Mamoswine is a staple pick for Ice teams due to its ability to effectively fill multiple roles, including a Stealth Rock user, Choice Scarf revenge killer, and wallbreaker. Its high Attack stat and Ground typing allow it to check many Fire- and Steel-type threats such as Torkoal, Heatran, and Magnezone. Its Ground typing also grants it a neutrality to Stealth Rock, which can allow it to switch in more often. Its solid offensive presence makes it one of the best Stealth Rock users for Ice teams. With the ability Thick Fat, Mamoswine can offer a Fire neutrality for Ice teams, and with Oblivious, suicide lead sets can negate Taunt users to freely set up Stealth Rock. Access to priority in Ice Shard allows it to pick off weakened threats. Mamoswine has a wide range of coverage attacks, including Stone Edge, Superpower, and Knock Off, which allow it hit Flying-, Normal-, and Psychic-types such as Mantine, Chansey, and Slowbro, respectively.
