What is Nature Swap?

Nature Swap allows you to swap two of a Pokemon's base stats, according to their nature. For example, a Great Tusk (115/131/131/53/53/87) with Hasty (-def,+spe) would become (115/131/87/53/53/131), while a Modest (-atk,+spa) Great Tusk would become (115/53/131/131/53/87). Nature Swap also removes the -10% debuff given by natures, while retaining the 10% boost. This makes taking risks with Nature Swapping less punishing.

:Zamazenta: (92/120/138/80/115/115)
Reference (Zamazenta) @ Choice Band
Ability: Dauntless Shield
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Def / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press

I have a few set ideas besides this very funny one but i hope to play this a lot when it gets voted or chosen.

:Kommo-o: (75/110/85/100/105/125)
Belly Drum Weavile (Kommo-o) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Soundproof
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Belly Drum
- Drain Punch
- Earthquake
- Thunder Punch
Fast and sorta bulky with +6 Drain Punches, its like the aaa triage era but a bit worse

:Tauros: (75/40/95/100/70/110)
Godly Gift is Calling (Tauros) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Fire Blast
- Shadow Ball
Godly gift wants their bull back so they can give it a mixed set and higher spa, ngl could be decent but without max speed and its lackluster threat level it prolly just falls flat

:Dragapult: (88/100/75/120/75/142)
20 More Spa (Dragapult) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Shadow Ball
- U-turn
- Fire Blast
A minor but still cool buff to this guys fire power, not much else to say besides he’s always gonna be slower in this

️‍⚧:Jolteon:️‍⚧️ (95/65/65/110/60/130)
Trans Jolteon (Sylveon) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pixilate
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Beam
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Psychic / Wish?
I love this idea but hate how absurdly shallow Sylveon’s special movepool is without just caving into a calm mind set.

:Dondozo: (150/65/115/65/100/35)
CLODSIRE MY BELOVED (Dondozo) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Curse
- Wave Crash / Liquidation
- Rest
- Sleep Talk / Body Press
BBP’s new favorite toy and everyone elses new nightmare, now donbozo can attempt to eat tbolts and energy ballers while easily tanking everything else, even with things now having higher spas from the nature boost it most likely tanks

Sidenote, #BanKyurem, that thing doesnt look fun to go against at all, its like iron bundle on steroids. Fun is subjective, yes, but that doesnt change how menacing it is

How exactly does the base stat swapping work? does it always swap both stats that are involved in the nature or does it give the highest base stat to the stat that is being increased by the nature?
For example: if i use adamant great tusk, will it still get 53 base atk? or will the base stat swap not happen because the base stat being boosted(by the nature) is already higher than the one being decreased?
This is extremely important because if it always swaps, it means that pokemon whose highest base stat(aside from hp) is speed, they could never get a 10% boost on it unless they swapped it for an inferior base stat, which is to say that they lose their original speed tier entirely

Adamant and Modest would have the same effect on Tusk’s base stats. Both would make it have 53 attack and 131 special attack. The only difference is where the 10% boost is placed.

I’m glad you mentioned Tusk specifically. If you want to keep its base stats the same but you want to have its 10% nature boost in attack, just make it Lonely. This “swaps” both its 131 base stats and provides the 10% attack boost to its attack. Conversely, Bold would do the same thing, just placing the 10% boost in defense.

on the topic of tusk,

:sv/great tusk:
Great Tusk @ Leftovers
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Water / Dark / Steel
EVs: 248 HP / 224 SpD / 36 Spe
Gentle Nature (+SpD, -Def)
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Spinner / Stealth Rock / Bulk Up

its actually a very good special wall if you ignore the incredibly bad psychic weakness (but tera dark can patch that up). however, the scary sets are the speed sets...

Great Tusk @ Choice Band
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Ground / Dark / Ice / Poison
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature (+Spe, -Def)
- Headlong Rush
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Ice Spinner

Great Tusk @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Ground / Dark / Ice / Poison
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe (+Spe, -Def)
Hasty Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Knock Off / Close Combat
- Ice Spinner
- Bulk Up

so yeah this thing gets 131atk, 131spe, an insane stab combo, and perfect coverage. have fun.

last set is a mon that i think will be pretty good here although its actual speed is "sadly" only base 104 here; fear rmoon

