ORAS OU Mega-Gardevoir Balanced

Hey guys I'm back, I left this game for almost a year, but now I'm ready to compite with my new team and with new energy!

TEAM BUILDING PROCESS:
gardevoir-mega.png

I started with an insanely powerful wallbreaker and one of the best Fairy types in OU, Mega Gardevoir.
gardevoir-mega.png
kyurem-black.png
heatran.png

Them I inserted a Dragon a Stell that provides synergy and possible check for Flying.

Heatran had the SpD Set so i added a Physical Wall and Keldo that can also counter Water and Steel types.

Finally I added Serperio building a great Fire-Water-Grass core, but I was really in trouble againt Mega-Pinsir so i decided to makes some changes.

I subsituted Gliscor with Defensive Landorus and Keldeo with SpD Rotom transforming Heatran into a Special Sweeper.

I discovered that I was really frail against Conkeldurr so i decided to add Skarmory that is a good defogger too.

A CLOSER LOOK:

kyurem-black.gif

Kyurem-Black @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 32 SpA / 224 Spe
Naive Nature
- Ice Beam
- Outrage
- Fusion Bolt
- Iron Head

Kyurem is a tremendous Physical Sweeper/Revenge Killer,he has a huge 170 base attack and with Choice scarf can outspeed any other non-scarfed Dragon. Iron Head it's great with a bit of predict for entering Fairy 2HOKing them. He has great symergy with Gardevoir also with the capability to counter Phycal Flying type with his STAB Ice Beam or with a huge Fusion Bolt.

gardevoir-mega.gif

Gardevoir-Mega (F) @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 16 HP / 8 Def / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Calm Mind

Gardevoir is my main Special Stallbreaker, after one Calm Mind and with the capability to go through Substitute is able to knock down huge threat like Mega-Venusaur and even Chansey/Stell-types (with Focus Blast).Gardevoir can also use its typing to switch into Dragon-types and threaten them out with Pixilate-boosted insane Hyper Voice.

landorus-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide

Landorus is my lead Stealth Rock setter. His role he's very important to counter Flying type and let Gardevoir to sweep the opponent team with no trouble, and I think that the Defensive set is the best choice for this scope. He create a pretty good U-turn/Volt Switch core with Rotom to keep the Momentum too. Earthquake is the main STAB usefull against Stell types that could stop Kyurem and Rock Slide agian for Flyng types.

rotom-wash.gif

Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 248 SpD / 8 Spe
Calm Nature
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hydro Pump
- Rest

I decided to invest in Special Defense with Rotom mainly becouse I have other Physical Wall like Skarmory and Landorus too. Rotom is also useful to check Water types letting Heatran able to sweep. He is the other half of the Momentum core and he takes a few damege by non boosted-Talonflame too. Will-O-Wisp allows Rotom-W to inflict burns on the foe and deter physical attackers.

heatran.gif

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Fire Blast
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power

I think that Heatran is one of the most useful mon in the metagame and could fit well in any team. He has great types synergy forming a Dragon-Fairy-Steel core. I really like the Sub-Tran set here (at first it tryed the SpD Set) becouse Heatran's offensive and defensive prowess often forces switches; this makes a Substitute set workable allowing him to attack without worry of being OHKOed by powerful attacks such as Terrakion's Close Combat. This set is also great to counter Ferrothorn without the issue of Leach Seed. I preferred Earth Power over HP Ice beucouse I alredy have the powerfull Kyurem Ice Beam.

skarmory.gif

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Whirlwind
- Roost
- Defog
- Brave Bird

Skarmory was the last pokemon I added to the team. To be honest I really dislike Skarmory but I noticed that he could have check other big threats. I was really in trouble agaist Conkeldurr (due to Poison Jab) and other Fighting types, I felt the necessity of a defogger in order to let Kyurem sweep and I felt the lack of a dedicate Physical wall and the iron bird can solve all this problems also giving the Whirlwind support to switch Sword/Dragon Dance-boosted mon.

EXPORTABLE:

Hey, pretty nice team you have here :))

I do not like the look of Skarmory on your build. I like the offensive feel to this team, and Skarmory just slows everything down. I think Choice Scarf Excadrill serves your purpose better, as it can revenge kill things like Talonflame, which checks Mega Gardevoir. With this change, I also feel like Talonflame would fit your team better over Heatran, as it does everything Heatran does, but also gives you a revenge killer against rain teams, which otherwise clean your team. Talonflame also helps check Conkeldurr, which you said you had a weakness to. I do not think Conkeldurr is worth worrying about, but Talonflame does help with it if you are worried.

As I am suggesting Choice Scarf Excadrill, you can try running Life Orb Kyurem-Black. The increased damage output gives you a much better chance against balanced and stall teams, and is a far superior wallbreaker compared to Choice Scarf variants.

