I'm really bored with the games available to me at the moment, and am tempted to get KI:U because it looks real flashy and exciting, but I'm not a really big platform/shooter gamer, and I'm very concerned it will be too twitch-dependant for me to succeed and enjoy it.

KI:U sucks (from what I've noticed) if you're left handed and have absolutely no coordination in your right hand (like me :D)...

Hi you know about something called control schemes?

I would pick up Kid Icarus but I already have a huge backlog of games and the Tales of the Abyss hasn't been touched for a week or two now just because I have not had enough time to do so.

Yes I have heard of control schemes, just not for KI:U. Honestly, I'd rather use the circle pad and my incapable right hand than press a/b/x/y to move. Not really gonna go in depth until I get the game cause I'm kinda bad about making assumptions, like first person MK7, it's so much funner than third person view.

Huh it looks similar to the controls for Geometry Wars: Galaxies. Since I'm left-handed, I used the abxy buttons to move around and I didn't have too much trouble with it.

I picked up Mario Kart 7. Good little racing game (although "little" probably isn't the best way to describe Mario Kart).

actually changed my mind, shy guy + gherkin + slick + ghastly glider is best

Also Shy Guy + Egg 1 + Slick + Parafoil is the best kart. Everyone else is wrong.

Yoshi + Bruiser + Mushroom + [one of the many gliders that increase acceleration] is best.

A lot of people like to Metal Mario + B. Dasher + Slick or Gold tires on time trials, but there really isn't any best combination. You can pretty much use what ever you want, I usually use Koopa + Soda Jet + Roller since I like high acceleration and handling. Though I see a lot of people use the Big Red tires or what ever they are called, because most people prefer high speed and off road.

Is there any news on the release date of Paper Mario 3DS? I don't have a 3DS right now, but I don't think I can resist buying an installment of the best video game series ever.

I'm having a blast with this game, its definitely exceeded my expectations. The controllers took some time to get used to, but I absolutely adore them now! Single player is incredible fun; The aerial portions are great, but I find that reviewers overrated them. In comparison, ground stages are much, MUCH more fun. My favorite so far has to be chapter 5's pandora stage and chapter 6's Dark Pit stage. Furthermore the multiplayer IS REALLY REALLY GOOD. I got a few matches in and I was having the time of my life. Honestly a game like this comes around every once in a while. I just hope its a huge success!

My weapon of choice are Blades. They're good at long range, and incredible in close quarters combat. I also LOVE bows and their homing capabilities. I can't wait until Pit gets Palutena's bow!!!

My AR cards:

Pit
Palutena
Medusa
Lord Gaol
Eggplant wizard
Minos
EZ cannon
Mik
Fiends Cauldron
Skyscraper Club
Fireworks cannon

I just picked up Kid Icarus: Uprising and I have to say that it's a very good game. The controls take a bit to get used to but once you do there are really no problems. I love all the fast paced gameplay and the interactions between the characters are really funny too

I also must say the music is fantastic

God dammit I hate how you guys have KI:U now but I have to wait a bit longer until it gets released in Australia (well, it's only 5 days but I'm sooooo impatient).

Excited to get Kid Icarus soon, but kinda disappointed because I saw some gamepley of pokemonxnobunaga's, and it seems like it will be a letdown to anyone who has played a fire emblem game (who would probably be the only people to buy it anyways). The graphics are hardly better than mystery dungeon, the camera is awkward, and it looks like it's "nintendo eas" (What happened to nintendo hard? I guess that's just a memory now...)

My AR cards:

i have the same as you, but instead of medusa i have dark pit and a insight staff.

im not doing so well in solo mode but online is fun. playing free-for-alls ive been using angel bow (shoots hearts :3 ) and guardian orbiters, i picked up a crusader sword that looks really cool, gonna try that out later.

Pit, Palutena, Dark Pit, Dark Lord Gaol, Stackjaw, Crusher Arm

And my buddy at work who doesn't have KI:U yet gave me a Power of Flight which is pcool looking.

My daughter is flat out amazed by how the angels pop out of the cards. I think its a neat idea too. I need to find a site where these are all cataloged and I can either print these off, or set them up on my wife's laptop and take a picture or something.

Guys. If you don't have this game yet. Dear Lord. At least rent it. The visuals are amazing. The music is amazing. The voice acting is, yes goofy, but it reminds me of the old Zelda TV Series (after Super Mario Brothers Super Show) and I love it. Maybe it won't strike such a chord with younger players, but Nostalgia is like squirting out my eyeholes right now.

I'm still getting used to the controls, but I'm not at all sure what the reviewers were talking about. I mean, its a little odd, but nothing that time and practice won't correct. I mean like, I could be wrong, and as I get further into the game I'll see, but it just seems they were complaining about the controls being "hard". I don't see that as a negative. It would be like saying "competitive pokemon is hard." That's actually a very good thing. It makes me want to master it, and after I do I feel great!

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I've logged in at least 4-5 hours on multiplayer alone today. Its so fun and addicting, and both modes of play are good for their own reasons. Man KI:U is a game custom tailored for me, it literally has everything I want in a video game. If you're on the fence; don't be there are like 5 "good" 3DS games, and you want to beef up that gaming library.

Speaking of the multiplayer, I've only put a few hours in. Do you use your ingame weapons, or do they give out ones specifically for randomwifi? I just don't want to show up unprepared and get creamed over and over again.

If I recall correctly (mind you I don't have the game I watched the online video that the guy who made it had on the Nintendo Shop), you use your ingame items for multiplayer.

I'm really thinking about getting it though. I honestly bought the 3DS for some of the other games that came out but I'm reconsidering, since this may be a nice game to kill the time until Luigi's Mansion 2, Paper Mario 3D, KH:3D, PW vs. PL, and ZE:VLR come out.

you use your own items for multiplayer. but dont worry, it all comes down to player skill, unfortunately.

Thank you both!

Oh. Incase anyone else has a Gamestop salesperson who doesn't actually own a 3DS and doesn't know how to make use of the download code for the 3D Version of the old NES Kid Icarus:

eshop
settings and other
download code
type in the 16 digit code on your receipt
enjoy the 3D 8 bit NES graphics and music

My mom just picked up my copy today (I was gonna go yesterday after watching The Hunger Games, but Gamestop closed by the time the movie ended) and omg it's WAYYY better than I expected.

I'm not sure why some of the game reviewers complained so much about the controls. Sure, changing the camera view is annoying sometimes but it's not that bad at all. I actually really like the controls and how fast paced the game is! Also, I love love love how Pit and Palutena etc. talk during the game (and you actually hear voices instead of just reading!). It's kind of entertaining lol. The music so far has also been great!

I can't wait to play some more :D

I haven't tried the AR cards yet but these are the ones I got:

Pit
Palutena
Mesuda
Three-Headed Hewdraw
Monoeye
Crusher Arm

I also played Kid Icarus 3D Classic for a while. It's ok, I guess :P
