Little things you like about Pokémon

Like imagine THIS playing in a clothing shop all the while you're looking for outfits and going in there changing hairstyles, clothing, etc. That would be fun imo.
I think it's more likely for the Style Shop to have a slower version/remix of the Game Corner theme than a completely new song, but I don't think a completely new song is super unlikely.

The Clothing Store music though is usually very bopping tunes:

I don't think the Gen IV Game Corner would feel out of place.

It would be absolutely hilarious if they actually bring back the Game Corner's theme to use in the Style Shop itself. Like yeah it's not a casino anymore, but if they still kept the original music even though it's a totally different place that would be fun.

For my money the best Game Corner theme in the series, fight me

But yeah I agree it's more likely to be a slowed-down remix or a rearrangement, unfortunately.

Getting the Shiny Charm re-awoke the joy I get in random Pokemon encounters!

When I got it in the games it is available in (W2, OR, LG Eevee, Sword for me) I stopped using Repels as often for the chance to randomly come across a Shiny - it's not what you'd call likely but the thrill is there. Then I realised I was getting a kick out of the unpredictability of things - there's technically no reason that couldn't occur in the other games I have (albeit less likely) I stopped using them there too (whether I be playing Platinum, Crystal etc).

I found I was still enjoying the thrill of the unpredictability of Pokemon as a whole. Even in gen1 where Shinies don't exist, if I'm playing Yellow I'll go "hfil yeah!" if I run into a L9 Pidgeotto in Viridian Forest. If I'm going through a route on Crystal and I run into a rarer encounter (like Larvitar in Mt Silver, or one of the beasts) that thrill lies there too, whether they're Shiny or not. I feel this is something in the franchise that appealed to me loads as a kid, and indicates it has aged very very well (as far as myself, personally, am concerned).

sorry to double post but I wanna talk about this before I forget it

ok so like

both Olivia battles start with a focus on her legs and posterior

Stufful dolls are very popular with single ladies according to Olivia's bedroom, and Olivia explicitly states elsewhere she isn't married

"The Rock-type Z-Power...you have to move like this to draw it out! Watch carefully, because the hip movement is crucial!"

do you wanna talk about something game freak??????

yeah this could have gone in the annoying thread but screw it I put it here first

They knew what they were doing and they didn't care. Nice of them to recognize the online teenage Pokémon fans.

The Stufful dolls description even says they move.
Don't forget "The Fame and the Shame! Champions Exposed!" in Prof Cozmo's ORAS Sea Mauville room (which was called a "Magazine of pretty girls" in the Japanese version and "Only adults read those types of books" in SwSh

Man, the localizers really changed it from an implied porn stash to a saucy tabloid about beloved characters that led to porn jokes anyway. My contribution is that the item "Nugget" Japanese name is Golden Ball, which is slang for actual balls. The random old guy giving the player a nugget out of nowhere was suppose to be a ball joke. Bulbapedia's article on the Slowpoke family's origins have a story with this pun in mind too.
The other common story about sazae-oni is altogether less wholesome. This version of the creature is the result of a lustful woman being cast into the sea, causing her to become something not unlike the succubus of western folklore. Though in the kind of twist I've come to expect from Japanese folklore, the sazae-oni succubus steals the testicles of the men she seduces. One tale describes a ship full of alarmed pirates discovering the attractive lady they pulled from the sea has robbed them of more than just their dignity, and subsequently bargaining to buy back their purloined parts. The point of this story seems to have been a particularly groan-worthy Japanese pun, as a slang term for testicles is kintama (金玉), meaning 'golden balls', so the pirates traded one kind of gold for another.

What’s wrong with Bethseda? Not familiar with them.
Bethesda are known for two things these days:

1. Putting out games that range from rough around the edges to exceptionally buggy and broken (Fallout 76).
2. Constantly rereleasing Skyrim on every system possible.

Believe me, it could be worse. GF at least manages to put out games that are playable day 1.

I agree. With all the posts expressing disappointment towards certain Pokémon games, some of which I've contributed to, there's a lot of be grateful for. As a hot topic example, even if the Battle Frontier isn't likely ever coming back at least I got to experience it in games like Platinum, HGSS and Emerald. Those are some of my favorite games of all time, Pokémon or otherwise.

For me when GF nailed, they really nailed it. Particularly with the Gens 3-5 games. Even if post Gen 5 games aren't as much to my liking, clearly based on sales numbers many people thoroughly enjoy them. We could be in much worse hands as fans of this franchise's games.

The fanbase has been eagerly awaiting updates on their 2 upcoming titles, a new space RPG and Elder Scrolls 6. Both were announced in 2019 and there's been essentially no info since. I posted that on the day they announced the game coming out this year, a re-release of Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. This will mark roughly the 5th version of this game released since 2011. We complain about multiple versions and rereleases here, but even Kanto has been revisited less than that despite being out for 2.5x as long, which shows remarkable restraint IMO.

never looking at a card again until the japan september set gets the alt art reveals

Ahhhhh that Giratina/Garchomp card, I hadn't seen that one before.