Excadrill @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker

Talonflame @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe

Kyurem-Black @ Life Orb
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 20 Atk / 252 SpA / 236 Spe

- Earth Power
- Fusion Bolt
- Roost

Try these changes out, and tell me what you think? I decided on Bulk Up + Taunt Talonflame, as it helps with Mega Sableye (I know you have Mega Gardevoir, but I like two checks to that Pokemon), as well as Clefable. Hope this rate helps you!

Hey Lelouch94 the team is pretty decent but running Rotom-W and Skarmory with Heatran is quite passive as you can already deal with birdspam using Rotom-w + Heatran. Also Skarmory isn't a good defogger as no rock setter is in fear with Skarmory and the game will be stally with rocks and defog ongoing again and again. So I think Latios > Skarmory , Latios not only gives you a Scald switch-in but also and Keldeo Counter. Now you looks really weal to Dark Types , Bisharp and Weavile especially. So I think Keldeo > Rotom-Wash , Keldeo really helps you agiants dark spam and as well as rain. At last I totally agree with yuruuu , LO Kyurem-b helps you in breaking both Stall and Balance to an extend. At last I think Scarfed Heatran helps you in dealing with Birdspam.

Hey Lelouch. Nice team, However, I suggest Rotom's set be changed to
Rotom-W @ Leftovers
-Hydro Pump
-Pain Split
-
Volt Switch
-Will-o-Wisp

I suggest this becuase Rest isn't as usefull on rotom as it was before knock off. Once you lose your berry, you cant rest at all (Unless your opponent is choiced into E-Quake). I suggest Pain Split to deal sometimes small, sometimes extreme damage to special walls that may switch in on rotom, and Regen's it's HP at the same time. Although Pain split works when your opponents Pokemon is at low Hp, it can be very rewarding when used on a Chancey/Clefable switch in. Leftovers give passive recovery and gives the item slot a more active use. If you go Charilax Blaster's route, then Keldeo > Rotom is better imo.

Hey,really nice team but it have some flaws but no worry i'll try to fix them for you.

Kyurem-B isn't a really good scarf : stealth rocks weakness, not really usefull resistences and Outrage force you to lock yourself in a move for 2-3 turns.
Skarmory isn't really a good Defoger because most of common stealth rock which are annoying for Kyurem-B beat him (Heatran/Garchomp),Specially Defensive set is better on the OU metagame to counter fairy like M-Gardevoir/M-Diancie.
SubTran isn't really good on the metagame with thing like Garchomp/Landorus-T and water type.
You are also weak to Bisharp which is really a big threat for your team.

First of all,i'd suggest you to drop the Choice Scarf on Kyurem-B and to use LO/E-Belt over it.Kyurem-B have the ability to break Balanced and Stall with these items and paired with Gardevoir it can be really a monster,Hidden Power Fire allow you to lure Scizor/Ferrothorn chople berry for your M-Gardevoir which is really cool.

You have some problem with Bisharp and you lack of a scarfer/revenge kill so this is why i'd recommend to use Keldeo over Rotom-W,he will help you deal with Bisharp

Latios over Skarmory will allow you to have a better defoger and a which also give another good check to Keldeo.

I founded a really huge weakness to Gengar and to Serperior, Weavile will you against both of them.

Hey cool team. Scarf Kyruem is a huge threat as a cleaner and has immense power.
It needs Fairies removed though and Steels weakend to fulfill the job as a cleaner. Iron Head on Kyurem is helpful to lure Clefable in, but after knowing you are Scarf by calcing the damage or if you reveal the item, they can switch out and heal back up on your Rotom, Skamory and Heatran(!), since you don't run Iron Head or Taunt on them.

I'll talk about the offensive part of your team first. Gardevoir (Wallbreaker) and Kyurem (sweeper/revenger).
There is no Life Orb on Kyurem needed, because you use it as a revenger, not as a Wallbreaker. Gardevoir takes over the wallbreaking job, together with Heatran.
On Stall, Chansey can Toxic (or T-Wave) you, crippling Gardevoir, after that, they send in their steel type to make you lose health. Clefable sets up after T-Waving you. Because I miss the stallbreaking capabilities of your team, I suggest to change Heatran to the stallbreaking set with Magma Storm. This allows you to trap problematic Pokemon like Clefable (so that you can spam Outrage freely) or Chansey which Gardevoir can't break realiably. You had few answers to SpD Talonflame. It can't beat Rotom reliably, because you do ~12-24 % damage on the turn it roosts and it can stall out your Hydro Pumps if you miss a few.
0 SpA Rotom-W Hydro Pump vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Talonflame: 224-266 (62.3 - 74%)
282-m.png

Calm Mind makes Gardevoir a terrifying beast, but WillO is the better option here, to burn and thus weaken Pokemon that like to switch in, like Mega Metagross, Mega Scizor, SpD Jirachi, Skamory, Bronzong. Wearing down Gardevoir checks which are steel types is necessary, Kyurem also profits from Steels being burned.