:sv/roaring moon:
Roaring Moon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Dragon / Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Flamethrower
- U-turn

so this has some crazy dracos since its off a modest 139spa stat. for those who want a more tangible number, its 414spa base and 621spa after specs with a 130bp stab move with only 1 resist and 1 immunity, the former of which drops to flamethrower. it also has pivoting to bring in something to handle the fairies and blissey so yeah good luck

last thing but can we free flutter ill be honest its not that crazy here in comparison to say tusk/hoopa-u/tork/hoodra/gambit/etc

Love the concept for this OM!
:iron-thorns: (100/134/72/70/84/110)
Iron Thorns @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature (+Spe, -Def)
- Supercell Slam
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance

This thing looks scary with an actual speed tier. It loses quite a bit of physical bulk and it still has a shit defensive typing, but its newfound speed lets it threaten stuff easier and with a DD, it can potentially sweep with its great coverage. This thing really appreciates stuff like Tusk giving up defense as it can now outspeed and OHKO Tusk with Ice Punch with a DD.

Tinkaton - Wikipedia

Tinkaton (F) @ Metal Coat
Ability: Mold Breaker
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature (+Atk -SpDef)
- Play Rough
- Gigaton Hammer
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance

Tink is certainly going to appreciate being able to unshackle itself from it's horrible Atk stat, even if it becomes squishier as a result. Still being able to fire off Metal Coat boosted Gigaton Hammers off of an Atk stat of 339 is going to be fun.

Alolan Persian with an effective 722 Defense is gonna be crazy

Using Railroaders Tinkaton as an Example
Tink V Ting Lu:
+2 252+ Atk Metal Coat Tinkaton Gigaton Hammer vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Ting-Lu: 487-574 (94.7 - 111.6%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Metal Coat Tinkaton Gigaton Hammer vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Ting-Lu: 399-471 (77.6 - 91.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Tink V Persian:
252+ Atk Metal Coat Mold Breaker Tinkaton Gigaton Hammer vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Ability Shield Fur Coat Persian-Alola: 97-115 (29.1 - 34.5%) -- 5.7% chance to 3HKO
252+ Atk Metal Coat Mold Breaker Tinkaton Gigaton Hammer vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Ability Shield Fur Coat Persian-Alola: 97-115 (29.1 - 34.5%) -- 99.9% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock

And thats without considering the fact that you can’t use gigaton twice in a row, or the fact that you dont necessarily need to run ability shield (its quite MU specific tbh).
252 Atk Great Tusk Headlong Rush vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Fur Coat Persian-Alola: 66-78 (19.8 - 23.4%) -- 17.3% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Great Tusk Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Fur Coat Persian-Alola: 132-156 (39.6 - 46.8%) -- 25% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

And Reminder, that’s without HDB or Leftovers

I mainly like alolan persian for its access to pivoting, which is now on the slower end with base 60. Persians whole game plan is to come in, take 2 hits, and parting shot out. Also has knock off for support and potentially chesto resto (bro thinks he dozo fr fr)

Tink MU with tera steel is ruined :( but tera water or tera electric is right there, and you could always run tera ghost or tera flying for tusk. Tera water is funny too (I dislike tera pls ban it) (such a hot take i know)

EDIT! May want to add sleep moves to the watchlist/banlist, considering that this is possible

:breloom: Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Tera Type: Flying / Poison / Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature [60/70/80/60/60/130]
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spore
- Giga Drain / Mach Punch / Close Combat
- Sludge Bomb / Stone Edge / Zen Headbutt / Filler
- Toxic / Stun Spore / Filler

130 Speed (Positive Nature) Spore, other moves barely matter. Sludge bomb for grasses, or Zen Headbutt for tera poison breloom, toxic is a pain to deal with for the grasses that cant be slept. Mach punch for sash/low hp cleanup duty.
Brute Bonnet is bulkier but has a slightly worse typing, but can use booster speed.

Thank God i was wrong, sleep shant torture a tier today!
Also, can’t wait to show the world DD/band wake >:3, draco meteor be damned we spamming liquidation and strong flip turns

What no toxic does to a mf:

I’m using this joke post as an opportunity to follow up on my previous edit: here’s chinese spread bonnet, designed to outspeed numerous threats and sleep them, taunt them, heal damage, and overall be a pain in the opponent’s mudbray

:brute bonnet: Brute Bonnet @ Booster Energy/Choice Scarf
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 248 HP / 52 Def / 120 SpA / 88 Spe
Timid Nature (111/55/99/79/99/127)
- Spore
- Taunt
- Giga Drain
- Synthesis / Sucker Punch

Spore is a given.
120 SpAtk is to OHKO Boots Hisuian Avalugg with a Giga Drain before it OHKOs you, and 88 timid is to outspeed Havalugg after booster/scarf
248 is just shy of max hp (to take less from hazards), and the remaining 52 I just sunk into defense. SpDef might be better, idk
Taunt is a general disruptive tool, helps against setup or getting statused yourself (ergo Toxic, Paralysis, Yawn)
Giga Drain is generally just a good chip and healing tool.
Synthesis is there for Booster, Sucker for scarf. Sucker could be run on either though, same idea as breloom.

