My Team (OU)

My team sucks, but I'll still show it because I need expert advice since I'm a rookie.

Miltank @ Leftovers
Trait: Thick Fat
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 Spd
- Heal Bell
- Milk Drink
- Body Slam
- Stealth Rock
Miltank is awesome! I chose Miltank because its pretty bulky and I hate most of the Bulky Pokemon in OU. It can cure status problems, recover itself, and set up stealth rock. Not a lot of Pokemon can do that.

Sudowoodo @ Choice Band
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Wood Hammer
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch
Sudowoodo is awesome. Nuff said. It really has no purpose in this team, but I think its cool. I might wanna keep this pokemon to make my team just a little unique.

Garchomp @ Life Orb
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Stone Edge
- Fire Fang
I picked Garchomp because I needed a really strong Pokemon that cover a lot of ground. Sure it is probably the most used set on a Garchomp, but I wanted a strong Pokemon. I also like Garchomp because its a landshark.

Alakazam @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 HP / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power [Ice]
I picked Alakazam because I can use the life orb without taking recoil due to the Magic Guard ability. I have signal beam because I wanna take on psychic Pokemon like Celebi and Latios. I chose Psyshock instead of psychic because Psyshock can give Chansey and Blissey a hard time. I'm still a little indecsive on whether or not I should have HP fire or ice.

Breloom @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Low Sweep
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed
- Spore
I chose Breloom because I saw how annoying it was on OU and I thought it looked cool. I like that Low Sweep can lower speed so it gives Breloom the advantage I guess.

Eelektross @ Expert Belt
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 172 HP / 252 SAtk / 84 Spd
Quiet Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Flamethrower
- Giga Drain
- Superpower
Eelektross is one of my most favorite Pokemon in the 5th gen. I like the fact that is has no weakness and it has a pretty decent movepool. I gave it superpower so it can give a massive dent on bulky special defensive pokemon like Blissey, Chansey, and Snorlax. I gave it Giga Drain so I can beat up Pokemon who resist Fire and Electric moves.

I need help with this team really bad. Please give me as much advice as humanly possible so I can play Pokemon competitively and have obscure Pokemon while having fun. Sure the info I put sucks, but what did you expect? I copied most of this off the smogon strategy dex.

Firstly, you're gonna have to ditch Miltank, Sudowoodo, and Eelektross if you want even a remote chance of doing well. They can all fill a niche, but none of them have that niche on your team.

Garchomp would probably work better with a Choice Scarf, use him for late game kills.

Landorus-T can replace Sudowoodo, try the Offensive Pivot set. He'll be your SR setter, and... offensive pivot.

Replace Miltank with Tyranitar, use the Specially Defensive set. It can be your defensive pivot, and trapper, so make sure to give it Pursuit.

Finally, replace Eelektross with Scizor. It gives you priority, and can kill many of the things that threaten Garchomp.

Once you have all of those set, this should be your general game plan:

-lead with Landy-T, set Rocks or escape with U-Turn
-Wear down the opponent with sandstorm, Breloom and its sleep, and Landy
-Use Scizor to pick of specific threats like Mamoswine, Latios, Dragonite, and others
-Finish with Alakazam or Garchomp, depending on the makeup of the opponent's team. You'll have to determine which would work best, and use the other one to help wear down the rest of the team. For a more simplistic setup, give Alakazam a focus sash and always use Garchomp for cleanup. This will help your team with Scizor.

If you don't want to get rid of your current Pokemon, then play NU.

If you want to keep a range of Pokémon from all tiers, then play Tier Shift. Miltank, Eelektross and Sudowoodo will get +15 to all their base stats.

Just some thoughts watching the two replays you posted:

Miltank is meant to be used as a tank/cleric, but you're using it as a lead, and it dies before it ever has a chance to do the real job of keeping the rest of your team free from status.

1st battle: Not sure of exact stats but it makes ZERO sense for them to keep blissey in against eelektross. I'd go for a T-Bolt on turn 2, and then a Flamethrower (or switch) on round 3. You have (almost) full access to their team, make use of that and anticipate the switches!

If your opponent is behind a substitute, now is NOT the time to set up entry hazards!! They are preparing to sweep, and you need to brake their substitute before they get whatever stat-ups they're looking for.

2nd battle: Not a fan of using outrage so early - you are locked into the attack and your opponent has his entire team to choose from to pick the best counter.

Other thoughts: You don't have any true tanks - Miltank is the only thing that even resembles one, and that's physically based only. You are screwed if you end up facing a specially-based team.

I would switch out Miltank and Sudowoodo for Jirachi and Rotom-W. Jirachi you can go in a number of directions, but I'd keep it similar to your Miltank by giving it Wish, Protect, Stealth Rock, and Body Slam to paralyze. Rotom-W, I'd go with the Choice set for this team.

Finally, I'd consider Poison Heal Breloom over Technician Breloom.
