Marvel v Capcom 3 discussion

i hope they'll put in new achievements when Jill and Shuma Gorath are released. like winning a match with a team of S.T.A.R.S. members (Jill, Chris, Wesker) and a team of dictators (Doom, Dormammu, Shuma). the pre-fight dialogue between Jill and Chris is lacking to say the least.
 
hmm, did some more missions and completed the hulk ones, and I dont play Hulk at all, but I might give him a shot as a dormammu replacement as he seems to be quite solid, just lacking in the speed department though
 
just got the game, I'm pretty new to it and I really like the mission mode.
I'm currently using Ammy, Tron and Phoenix. PSN lags like shit, seriously.

Don't follow the game/have huge interest that much but all I ever see in youtube videos is Sentinel beating the crap out of everybody, what's up with that?

And I played Darkstalkers a lot long time ago so I like the implementing of Hsienko. Few of her moves are still the same, going to zombie ninja the game up
 
Yeah Sentinel is the best character in the game at the moment. He does ludicrous damage, has the most health in the game, has one of the best assists, and is pretty much God with X-factor. He's really big though, so some people think he won't be that big a deal once people figure out how to abuse that (like Justin Wong did with Wolverine).
 
yeah, he's good, but not "broken" by any means. i can usually pressure him pretty well with rushdown characters like Wolverine and Chun-Li, and bulky characters like Hulk, Thor, and Haggar.
 
Just because the best player at the game can handle a character does not mean that the character is legit. 2 matches before Wong started, a guy took less than 25% damage on Sentinel and wiped the floor with his opponent.

These matches are extremely intense. Any of you guys on an IRC channel talking about them?

EDIT: The Sentinel guy I mentioned just did it again (he's on Wong's team, haven't caught his name). Didn't destroy as much as before but still a good demonstration.

EDIT 2: And a few matches later his Sentinel got destroyed by Arthur lol. It's impossible to judge based on player performance but I have moved away from my initial impression that he's too strong (see post from pre-release). He is however the best character, I don't think any other is going to top that.

EDIT 3: Wong's use of Akuma's assist is amazing, never seen anybody use assists so frequently and fluidly. That's how you play MvC.
 
Haha I'm extremely tempted to try out Wolverine, Wong is just beasting with this guy.

Also, these matches are showing me I really need to work on timing assists if I want to up my game. >_>
 
Akuma's tatsu assist is badass!

and the way they're so desperately trying to get rid of Doom and his cockblock missiles, you'd think he's a bigger threat than sentinel!
 
Doom's assist spam seems to absolutely make certain point characters. I feel like I'd go for the snap back and try and KO him the first chance I got.
 
Magneto/Storm/Sentinel seems to be a popular team. I'm sure some of you guys are watching it but I just saw it 3-0 a Chris/Zero/Sentinel team twice :O very impressive

I'm not a big fan of Magneto based on what I've seen of him in this game so far but I guess it works

well, tournament's over, didn't get to watch most of it but what I did watch was pretty great. Justin Wong switched teams like halfway through lol to She Hulk/dog/Tron, I don't think i have seen anyone else use any of those three, pretty cool stuff
 
Tron and air throw was so brutal, not to mention that perfect Justin had on Ryry (I think). We had a few people talking about the tourney on #battlecapacity but uh, too late for that haha.
 
oh cool, Shadow Mode's free? i'll definitely be getting it then. really wanting the costume pack for Iron Patriot and Secret Avengers Captain America.