Checks:
:breloom: Grass Types.
Cant be slept with spore, breloom is especially a problem with mach punch + Sucker Resitance (252 Atk Choice Band Technician Breloom Mach Punch vs. 248 HP / 52 Def Brute Bonnet: 282-332 (66.3 - 78.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO) and if booster you wont get the 1.5x speed boost the second time out

:Annihilape: Sleep Immunity.
Ok I know this sounds niche, But bonnet is weak to every type under the sun. A sleep immunity, so long as you resist Giga Drain/Sucker Punch, shuts bonnet down, especially with taunt. I’d like to point out Timid Honchcrow in particular, able to outspeed 88+ after scarf (though bonnet could just run max speed) and taunt, hurricane, or even just U-turn pivot into a grass type. Speaking of U-turn:

:scizor: U-turn. (And First Impression ig)
If bonnet doesnt outspeed, U-turn probably murders him. A quad bug weakness is terrible. First impression is also an option if you want this thing dead ASAP.

:avalugg-hisui: Scarf Users.
Havalugg base 184 252+ is outsped, sure, but Havalugg base 184 252+ +1 sure as hell isnt. Anything 344 speed or higher outspeeds 88+ bonnet at +1 and anything with base 128 speed outspeeds at max & +Spe nature. Notably in this list: Great tusk.
Why is tusk notable? Rapid spin. 131 base speed at +1 is simply an unwinnable matchup for bonnet.

Truly a fine print moment, anyways did you know that regice has 200 speed and perfect boltbeam coverage, with Focus Miss for Steel/Electric Pokemon? You do now!

Hello everyone, Nature Swap made 3 unbans, read below to see the reasoning behind each
:ss/Blissey: :ss/Chansey:
Gen 9 did this line no favors this gen for traditional Nature Swap defensive mons (RIP Mence). The loss of Toxic is huge, but what’s even bigger is Teleport being removed from its moveset. They still don’t like being in on physical mons, so the loss of pivoting to something that can take them or can do damage back. They can still potentially make use of Thunder Wave, Seismic Toss, and Trick, so they’re not going to completely flounder. I also think Blissey could make use of Relaxed if it can actually do damage.
:ss/Flutter Mane:
Jk it’s Flutter. With how much variety the other Paradoxes can fit in them, especially with optimization for offense, Flutter can’t compare. With all that, Flutter Mane doesn’t seem as threatening as it does in OU. While it can easily get boosted SpA or speed, that’s the only things it can do. Boosting defense is possible, but it doesn’t want to give up the 10% boost to speed or SpA. It’s another mon that makes use of sun, but I doubt it’s going to be the thing that breaks it.

Tl;dr it doesn’t inherently get any boosts from Nature Swap, and we believe that other things have reached its level in OU. Sun is still scary, but it’s not a typical sun moon.

Do nothing! (Do natures that normally increase and decrease the same stat now simply boost that stat without changing anything else?)
Unfortunately, no.
EDIT! May want to add sleep moves to the watchlist/banlist, considering that this is possible

:breloom: Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Tera Type: Flying / Poison / Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature [60/70/80/60/60/130]
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spore
- Giga Drain / Mach Punch / Close Combat
- Sludge Bomb / Stone Edge / Zen Headbutt / Filler
- Toxic / Stun Spore / Filler
We have sleep moves clause already. Hate to do it to Breloom but it had to be done.
:Annihilape: Sleep Immunity.
Annihilape is banned. It could put that 115 attack anywhere it wants (beside special attack), and it just as primed for a Rage Fist sweep as it was in OU.

Also just saying that if you wanted a great Spore counter there’s Enamorus Therian, who is probably good.

Pecharunt @ Choice Specs
Ability: Poison Puppeteer
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Malignant Chain
- Parting Shot
- Sludge Wave

Not an amazing set but there's so much ideas i can make
