My Pokemon Ranch: What do we know?

This is actually pretty fun. I love going out and catching the Wanted Pokemon. Its such a motivation to fill my dex. The storage is also well needed.

Meh... I think my Mew is still probably the best full-legit Mew, since from what I've gathered, Lorak's is semi-legit (cheated ticket). Unless someone else has a max-speed one from an event?

I can't wait until this comes out in the UK though.

i was wondering, do multiple cartridge count to get the phione and mew or all the pokes must came from a single game?

Well today Hayley asked trade for a Rampardos I once got from Dan Dan and I was able to refuse a trade offer for a staravia but then I accepted when offering for a magcargo that I once caught in Stark Mountain while pairing with Buck and had been long used for egg hatching so I'm satisfied that magcargo has found itself a caring trainer, lol.

I like the feature where I can deposit all from a box once I'm able to expand my trades and that I can withdraw. I have to keep in mind the pokemon on the wanted list must originate from the first DS game used which is my diamond version which shouldn't be much of a problem unless that game ever accidentally gets reseted.

I like how she asks for the same Pokemon two times in a row occasionally, and can withdraw, redeposit the Pokemon, and have her be overjoyed that I managed to get one into the Ranch. O.o

How nice? :D

I'm hoping someone get's a good mew because one reset per hour is not cool. And lorak won't open his thread anytime this year. :P
Well, know first and foremost that the reason I didn't mention the IVs is because I intend to keep and use it... and I don't believe in cloning. If this was hoping for a cloned Mew to be traded around here, no luck this time around.

So, with that said...

Unless someone else has a max-speed one
Timid with 31 speed, 22-23 special attack. (defenses aren't great... 8 or 9 in HP, Defense, and Special Defense.)

How do you reset the mpr save data? And are you able to copy the save data right before you get mew and sr from there, or is it like pokemon xd where you aren't allowed?

You can simply delete the save data using the Wii's save game editor. Naturally, any pokemon still in the ranch will be gone so make sure you're really careful doing this.

And are you able to copy the save data right before you get mew and sr from there, or is it like pokemon xd where you aren't allowed?
I haven't tried. I'll be obtaining another Mew or two tonight so I'll test for you.

In the Serebii list, certain Pokemon from one of the Pokemon on, forgot which, that come from Hayley (ID: 01000) come from "Lovely place" instead of the places she says they are from. They are, however, "apparently met" at the levels they would be encountered at in the wild. Croagunk, Shroomish, and Yanma come in Safari Balls, as, naturally, she says they come from the Great Marsh. Phione and Mew come in Cherish Balls.

Did a "speed run":
Gentle #489 Phione: 2 - 3 / 22 - 23 / 8 - 9 / 6 - 7 / 22 - 23 / 31
Timid #151 Mew: 21 / 2 - 3 / 4 - 5 / 0 - 1 / 6 - 7 / 16 - 17.
Win. .__.

Also, the IVs on the ones from my regular storage, as well as the special Pokemon, haven't been so hot either.

I asked earlier in the thread about organizational features for the game, and the response was that there were none. However, this isn't entirely true. I debated it for a bit, but I decided to get it, if only because at heart, I'm a nerd for art style. I didn't need the box space (and I think it's crazy that some people do), but I had some Pokemon I didn't really want to release (some UUs and shinies, and shiny UUs), but didn't really have a designated box for. I enjoyed seeing Gyarados and Ponyta in their chibi forms, and I decided to bring over my shiny Jolly Charmander and a few other Pokemon to keep it company. I fiddled around for a bit, and wanted to see if I could withdraw any of Hayley's Pokemon. I found out that I couldn't, but when I chose withdraw, I found a great sorting system. Obviously, I can't sort them by Smogon tiers, but I can sort them by species, nature, marking, move, type, and ability, and then further by stat, level, name, Pokedex number, nickname, item, wieght, and height. It's not "perfect", and I wish I had the option to sort by tier, what counters a certain Pokemon (though I guess not even the Smogon dex sorts by counters), etc., but this is really all I can ask from Nintendo. I agree with Sandman, the game would have been quite a bit better with some minigames thrown in there (Pokemon Stadium, anyone?). The ability to "mass transfer" between games (though I'm not quite to that point yet) would have been nice for some people, and an SRable Mew would have been nice, but I guess we can only ask for so much from a ten dollar game. I'm glad I bought it, I'll probably be sending all of my Pokemon (the ones that aren't in teams, of course) there so I can easily sort them for battles where I mix and match Pokemon on the spot (I do a lot of those with Bam). I think that Ranch is a great tool for someone with a "completed" library of Pokemon.

All in all, I think it was worth the ten dollars seeing my Obama Mii get blown up by the burst ball I got from the toy box. xP

Today saw my ranch grow from 100 up to 250 as I've deposit some more entire boxes off my diamond game onto the ranch. One of them was a manaphy egg I once received in trade with Akayfortyseven so it was cute to see it sitting around along with all the shiny legendaries that were otherwise sitting around doing nothing before but can now enjoy a ride on the spinning wheel or get carried away on floating balloons.

The pokemon that I've received in trades from Hayley I'm starting to use them in GTS to at least get some of the other pokemon she requests for which I never usually carry around.

It looks like tomorrow when my ranch doubles I'll be able to have plenty of space in my diamond game and then start transferring out of my pearl game. I'm in no rush to go for mew at this time.

One of them was a manaphy egg I once received in... <snip>
So, I take it that a Manaphy Egg definitely looks like a Manaphy Egg in My Pokemon Ranch, then? (Means that I definitely need both a Manaphy and a Manaphy Egg, as I thought...)

I asked earlier in the thread about organizational features for the game, and the response was that there were none. However, this isn't entirely true.
I knew somebody either here or on Serebii had asked about this but I couldn't remember which. Sorry I wasn't able to get this information to you.

That is correct.

I wonder how I can use my pictures to download them so I could post here? I could've had a snapshot of shaymin, darkrai & arceus in the same photo at one point.

SD card in the SD card slot. Go to Gallery, then the picture, then push the button that looks like an SD card. Take out card after save, upload to Imageshack, post on Smogon.
Also, you made it into this guy's post on Wii Fanboy. xD

It's probably just because I've posted my picture in three different places...

Here (this thread)
Here (Serebii)
Here (Gaia Online)

Or, perhaps you've posted yours a few places as well? ^.^;;
Newp. Not at all.

EDIT: Some of the Gaia Magikarp pictures made me chuckle.

Also, has anyone else noticed the Pokemon traded from Hayley seem to have the same ability, no matter what? Or is it just my luck?

I'm kinda iffy about getting this game now. I was only going to use it to store my pokes in case my save file got deleted (I have neither a flashcart nor Windows), and get the Mew as a side bonus, but now I find that I'm screwed either way if I lose my save file, and I also can't SR for the stupid Mew.

Just got this today (my wii is modded, meaning I can get it on my PAL wii :)) and am wondering if theres a way to control the camera besides it floating about? Otherwise its pretty fun seeing stuff like mini-Gyarados. Can you withdraw Hayleys pokemon in the ranch?

In Free Mode, which is either Day 2 or Level 5 (forget which):
Nunchuck, Z+up is Zoom in, Z+down is zoom out, stick left and right rotate. + and - zoom in and out a different way.
You can withdraw the Pokemon she trades you, but not the other ones.

EDIT: v Hiya, Gigafrost. xD
