On October 17th, Thom Waldrop issued a clarion call to action: Occupy Kanto! The goal stated was to gather over 9000 pokemon masters in the front lobby of the Silph Co building in Saphron City, Kanto to begin a popular occupation of that space. Inspired by the popular assemblies of Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova those gathered will work to find a common voice in one clear, unified demand.
Technology like the PokeGear and CGear has made it easier than ever before for trainers to stay in close contact and assist one another in acheiving a collective goal. Our aim is to make these tools available so our users--the true pokemasters of this region--can make an occuptation of Kanto successful. We may not be able to teach a person RNG fishing mons, or do it on their behalf, but we can build a darn good rod.
The sovereign people of any region have the power, the right, and the duty of guiding the destiny of their region. Most just do not realize this. An organizer brings the process to realization.
Why occupy Kanto? Because it belongs to us! Because we can!

Here is a tentative list of demands that those gathered in the Silph Co lobby have suggeseted and voted on. It by no means covers every ill in our region, but it's a good start.

First Communique : We Occupy Silph Co
This is the first communique from the 99% super effective. We are occupying Silph Co.
On October 17th over 9000 pokemon trainers united for a better Kanto marched into the front lobby of the Silph Co building in Saphron City and formed a spontaneous blockade, prompting Officer Jennys from all over the region to threaten arrest. Local celebrities such as Ash Ketchum and Professor Oak stood on the rim of the two fountains and rallied the crowd.
We then asked ourselves what to do next and decided to march over to the Saphron City Poke Mart and protest their outrageous prices. No one in this region can afford 600 dollars for a Full Heal. And 1200 dollars for a Hyper Potion and 1500 dollars for a simple Revive??? What is this region coming to! Only the fat cats like Giovanni can afford the basic necessities of life.
We now speak as one. All of our decisions, from our choices to march on the Poke Mart to our decision to camp at the front lobby of the Silph Co building were decided through a consensus process by the group, for the group.

Second Communique : Blood In The Streets
Breaking news. The combined forces of the Kanto police have cordoned off the lobby of the Silph Co building and moved in to indiscriminately and illegally beat and arrest many of the protesters.
Shocking footage of one thug cop getting ready to beat an innocent protester!
A peaceful protester being tazed! CAUGHT ON TAPE!
Some protesters tried to flee for their lives.
Only to be secretly surveiled by the Kanto Secret Service.
Eventually over 100 protesters were illegally arrested.
They may have beaten us. They may have threatened us. They may have thrown many of us in jail. BUT THEY WILL NEVER DEFEAT US! WE ARE UNITED! WE ARE 99% SUPER EFFECTIVE!!
The movement continues at the same place. They may take away our liberties but they cannot stop this movement. We have made up our minds to occupy in the front lobby of the Silph Co building in Saphron City and scream our demands at the top of our lungs until those in authority have no choice but to comply.

- We the people of Occupy Kanto demand that fat cats like Giovanni and those like him be required to pay more of a fair share of their taxes to support those who are not as well off as they are.
- We the people of Occupy Kanto demand that evil minded companies like Silph Co be regulated so that our waters will no longer be poisoned, our berries will have clean soil to grow in, and our pokemon will have clean air to breathe.
- We the people of Occupy Kanto demand that Pokemon Centers not only be free of charge but... wait that one's pretty good as is thank you.
- We the people of Occupy Kanto demand that the many Officer Jennys that have consistenty abused their power, beating helpless innocent protesters without provocation or warning be brought to justice and stand trial for their abuses of power and crimes against the most basic human rights.
- We the people of Occupy Kanto demand that pokemon everywhere be freed from the oppressive, vulgar, violent slavery known as "pokemon battling", and that pokeballs be banned throughout this fair region.
- Shroomish is not a drug. It's natural man.
- We the people of Occupy Kanto demand that this Region's ban on Pokesexual Marriage be lifted, so that all pokemon everywhere may freely breed with whatever pokemon they fall in love with, regardless of species, language, or gender.
