Monotype Mono bug

Pinsir-Mega @ Pinsirite
Ability: Hyper Cutter
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- X-Scissor
- Return
- Quick Attack
- Close Combat
Mega Pinsir has 409 Attack for some reason so he destroys everything
Quick Attack and Return become stab which is absolutely insane
X scissor is just for stab
Close Combat is for annoying rock types

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Knock Off
Bullet punch is amazing because it is
Obligatory Knock Off
U-turn is always a nice thing to have
The only real gripe I have is Superpowers stat lowering but it doesn’t really get anything else i can think of

Volcarona @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Fiery Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Hidden Power [Ground]
I’m not sure if I should swap fiery dance for fire blast or not
Bug buzz is just for stab purposes and hitting through sub
HP Ground is for purely other fire types

Ribombee @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Sweet Veil
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Moonblast
- Bug Buzz
- Energy Ball
Honestly, I’m probably going to scrap it, all of its bases are covered.
Mega Pinsir for fighting.
Everyone except Galvantula for dark.
Buzzwole and Galvantula for dragon.
Galvantula for webs.
The problem is that I don’t know what to replace it with.

Galvantula @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunder
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Sticky Web
A very good web setter because of its insane speed
91% accurate Thunder is pretty reliable
I’m considering swapping Energy ball for Volt switch because I don’t really use it too much
HP Ice is for Dragons and Gliscor, but also doesn’t see much usage because of Buzzwoles ice punch

Buzzwole @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Leech Life
Leech Life is very nice recovery and good now for some reason
Ice Punch helps out with its quad flying weakness
EQ is good coverage
Close Combat is Close Combat

How did you decide on HP Ground on volc for fires, not rock? I just wonder if you might get more out of rock.

Not too sure what else on Scizor besides Superpower, I guess theres brick break if screens are much of a thing(this bring monotype I doubt it.)

Over Ribombee I think there are still a lot of good bug types. You have the Pranksters Volbeat and Illumise, and fire neutrals like Crustle or Armaldo(also neutral to flying! And gives you physical set up,) Golisopod and Araquinid. Others could be Escavailer, Durant, Scolipede, Vikavolt, Pheromosa, or Shuckle. And that's just from this gen's dex, there's more cause this is nat dex.

HP Ground hits Heatran which other wise walls it.

Hello, Welcome to NatDex Monotype. Thats a mostly neat bug team you have there. I'd suggest a few changes though.
:pinsir_mega:
Pinsir-Mega @ Pinsirite
Ability: Moxie
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Return
- Quick Attack
- Close Combat
Mega Pinsir doesn't really need Bug STAB at all, as Bug STAB is really underwhelming. Because of this, I suggest using Swords Dance over that move, as this lets the bug be truly scary. After a Swords Dance, Aerilate Quick Attack is pretty lethal. Also, I changed its pre-mega ability to Moxie, as there are times that you can pick off something with QA, then Mega with a boost in Attack.

:volcarona:
Volcarona @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Fiery Dance
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Ground]
Another "Bug STAB isn't really good" comment. Psychic lets Volcarona greatly pressure Toxapex, allowing it to possibly break down Poison teams on top of Steel teams late-game. If you don't want to use Psychic, keeping Bug Buzz isn't too bad, considering you have Scizor and Mega Pinsir to hurt Toxapex.

:scizor:
Scizor @ Life Orb / Metal Coat
Ability: Technician
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower / Dual Wingbeat / Bug Bite
A suggestion, but you can try using a Swords Dance set, as this lets Scizor wear down bulky walls such as Corviknight, Slowbro, and Porygon2 more effectively for Mega Pinsir to sweep late-game. The Speed investment here lets it outspeed Belly Drum Azumarill, while also outspeeding base 100 and below speed mons like Jirachi, non-Heavy Duty Boots Victini, and Urshifu-R.

:ribombee:
He isn't really bad, but you can check out these options:

:araquanid:
Araquanid @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Focus Sash
Ability: Water Bubble
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Atk / 156 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sticky Web
- Liquidation
- Mirror Coat
- Magic Coat / Toxic
Araquanid can be an alternative Sticky Webs setter. Magic Coat bounces back entry hazards such as Stealth Rocks on the opposing team, and Taunt from Taunt users such as Cobalion. Mirror coat lets it deal with stuff like Kommonium-Z Kommo-o which can be a pain to deal with for Bug. Liquidation lets it deal with Landorus-I, and deals a lot against Celesteela. Focus Sash lets it possibly lure in and remove Mega Diancie and Landorus-I, while also allowing you a guaranteed use of Sticky Web or Mirror Coat. The Speed investment lets Araquanid outspeed Celesteela, btw.

:armaldo:
Armaldo @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 84 Def / 172 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Knock Off
- Stone Edge
He's more of a luxury than a necessity, because Heavy Duty Boots exist now. He can spin away hazards for Mega Pinsir, while also being able to set Stealth Rock. Stone Edge lets it deal with Zapdos, Mega Charizard-Y, and Victini which annoy Bug teams.

Should you use Webs Araquanid though, you can try out this Galvantula set:
:galvantula:
Galvantula @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature / Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunder
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Agility
After an Agility, it can clean up Water and Flying teams due to its Bolt-Beam + Energy Ball combo. It even outspeeds Mega Swampert under rain. You can try for a Modest nature to hit harder [Notably having a higher chance to OHKO M.Swampert], though, but not being able to outspeed Landorus-I and Victini in a pinch seems not so good.

Also, for the Sticky Web set, if you're finding that you dont need Energy Ball, you can replace it with Thunder Wave, letting you cripple something like Kommonium-Z Kommo-o, Omniboosting Jirachi, and making Victini more manageable is always a good thing.

Here are the modified teams. I hope you continue to enjoy NatDex Monotype :blobnom:
