XY OU Mega Slowbro Team

Hello everyone

my name is TACLachsfish. I'm really new to competitive battleing but I'm really trying to get into it but it is really hard. I actually created a Team that kinda works for me and I wanted to share it with you guys so maybe i could get one tip or maybe another.

First of we start with my Mega-Slowbro:

Slowbro @ Slowbronite
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Slack Off
- Scald
- Psyshock

I use my Slowbro mostly as counters to Charizard X and other Fire types. I also use it to early kill Ferrothorns and other Pokemon that are weak against Fire-Type attacks. Psychock is used against against fighting Poison and Fighting types. Slowbros role in the fight is mostly getting early kills against unprepared grass-type Pokemon.

Next is my Special-Sweeper Serpirior:

Serperior @ Life Orb
Ability: Contrary
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Rash Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Synthesis
- Protect
- Dragon Pulse

So Serperior with Contrary is really strong because Leaf Storm does not decrease your special attack anymore. If you get kill a Water-Type with it other Pokemon were you do normal damage will also get hit really hard. Synthesis is obviously used for Sustain. Protect to scout other attacks to know what your oppenent is planing. Dragon Pulse is mostly used after you got atleast one Boost from Leaf Storm
so it is hurting even more.

Next on the list ist my Phsyical Landorus:

Landorus @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Earth Power
- Rock Polish
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Psychic

So I use Landorus a lot against Heatron , obviously because of his 4x Ground weakness. Rock Polish is to Set-up to outspeed other Pokemon which you would have a Speed-Tie with. HP Ice mostly against other Landorus but can also be used Dragon and or Flying types as well. Psychic is gread against Poison-Types which would counter my Sylveon.

And because we already spoke about it now my Sylveon:

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Moonblast
- Toxic
- Protect

Sylveon is a great Counter for any Dragon-Type like Latios/Latias or Charizard X and others. Hyper Voice will be STAB because of the ability Pixilate so the damage increases. Moonblast also just as a STAB move. Toxic and Protect to stall a little while you do damage.

If my Slowbro dies I need a Steal-Type counter so I choose you Magnezone:

Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magnet Pull
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 136 Def / 252 SpA / 120 SpD
Modest Nature
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt

Most important attack is HP Fire. I use it to kill Ferrothorns and other Steel-Type Pokemon because the opponent can not switch out due to the Magnet Pull ability. Flash Cannon is used against Fairy-Type Pokemon and also STAB. Volt Switch just for doing a little bit of damage before you switch out. Thunderbolt is also STAB against mostly Water/Flying-Types.

And last but not least my Assault Vest Tyranitar:

Tyranitar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Stream
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 192 HP / 64 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Flamethrower
- Crunch

I like to use Assault Vest on Tyranitar because you can use your EV's on Defend and do not need to worry so much about Special attacks as well. Rock Slide is very Strong against Talonflame due to a 4x Rock weakness. Earthquake is great and mostly used against most of the Ground/Grass-Type Pokemon for example Serpirior but you should be aware of your Grass-Type weakness. Flamethrower is also great to get rid of annoying Grass or Steal-Type Pokemon. Crunch is used as STAB against Psychic and Ghost-Types. I really like Tyranitars bulkyness that's why I use it.

Overall i really like my Team even so it probably has a lot of weaknesses. But to early kill Ferrothorns is really funny because some opponents even forfeit after this. I know this Team is probably really bad for others but i enjoy using it. Feel free to post comments on it.

Well, my suggestions are Sylveon<Clefable, & give Slowbro Calm Mind over Fireblast. Serperior benefits with Giga Drain over Synthesis, as it is too frail to survive a hard hit.

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect
- Aromatherapy

Edit: It may be worth non Choice locked Magnezone Life Orb/Air Balloon work.

Some small nitpicks:

Slowbro @ Slowbronite
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Slack Off
- Scald
- Calm Mind

Another option is a bulkier approach with 248 HP / 80 Def / 176 SpD and a Bold Nature.
- evs assure lo diggersby doesn't 2hko with return after rocks and by extension ohko with +2 return while providing a healthy amount of special bulk to take on special attackers like latios, keldeo, and with cm boosts even some mons with super effective stabs
- alt spread of 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 SpD assures latios doesn't ohko with draco after rocks and keldeo doesn't 2hko with specs hydro after rocks
.

Serperior @ Life Orb
Ability: Contrary
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Synthesis
- Hidden Power Fire
- Dragon Pulse

And your team lacks stealth rocks. I'd recommend support Tyranitar over AV.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Crunch / Pursuit
- Ice Beam / Fire Blast
- Stone Edge / Rock Slide

Nice team.... But I agree with Houndoomite about clefable > sylveon especially with unaware. Your Slowbro needs Calm mind and an EV spread of 248 HP / 232 Def / 24 SpD and a Bold/Calm Nature. With Calm mind you will be able to tank attacks from both sides of the spectrum. HP ground is better than Hp fire or protect on serperior seeing that your Magnezone already has HP Fire and giga drain>synthesis. Moonblast is redundant on sylveon as hyper voice hits much harder. So you could run wish or heal bell on sylveon and make use of it as a cleric.

Well hope I helped glhf playing :)

If you really are thinking about different Hidden Powers, [fighting] doesn't lower your speed/spa more than fire, and hits AB-Heatran, provided it comes in on rocks or you have +2 spa.
