Then I was lied to and made to look like a fool
Wish I wasn't, I mined 5/6 to have enough to make a Pickaxe (to mine Obsidian) and make an Enchantment Table. Could have gotten more out of it.
Wish I didn't have to spend the next 24 hours on a train. I was just beginning to make progress on my house.
Hopefully spawn is ready for the wheat farm by the time I return.

So apparently if you go to the docks and look left, you'll see a huge gaping hole that leads down to a large cavern. Is that natural or did somebody already head down there?
I found that on my way out though, when I entered the cavern I had actually dug my own hole 4-5 blocks down in the ocean floor directly underneath the dock and fell in. Here's some pictures and notes from my journey!
That was just a break from my habitual mining, as I found the cavern by accident while drowning myself one time...anybody have any adventures yet?
EDIT: Oh yeah, it seems if I have Netflix running on another computer and I die/respawn, my router completely crashes. All devices get disconnected, I lose wireless signal, and then it reboots. Anybody else have similar experiences?
I found that on my way out though, when I entered the cavern I had actually dug my own hole 4-5 blocks down in the ocean floor directly underneath the dock and fell in. Here's some pictures and notes from my journey!
When I dug my hole down there, I happened to land in the corner of this cave/platform. Just a few blocks off and I would have hit more stone without going anywhere, or falling much further. I was promptly met by an Enderman, but he was cool about it and left me alone.
So here's a cave I was met with upon landing. I lit it up with a few torches before running into a zombie mob, so I turned back.
Turning directly around, I was met with a sheer cliff!
The water below was too shallow to cushion a jump, but walking along a narrow walkway along the cliff I found some water that ran two ways: one formed a waterfall leading below, and the other end ran into a cave. Down the cave I found a Creeper (not pictured) and a Spider, so I placed torches as close as I could and hightailed it out of there.
Going down the waterfall slowly I landed on a ledge, which the Enderman teleported to!
He wasn't going anywhere so I couldn't look along the ledge any further, so I continued down the waterfall to the floor of the cavern, which housed several different ores.
Continuing in either direction led to a dead end, once you got past the water and lava.

as most of you know, we've been hard at work on the server these past couple of days. here's a glimpse of what we've done so far:
a lot of hard work went into the spawn. initially, we flattened the land and cleared the surrounding forests. then, in order to get the cobblestone required for all the stone slabs you see, we had to hollow out an entire mountain. naturally, this yielded other resources like coal and iron which were used for other stuff. wyverii led this project, and a lot of us contributed stacks of coal and cobblestone.
afterwards, to deal with the growing problem of hunger, we set up a farm
with spawn work in full swing, layell and asdfy began work on an animal farm. while they built the infrastructure, i, penguin344 and tsuk were in charge of collecting and herding the mobs. it so happened that the particular island the spawn was on was almost devoid of anything other than sheep, so cows, chickens and pigs had to be herded across the sea from another island. chaos soon ensued when the animals refused to enter their holding areas. after a few tries, however, we managed to finally get them in.
CHAMPIONS' ROCK (and the champions' guild)
the champions' guild is just a fun thing we set up to commemorate the historic deeds of the first explorers on the server (dan, az, buff, me and kinneas). it's built atop champions' rock, currently the tallest mountain on the server. while it's still a work in progress, we have five rooms for each of us and a mead hall and duelling room slated for development! we plan for it to be a jorrvaskr of sorts.

Aww... I missed the group shot. Anyway, I'm surprised the server is coming along so fast. Are we ever gonna let up on the borders? I see some vines right outside of one corner.

I'm not sure what the problem is, I'm leaving in five minutes though sorry personal life calls!
For anyone who still wants to help with spawn you can:
-Gather slime balls for wool squish and enchantment table
-Set up the nether portal on the water/use one of the other nether portals, grab blaze rods and get some potion stands for the spawn shoppe
-Fix my crappy tree farm
-Gather redstone for enchantment piston room, and smoothstone generator
-reshape mountains and nearby spawn area to look more natural
-torch up the place
-If CactusMaster/forks or Xaq is on discuss hollowing out under spawn for railway (this needs planning)
-Grab coloured wool for some of the buildings (potion shoppe and animal farm)
There is still lots to go! Peace.

Do we have any idea why the server went down?
Also, we need a bigger slime farm and we need to light up all the caves. Soon we are going to start suffering from sticky piston withdraw, and that won't be pretty.

Layell, I have 60 redstone, assuming that the server will still be the same from the crashn point. You can have it all.