Giratina using its tentdrils to ear apart the opening is such a good visual, and I'm a total sucker for "resting on an edge where an edge should not be, but is" stuff like that

don't like how latias & latios are making a heart and giving each other bedroom eyes, though.

granted I haven't been playing Pokemon too long but I've always got the impression that Latios and Latias were siblings? Am I the only one who thought that?
Strictly speaking, none of the main line games (as far as I'm aware) say they are. Not that there's much lore about them to begin with... And there's also the implication, I believe, of multiple Latias & Latios. Obviously they cannot ALL be brother/sister.

But also they probably didn't pull the brother/sister thing for the anime out of whole cloth and other stuff (spin offs, manga, etc) treat "the" Latias & Latios as siblings when they show up. It's definitely the most "known" aspect about them. So seeing a bunch of "sibling" connotations to them and then you suddenly get a card like that I'm pulling out the side eye

Think like the Nidos i.e. both are the same Pokemon, just classified differently due to major gender differences, meaning if two Latis got together, their children would be siblings even if they were different "species", but not the parents.

Oh please, you don't need to look any further than the female Swimmers artwork to know the artists are getting out some pent-up sexual desires. :P

I wan to say she mentions it if you get her at the sushi highroller but it's part of her concept art, she's reading some and tearing up about it.

as the winds were howling, xaviere realized that there were a lot of gx alt arts he should chronicle….

Oodles and Oodles of Alt Arts;

  • Trevenant & Dusknoir: Their treat is your trick!
  • Dedenne: Forgot the glass screen door again.
  • Eevee: Eev chungus.
  • Venusaur & Snivy: Do I even want to know what "Forest Dump" is?
  • Togepi & Cleffa & Igglybuff: Dragons be afraid.
  • Arceus & Dialga & Palkia: (Giratina: What, I'm chopped liver or something?)
  • Mega Lopunny & Jigglypuff: Guess that's a different take on Mega Lopunny hug pillow.
  • Moltres & Zapdos & Articuno: Disturb not the harmony of fire, ice or lightning...
  • Rowlet & Alolan Exeggutor: Time to play "Where's Rowlett".
  • Slowpoke & Psyduck: SOMEONE DRAW ART OF PSYBRO NOW!
  • Raichu & Alolan Raichu: Alright GF, we get it, Alolan Raichu is better, now please just leave poor normal Raichu alone (or give it a Mega at least)!
  • Mewtwo & Mew: (Mewtwo: It's not that funny)(Mew: Your right, it's hilarious)(Mewtwo: That Minior could have very well have hit you)(Mew: But I wouldn't have made that sound! You sounded like a Meowth getting its tail stepped on!)
  • Espeon & Deoxys: (Espeon: Um, hi, sorry to wake you up, but may I invite you to join our Psychic Club?)
  • Umbroen & Darkrai: One's a fox-thing that has rings that glow under the moon, the other is a creature of shadow and nightmare, together they're THE NIGHT DETECTIVES. Every Monday at 6 pm.
  • Mega Sableye & Tyranitar: Sableye was that kid who only ate the marshmallows in his cereal.
  • Garchomp & Giratina: (Garchomp: Giratina, you can't hide in an alternate dimension when we play hide-and-seek, it's not fair!)
  • Pheromosa & Buzzwole: How typical, Pheromosa is just trying to have a girl day on the beach and a musclehead comes up and starts showing off.
  • Muk & Alolan Muk: Henceforth the city decided to take cleaning the drain tunnels a bit more seriously.
  • Marshadow & Machamp: (Machamp: Look Marshadow, everything the sunlight touches is ours to pummel)
  • Greninja & Zoraork: (Zoroark: You don't know how glad I am not for once being paired with Lucario)
  • Lucario & Melmetal: (Lucario: You don't know how glad I am not for once being paired with Zoroark)
  • Gardevoir & Sylveon: Time to play "Guess Their Gender"!
  • Pikahcu & Zekrom: (Pikachu: Piggyback ride!)(Zekrom: Reshiram gets Charizard, I could have gotten at least Ampharos or better yet Mega Ampharos...)
  • Gengar & Mimikyu: One wants to have friends and accidentally kills, the other kills to have friends, together they're FRIENDS TILL DEATH. Evert Friday at 4 am.
  • Latias & Latios: Huh, a rare mate pairing, usually they portray them as brother and sister... Japan, that IS what I'm seeing, right?... EDIT: Shedinja'd
  • Eevee & Snorlax: It's all fun & games until Snorlax eats a rather large & fuzzy Berry.
  • Magikarp & Wailord: Reenacting the whale spout scene from Finding Nemo.

granted I haven't been playing Pokemon too long but I've always got the impression that Latios and Latias were siblings? Am I the only one who thought that?

Pokemon 4Ever confirms that (hopefully unrelated) Latios & Latias breed and the Latias births more Latios & Latias. Still, as R_N notes, they are usually shown as siblings so this is kind of squicky as I joke above...
