Magic the Gathering thread

I cannot agree with you.. I have also play competitive magic for about 3 years, ravager WAS BROKEN, but not shit... also, you must know how to play it, wasn't only swarm and attack...
Too much mommories comes in mind now... they reprint the quirion dryad???? T.T is a lot cooler now... sigh good old times

mirrodin was a game braking expansion...
Mox, clamp, affinity mechanich, mindslaver, ravager, glimmer void, ascetic troll, sword of fire and ice, disciple of the vault, tooth and nail, platinum angel... ah... ç.ç

As a magic player of just over 11 years, I can tell you that Urza's Block was more blatantly broken ;_;

yeah urza come out before I start play but I saw is effect with urza born the lovely Mono black (my nick is based on the Phyrexian Negator infact :D)
Tinker... Voltaic key, dinamo trah, gea's craddle, tolarian accademy, duress, negator, engignered plague, pownder keg... :D stroke of genius, worship, glorious anathem, jar of memory, the goblin thinkerer (mmm I could have misspelled this) yea urza was great

Urza was the most broken, just as Mirrodin, I personally hate to play games that included those sets, because the decks were just insane, but hey, that its the fun of magic, also what its ur favorite set? I really loved Kamigawa even tough it was not that good but had an inmense flavor

My favourite set was probably urza saga, even if I wasn't play when it went off.
But I really loved the Onslaught block: was the set with I really start to pla! goblin, elves, akroma, all with the cards of the judgement block, before of the Negator, my signature card was the phantom nishoba :D
Don't consider me a nood only because I loved big stupid creature, I used to play a totaly different deck.
What deck did you play?
I know, italian and american metagame was different, but...
I played:
t1: WW mono white (for fun); WU-Tang (This is strange, is born on USA, but was played a lot more on italian metagame :O, basicaly a W and U fish with meddling mages, rod, fow, javelliner ecc ecc); Zoo R/G, mono black for fun (the old mono black as I said, with nether void, duress, null rod, then updated with COnfidant,)
Ext: Aggro rock B/G (the one built after kamigawa out, with confidant, troll ascetic, jitte&sword, call of heard...); Vial -Goblin: I hate wizard when them banned Aether vial THE DAY after I bought my last 4 cards: 4 goblin piledriver ._. Wizard you suck... ; Classic Raveger Affinity, with vial first, without mage, confidant, or black splash later.
T2: Mmmm T2 I played alway a little less.. Affinity in mirrodin block, Mono Elves on rawnica block, White Winnie in kamigawa

My signature card its kiki jiki the mirror breaker, amazing name for an amazing card, for extended i play goblins, affinity, and used to play storm, as for standard i have not tried any tourney with lorwin

Common, post in this tread, dont let it die...

What do u guys think about the new extended? i really miss some oddysey cards, but the new format its exiting, and i have to say it, Tarmo its so brookeen

mmm really I don't know nothing of the new extended...
So, oddysey is gone? omg... no more perniciuos deed... no more VINDICATE *0* O No!!! even my loved Mystic enforcer XD lol
but, even mirari, mirari's awake are gone, right?

I played Magic untill about a few months ago. Now, I just don't see the point in paying money for a bunch of peices of paper. However, my first Lorowyn pack had a Garuuk Planeswalker. I'm selling it, but how much does it go for?

Everything before ONS Block is gone once the block after Lorwyn/Shadowmoor rotates in. The last Invasion based extended was this passed season. I played in 5 PTQs and the best I did was 11th. =\ My friend Matt, who is actually a stone master at the game, recently top eighted Grand Prix Philly with GW Spirit Stompy, which he'd won a PTQ with the week before. He lost in the quarterfinals of the GP to eventual winner Gerard Fabiano and got a $1000 check for 7th place.

Standard/Type 2 is pretty much where it's at right now. Our state (Iowa) is looking into setting up an old program that they used to run awhile back called Road 2 Regionals: you play in a bunch of events and the person with the best overall win percentage gets a new deck box, two packages of 100 sleeves, and their entry fee paid for Regionals that year ($25). It's really fun and I hope they bring it back.

Negator, they reprinted Mystic Enforcer in the last block. :)

Edit:
O well XD <-- emotion change after a quick google research:
Still the same images, but good that it's still there

How many people would be interested in a Smogon MTG tourney? With the Shadowmoor release imminent (and probably already Standard-legal by the time the tournament would start), I think this is a perfect time for a tournament. The format would be up for grabs based on the interest expressed, we could probably even do something crazy like cube drafting if you guys wanted to.

Yeah I would rather use MWS but if people all simultaneously decide they love Apprentice or some other thing that I've never heard of we can use that. I think the only thing that is definately out is MTGO.

I think once I get at least 8 people interested i'll probably make a seperate thread so we can decide format and stuff.

MWS is the best, just I've never used, since for long I was unable to play with it since I'm a MAC os User, but I've solved that recently.

MWS its the program i use, if you are interested in making a tourney post in here your ideas, maybe we could make an agreement and get more people involved, it should be fun, and i am interested in playing shadowmoor, has some neat cards

Are the MWS and Apprentice programs different from typical MTGO? DOn't have the money for that stuff...if it's some free IRC program or something like that I'd be down.

Its different, its like playing a real card game, you make your own rules and play by counting, the computer does nothing for you, but its cool this way, i think its easier and its an amazing program, i used to play with my brother locally