Looking at your defensive core of Skamory, Rotom and Landous, they can be improved too. It gets beaten by Keldeo and Charizard Y too easily. SpD Rotom is not a good option in the current Metagame, because special attackers like Keldeo and Latis hit you using your defensive stat.
149.png
>
645-s.png

My suggestion is SpD Dragonite>Landorus. It switches into Keldeo, Charizard Y and also beats Scizor with Fire Punch. Because Scizor it is a threat to Gardevoir and Kyurem I chose Dragonite over the Latis. That forces you to run Stealth Rock on Skamory. The lack of Whirlwind can be remedied by using Toxic on Heatran, WillO on Gardevoir and Thunder Wave on Rotom, to cripple Setup sweepers like Charizard X. If they have Earthquake DD, then Twave it. Otherwise Heatran beats it. Be careful with Substitute users though.

Hey, nice team! I noticed that Special Defensive Talonflame looks like a pain to defeat, as it's able to check Mega Gardevoir, burn Kyurem + Lando-T, PP Stall Rotom-Wash out of Hydro pumps, Taunt Skarmory so it can't do anything, and then Heatran isn't able to deal much damage unless you're able to hit Talonflame with Earth Power when it hits Roost. Heatran is your best chance at defeating it easily, so for it to be able to defeat Talonflame, I think you can run Stone Edge over Earth Power or Substitute. Stone Edge allows Heatran to easily KO Talonflame, and also allows Heatran to have a way to quickly defeat Mega Charizard Y, which is able to get a free kill every time it switches in (it has the most trouble with defeating Heatran since he has to rely on Focus Blast, not to mention that Heatran is able to comfortably switch into Fire Blast and Solarbeam). If you decide to run it over Substitute, you have the option to run a Choice Scarf, since it'll help Heatran outspeed Mega Charizard Y and hopefully pick up a quick kill.

heatran.png
: Stone Edge > Earth Power or Substitute
Optional: Choice Scarf > Leftovers if Stone Edge

That's it for now, let me know if my suggestions helped or not and in case of the latter I'll come up with something else. Hope I helped ^_^

Hi guys thanks for all this advices, I really appriciate that and I will try to reply to all.
First of all I see that lots of you says to change Kyurem to the LO set and the fact that so many people suggest to do this make me think I'm wrong, but after some test I saw that the Kyurem's utility to the way I play was really decreased. The reason is mainly beacouse the Scarf set (probably for a good reason) isn't really used so I can lure lots of pokemon that ara sure to outspeed him. I recognize that this choice imply lots of issues, mainly becouse i need to switch out him very often and his Rock weakness do not help, but this is the with I can fell more confortable.
yuruuu:
I'm testing your suggestions but for now I'm not very sure of this changes mainly becouse I'm not a huge fun of Scarf-Drill and I'm a bit in trouble against not Earth weak Stell not giving Talonflame Flare Blitz.
Charilax Blastler & EdwardElric15:
you both have made similar advices and as you can see in the teambuilding process I was using Keldeo previously but then I decided to remove it becouse i felt a great weakness to Mega Pinsir that can litterally destroy Keldeo, Heatran and Gardevoir so I preferred more defensive mons like Rotom-W and Skarmory. Although you also suggest to run Scarf-Tran (suggested by Team Pokepals too) and this could help me against Pinsir but as I say above I'm not really sure to remove Choice Scarf from Kyurem, but I will test better your advices for sure!

shui3:
Thaks for having testing my team, but unfortunatly I haven't the time to test your suggestions for long, but I found them very interesting so i will test those for sure. (in particlular T-wave on Rotom could be very usefull to help Gardevoir sweeping but quite all time I wanted to have will-o-wisp instead)

You can give Talonflame Flare Blitz if you think that is what would work best, I just thought that Clefable might be a problem in practice, so I gave you the Taunt stallbreaker set :) Steel types that are not Ground weak are: Ferrothorn, Skarmory, Scizor, but Talonflame beats all of them, outrunning and Taunting them so they cannot set up, and you win in the long run. This is my personal take on it, but you can run an offensive SD set.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't find Scarf Excadrill useful. You could potentially continue to run Scarf Kyurem-B + a hazard removal in Excadrill's slot? I'm really pretty unsure about what would work though, perhaps Defog Scizor. Or you could continue running Skarmory and see how you like it. I do think a Steel type would work best though, as it provides you a secondary check to Weavile and Fairy types.
