OM [Mix and Mega] Lugia

Lugia @ Absolite
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Aeroblast
- Psychic Noise
- Recover

Aeroblasting its way through the competition, Lugia capitalizes on the chaotic nature of the Mix and Mega metagame! Functioning as a robust setup sweeper with significant bulk and Magic Bounce, Lugia finds itself near the top of the food chain among the many excellent exploiters of the tier's mechanics. Psychic Noise is an exceptional move, as it favors Lugia in Calm Mind wars against Pokemon like Cresselia and Arceus formes. Absolite is the item of choice, as the Speed and Special Attack boost granted by it allows Lugia to excel as a setup sweeper, and Magic Bounce deters any attempts at using status moves or phazing. Despite this, Lugia can still struggle against notable Pokemon like Garganacl, which can wear it down with Salt Cure, and Gyaradosite Clodsire, which uses Mold Breaker to use Toxic on Lugia through Magic Bounce, so teammates that can handle these threats like Arceus-Ground and Urshifu-R are appreciated. Similarly, Lugia fails to hit Steel-types like Corviknight and Magearna hard without several boosts, making offensive wallbreakers such as Hisuian Arcanine and Raging Bolt valuable partners.

Guardian of more than just the seas, Lugia capitalizes on the chaotic nature of the Mix and Mega metagame as a robust offensive threat with defensive utility granted by the Absolite it wields I think for Social Media it would probably look better if you separated it so that first sentence is [insert catchy line] and then you elaborate on Lugia's role in the Meta. Aeroblast gives Lugia a strong, reliable Flying STAB to dish out considerable damage as it sets up You probably don't need to elaborate on this as STAB moves are in general quite straightfoward, it's fine to keep the Psychic Noise line since there's a reason it's run over stronger options. Psychic Noise is an exceptional move for Lugia as it prevents the foe from healing, allowing it to be favored in Calm Mind set up wars against opposing Pokemon like Cresselia and Arceus formes Lunala Lugia can't reliably beat CM Lunala due to being weak to moongeist + psychic noise simpy doing too little. Absolite is the item of choice over other Mega Stones, like the Diancite, because of the combination of the boost to Speed and access to Magic Bounce, stopping any attempts at status or entry hazard setting against it This is a little misleading, Absolite isn't really used to block entry hazards (it's just an added bonus), it's mostly to avoid Toxic's or Whirlwind, it's also used over diancite du to better stat distribution (aka not having lower defenses which allows lugia to acutally make use of it's bulk). Might be worth so just simplify it so you mention it giving good stats & avoiding common anti-setup tools like the aformentioned Toxic & Whirlwind/Roar. While Lugia functions as a hazard setting detterent, it can still struggle against notable setters like Garganacl and Hisuian Samurott As mentioned earlier, Lugia isn't used to counter hazards inherently, it's a setup sweeper. Mention instead some troublesome foes like Gyaradosite Clodsire (who can shut you down thanks to mold breaker + toxic) and Garganacl (who can similarly shut you down with salt cure), so teammates that can handle these threats like Arceus-Ground and Urshifu-R Eternatus are appreciated. Similarly, Lugia fails to hit Steel-types like Corviknight and Magearna hard without several boosts, making offensive wallbreakers such as Hisuian Arcanine and Raging Bolt Regieleki Regieleki is more notably an offensive pivot & good at cleaning up endgames as opposed to raw wallbreaking valuable partners.

Would appreciate a recheck before I stamp, Sorry for all the long comments but hopefully they help explain what Lugia does and what it has trouble with.

Aeroblasting its way through the competition, Lugia capitalizes on the chaotic nature of the Mix and Mega metagame! Functioning as a robust setup sweeper with defensive utility granted by the Absolite it wields While Magic Bounce is nice, I think highlighting it's massive bulk is more important here, so maybe just mention it's bulk and then Magic Bounce, Lugia finds itself near the top of the food chain among the many excellent abusers of the tiers mechanics. Psychic Noise is an exceptional move for Lugia as it prevents the foe from healing, allowing it to be favored in Calm Mind set up wars against Pokemon like Cresselia and Arceus formes.
