ORAS OU Mega Sharpedo Team.

Since ORAS came out, M-Sharpdo has been my favorite and I was hoping it would get some recognition this Gen. So I decided to make this team.

Samehada (Sharpedo) (M) @ Sharpedonite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Ice Fang/Ice Beam/Zen Headbutt

It's a simple but strong set for Mega Sharpedo. Obviously protect first turn to get the speed boost. Waterfall is its main stab move for power and the occasional flinch. It's takes care of anyone weak to it or any predicted switch in. Crunch boosted by strong does major damage to anything that doesn't resist. The last move is just based on preference. Ice Fang is strong jaw boosted but Ice Beam takes care of Gliscor better. Zen Headbutt is for any fighting types that come out against it. The name comes from the ablaze Kisame used in the Naruto Manga meaning "Sharkhide"

KingNappy (Gengar) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sludge Wave
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Taunt

Named after my favorite youtuber, Gengar is there to stop anything faster that M-Sharpedo. Also it takes care of Fairy and Fighting types such as Sylveon or Conkeldurr. Taunt is for pokemon that can T-Wave or Will-O which can hurt Sharpedo. It s a standard Moveset for there is really not much to go into detail.

Mufasa (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off/Superpower

Another standard Moveset. This Noble King of the beasts is for any electric types that try to mess with sharpedo. Superpower or Knock Off is a choice to take down Chansey which stops Sharpedo's killing spree. Knock off to get rid of Eviolite of Superpower which does major damage to it. Which ever one is your choice.

Daquan's Mixtape (Heatran) (M) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Roar/Toxic

Heatran is the main lead. Stealth rock to get residual damage making it easier to sweep. Lava plume for nessecary burns. Earth Power for other Heatran leads. Roar is for any pokemon that tries to set up or Toxic for any pokemon that won't die quickly. The name...I'll let you think about it.

SwitchBlade (Scizor) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
- U-turn
- Pursuit

The reason I named this thing switchblade is because like one he has many uses. One he is a physical wall. Two, U-Turn for predictions and a save way to get out. Three Pursiut to take care of annoying Ghost or Psychic types which could a cause a problem. Roost is an easy way to get HP back

SunnySide (Chansey) (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Thunder Wave
- Heal Bell
- Soft-Boiled

Turns out the most annoying pokemon to stop M-Sharepdo is also it's greatest ally. This thing of beauty eats up hits that Sharpedo never could and Heal Bell helps in case someone gets statuses like Sharepedo with a burn. This adds the bulk that I think this team really need.

So I was hoping for any critisism and help this team needed and if anyone need to be changed or edited.

Hi TantrumT-Tar. Interesting team.

Just off the bat I notice a huge weakness to SubCM Keldeo. Your team doesn't really have much to handle it.

For this reason I would suggest Latios > Chansey. A cleric on your team isn't really necessary because you shouldn't really be switching Sharpedo into possible burns. Latios also offers your team a hazard remover which you are currently lacking and it gives you a more reliable switch-in to stuff like Breloom.

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Roost
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock

I think Roost would be nice for survivability since this would end up being your primary switch in to a lot of things. If you end up thinking you really need a cleric, I would recommend Healing Wish Latias, but this set should work fine for your team.

Thanks. I didn't even realize that Keldeo takes down Landorus, Sharpedo, Heatran and Chansey. I think I will want to go with Latias since it has a bit more special def. bulk.

I definitely agree with running Latios over Chansey on this team since Chansey is honestly a bit too passive, and Keldeo just destroys it otherwise. In fact, as you said yourself, Latias would be an even better option since it is an even more consistent answer to Keldeo, its higher bulk enabling it to take its attacks better. However, another option if you don't fel like you need hazard control is running Celebi. Celebi is not only an even better answer to Keldeo, not fearing Icy Wind much or caring about Scald burns, it's also a secondary answer to Azumarill in case Scizor goes down/gets trapped. Much like Chansey, it has a bunch of support options namely Heal Bell, Thunder Wave, can pass Substitutes to Sharpedo, and has great synergy with Hetaran in general, giving you a Fire/Water/Grass core. However, this leaves you weaker to Charizard-Y who can switch into Scizor very easily and wreck havoc, so this is up to you

Also, and this is just a nitpick, but I would suggest Hydro Pump on Sharpedo. The reason for this is that Hydro Pump actually hits all of Waterfall's targets much harder, getting a 2HKO on Skarmory and Gliscor and an OHKO on Scarf Landorus-T, and hits physically defensive Pokemon in general. It is therefore better than Waterfall for the most part despite the lower accuracy, and though you do lose out on bulk it's not like Sharpedo is making great use of said bulk in the first place. Also, I would recommend Poison Jab on Sharpedo, since Hydro Pump covers pretty much all of Ice Fang/Beam's targets and Poison Jab has the advantage of hitting Azumarill, Clefable and Chesnaught for decent damage while still hitting Mega-Altaria, and the Poison chance can really helps. However Zen Headbutt is also nice for Keldeo which you are weak to, so this is up to you.

Another thing I would do is run Superpower on Scizor over Pursuit, this enables it to check Bisharp which hits most of your team very hard minus Sharpedo which you don't want to send out too early. Pursuit doesn't seem very useful since Sharpedo smashes all Pursuit targets with Crunch anyway.

I would run Taunt on Heatran, this enables you to actually beat Clefable as opposed to just phazing it out, and stop MVenusaur from Leech Seeding you to death as you chip away at it with Lava Plume and stop it from recovering up. Also, an Air Balloon on a defensive Heatran set is contradictory. Defensive Heatran really needs the passive recovery of Leftovers to consistently deal with threats such as Latios and Mega-Venusaur. Air Balloon Heatran, however, needs to make better use of the turns where its Balloon is intact and therefore would run a more offensive set. So, you should either run a defensive Leftovers set or an offensive Air Balloon set. Whichever you choose is up to you, but personally I would recommend a defensive set more. This does makes you quite a lot weaker to opposing Heatran, but I'll get to that later.

Finally, you have no way of dealing with Mega-Sableye at all, especially if it's at +1, and you desperately need a good counter to it. I would replace Gengar by Manaphy. Bewteen Scizor and Heatran, you already have Steels covered, and I don't really think you need a Fighting or Ground immunity too much as long as you go with Latias/Celebi, and you already have Landorus-T too. Manaphy gives you a great stallbreaker which sets up all over Sableye, as well as a perfect answer to Heatran. Also, if you can get a Rain Dance up that might come in handy with your Sharpedo later which is nice.

Thx Albacore! For Heatran, I'll run a defensive leftover set. Celebi to work really well and with Latias that gives me two fairy weaknesses. Taunt on Heatran seems like a good idea since I don't have gyro ball ferrothorns which wrecks Clefable. The Sharpedo seems odd and I like it. It makes Sharpedo seem unpredictable and no one will see that coming. Manaphy is a forgotten pokemon so it seems like a risky wild card to me because I rarely see it and don't know how well it will work with other pokemon. I'll try to use the Team you edited Albacore and see how well it works.
