponent is KOed or are within range of your best damaging move.
Spiky Shield is slashed with another move, so I'd explain how to play this set without Spiky Shield as well.

1 or 2 attacking moves are used; Power Whip and Ivy Cudgel are the strongest STAB options. Both are 120 bp (Cudgel is 120 because of the Wellspring Mask), however Power Whip is 85% accurate, while Cudgel is 100%. Obviously the attacking move of choice is team-dependent, but Ivy Cudgel is generally more reliable.
Have examples for what to use Ivy Cudgel and Power Whip on.

I'm not giving this a 1/2 yet, but it's a good start just needs to be a bit more specific.

* Max speed for outspeeding as much as it can, which includes Walking Wake, Iron Crown Iron Crown can run Speed Booster fairly easily or Psychic Noise although much less frequently, Lando-T, Volcarona, and Garchomp.
* Def EVs are for Choice Band Metagross Psychic Fangs, while the Special Defense is for Ursaluna-Bloodmoon's combo of Blood Moon and Vacuum Wave.
* Click Leech Seed turn 1, then alternate Spiky Shield and Substitute until your opponent is KOed or are within range of your best damaging move.
* If you don't run Without Spiky Shield, you are relying more on the offensive capabilities of Ogerpon-W, so you can Substitute a few times, but a. After a maximum of 6 Substitutes, you will have to click an attacking move at that point to secure a KO.
* Leech Seed and Substitute are standard for the strategy, while Spiky Shield isn't mandatory, it is usually used to ensure over 2 turns of Leech Seed healing you get back 24% health; which is almost exactly the HP you lose to a substitute. This is not a guarantee. Leech Seed recovery is 12.5% of the opponent's HP, which means you recover more, the more HP your opponent has, or less, less. And while usually you can easily recover what you lose to sub, you don't guarantee that. (You could also easily get more)
* 1 or 2 attacking moves are used; Power Whip and Ivy Cudgel are the strongest STAB options. Both are 120 bp (Cudgel is 120 because of the Wellspring Mask), Cudgel has an effective BP of 120 but that's not what it actually is. You can say they are equally powerful, but don't just say the BP of the move is higher than what the sim shows. however Power Whip is 85% accurate, while Cudgel is 100%. Ivy Cudgel is better for hitting Fire, Ground, and Rock types for super-effective damage Such as?, and is better into Iron Defense Body Press sets from who? because of Ivy Cudgel's higher crit rate. Also, for anything that takes neutral damage from both Grass and Water, Ivy Cudgel is better like. Power Whip's main advantage is that is better into Water types, like Primarina and other Ogerpon-Ws. Offensive variants of Oger can run Trailblaze. Defensive Variants can run Counter or Charm + Synth. SubSeed Oger is least equipped to handle other Oger variants.

Spenceair is this ready for qc2? if so please edit the threwd title ty
I was already QC1ing it and it got stolen ;w;

ok ig I'm qc2?

which includes Walking Wake, Lando-T, Volcarona, and Garchomp.
So... Walking Wake can outspeed with Speed Booster and Choice Scarf. Lando-T can outspeed but you win this so it's fine ig, just mention non-Choice Scarf. You lose to Volcarona without Cudgel bc Volc just clicks Quiver Dance into Bug Buzz, which goes through Sub. Even with Cudgel, Passho Berry has become pretty popular to win this matchup so ye. Garchomp is a losing matchup because Scale Shot is a move.

* Def EVs are for Choice Band Metagross Psychic Fangs, while the Special Defense is for Ursaluna-Bloodmoon's combo of Blood Moon and Vacuum Wave.
I think you should mention that the EV spread is to have minimum HP investment for Leech Seed recovery percentages while still having 252 Speed EVs.

* Without Spiky Shield, you are relying more on the offensive capabilities of Ogerpon-W. After a maximum of 6 Substitutes, you will have to click an attacking move to secure a KO.
Where did you get the maximum of 6 number from, because depending on the HP of the target it might just depend.

* 1 or 2 attacking moves are used; Power Whip and Ivy Cudgel are the strongest STAB options. They are equally powerful moves, however Power Whip is 85% accurate, while Cudgel is 100%.
Power Whip is 120 BP, while Ivy Cudgel is 100. They are not equally powerful moves.
Ivy Cudgel is better for hitting Fire, Ground, and Rock types like Lando-T, Skeledirge,
Mention a Rock type here too, like Rhyperior.

Anyways, paragraph all in all, you can very easily cut this down by saying "Ivy Cudgel should be used in [insert situation here] due to its accuracy, while Power Whip is for opposing Water-types like Primarina.

gonna take another look once you've implemented these changes.

which includes non-Choice Scarf Lando-T,
I'd rather put something like Manaphy or something here, but yeah. Landorus-T is not very fast.

After using Leech Seed and a maximum of 6 Substitutes-this depends on the HP of your opponent however-you will have to click an attacking move to secure a KO.
Just write this as something similar "After using Leech Seed, Ogerpon-W should use Substitute until it will be able to KO opposing with either Power Whip or Ivy Cudgel." The 6 Substitutes thing feels a bit unnecessary to me.

* Leech Seed and Substitute are standard for the strategy, while Spiky Shield isn't mandatory, it is usually used to ensure over 2 turns of Leech Seed healing you get back approximately 24% health; which is almost exactly the HP you lose to a substitute.
This depends on your opponent's HP stat. Just say that Spiky Shield allows for increased Leech Seed recovery instead of going for the percentages.

Power Whip's main advantage is that it is better into Water types, like Primarina.
Probs going to recommend adding Manaphy here.

I'll take one final look once you've implemented these.
