League of Legends: Let's Talk About uhhh??

then rod of ages

You get it that late? ROA is only really good if you get it before the 20min mark as the passive takes too long to take effect otherwise. I've used ROA on Morgana in the past, a long time ago but I really didn't see the ups to it when she doesn't need to be tanky at all and lets face it, ROA costs a ton.

If you are snowballing hard, just go straight Deathcap instead. Your AP will be insane.

Rod of Ages takes 10 minutes to fully complete, so if you think the game will last another 10 minutes, get it whatever point you're at in the game.

9.9

ROA is most effective early, not only because of the Catalyst effects giving hp and mana back upon level up but the boosts aren't that great late game. In fact at that point it's better to sell ROA and buy something more complimentary for that part of the game.

If you use AD marks on someone that isn't Riven or maybe jungle Lee Sin (GOTTA CLEAR FAST), you are bad and you should feel bad.

This has been a public service announcement from your local above-average player and mathcraft extraordinaire, Mr.E. Rod of Ages is also cost-efficient even completely unstacked and Morgana kinda has to jump into the middle of a fight and stay alive for three seconds to do her thing. Yes, yes she does need to be tanky... aside the fact that she by no means puts out THE DEEPS so why build glass cannon anyway. And don't level up Dark Binding first either because how the fuck you gonna farm Wraiths with Level 3 Soil bro?

You guys are all but too intentionally baiting me.

ROA is most effective early... the 630 Health, 725 Mana and 80 AP aren't that great late game.
This guy...

The point of an AP carry is to do A LOT of burst damage mid game as that is when they are most effective, while late game is when AD carries are at their strongest. If you are spending your money from kills on tanky items and not snowballing items while your enemy AP is buying flat damage, they well do a lot more than you mid game and can affect the whole match. Morgana doesn't really need to build tanky because she has access to Zhonya's which combine with her Ult makes for great burst damage and initiation. Of course an AP should focus on getting some sort of defense and not go complete glass cannon BUT damage is so much more important.

ROA only gives 60 AP and that isn't even straight off the bat. You have to wait for its full effectiveness.

I don't think you should necessarily sell RoA late-game, as it offers some amazing bulk, mana, and AP in general. In terms of efficiency, RoA is extremely cost-effective once it's fully stacked.

The reason you'd get it earlier as opposed to later is that going Hourglass-RoA is obviously weaker than going RoA-Hourglass as the latter build lets you hit a sweet spot around the 22-26 minute mark (assuming you're farming well) where your RoA has just hit full stacks and you've just finished your Hourglass, giving you massive power in addition to a ton of bulk.

Rushing Hourglass or Deathcap generally means that you're going for that more immediate power or that you need the early stasis and in those situations, you're usually better off completing the other item instead of going for a late RoA, simply because that same "sweet spot" timing won't have the same impact at 32-36 minutes when your RoA is finally fully built.

Mr. E, why shouldn't we use AD marks? I run them on a lot of my junglers, top laners, and all my AD carries and it's been working very well. They ease last-hitting, and champions that have good AD ratios benefit from AD marks.

Mr. E goes "I mathcrafted this and armor pen does more damage to champions so everyone should take armor pen reds at the minimum!"

It's true, armor pen does do more damage to champs and the sweet spot is some general mix of them (15/6.8 or 10/10 are the most common). However, for ease, champs that benefit from armor pen inherently benefit from AD, so it's easier overall if you lack rune pages and don't want to spend the IP for both armor pen and AD.

Mre will also use the argument that you should learn to last hit better under tower because that's a major advantage of AD reds but you can't control your minion wave so AD reds give a bigger buffer.

two basic rune pages

flat attack damage marks
flat armor seals
flat magic resist glyphs
flat attack damage quints

flat magic pen marks
flat mana regen seals
flat magic resist glyphs
flat ability power quints

and you dont even need the mreg seals for your ap page...

as for flat vs scaling mr, it comes down to how much magic damage you expect to take in the laning phase

When is it better to go armor penetration or attack speed instead of attack damage?

Generally I use;

Armor Pen: 2 or more skills/passive that benefit. Eg: Trundle, Wukong.
%Armor Reduction abilities and physical damage skills

Attack Speed: champs that benefit from attack speed. Eg: Pheonix Udyr, Shyvana, WW, Skarner
The more they attack.. the more they benefit from their passive/ skill

Shy/Skarner cooldown reduction, WW gets more healing/damage from his passive, and udyr gets more phoenix procs.

In general, if you've got AD, attack speed, and magic pen reds, you use them on just about any champion in the game. I run AD on the aforementioned, AS on a few junglers without AA resets or poor AD scaling, and magic pen on most APs and a few AP junglers. Supports do tend to want armor or MR reds but they're not a necessity.

Rune for stats you aren't going to itemize for throughout the course of the game (Mana regen on not super mana needy casters) or for personal preference in the early parts of the game.

I say early part because scaling runes are rarely okay, unless they're going to top off a threshold you are otherwise going to miss without them while building your core items. If you aren't topping off a specific threshold, you're stuck with runes that really don't give you that much more than the flats by late game, and the difference is largely ignorable, whereas you are significantly losing out early where the differences are far more noticeable and critical.

Does anyone use NVIDEA Geforce GTX 260?? This is the video card I have right now, but it keeps saying Display driver NVIDEA Windows Kernel Mode Driver version 301.42 (the driver I use right now) has stopped responding and has recovered. I've had this same issue with other drivers. This same problem also happens while I'm on the internet. Now, when I play LOL, I don't get the recovery error mentioned above, but I assume that's what happening. I can't handle these constant errors! It's gotten so bad they even cause the "blue screen of death" occasionally. Can someone help???

The 260 doesn't even support 301.42.

Who do you guys think is better in terms of support?? Nautilus or Blitzcrank?? I want a support character with a pull, but I'm having trouble choosing. Blitzcrank is obviously cheaper, so I may just take him for now.

And Rayquaza check their website, because it does.

ps solo top blitzcrank is better than solo top naut.

blitzcrank actually does a metric crapton of damage with items and scales well however he loses none of his utility going 0 cs support and is good in kill lanes, which is why he goes support moreso than solo lane.

I'm not very good at support yet...

Got Taric on a whim cause fuck it, he looks fun. Played two games and went like 2/3/4 in both of them. I did t feel like I was accomplishing anything and I sure as fuck wasn't doing much damage on the rare occasion I tried to farm or fight. I mostly just healed people and stood around next to them so they could get my buffs and shit.

P.S. I won one of those games and lost the other.

During the laning stage your job as a support is to do whatever it takes to make sure your carry gets more gold than the other carry. Everything you do is based off of this. You protect them from getting killed because it gives the other team gold and your carry can't farm when they're dead. You harass the enemy because it sets up kills for gold but also because it makes it hard for the other carry to farm. You buy all the wards for your lane so they don't have to.

Since supports don't buy much in the way of items you're not going to do much damage late game. However the base damage on your spells is usually pretty good during the laning stage. Depending on your support you'll either play more defensively and protect your support and sustain them or you'll harass the enemy and then try and catch one out of position for the carry to kill. You want to ward according to the state of the game. While one ward near dragon will do okay a lot of the time sometimes the enemy jungler will know how to gank around that. There are a lot of good guides on warding. You also want to communicate with your jungler to set up dragon opportunities as well as let them know if/when your lane is gankable. Your carry should be focused on last hitting so you should ping to let them know when you're going for a kill or when they need to back away from a gank. A lot of people think of the support as the bitch but they're more like a pure PG who leads bot lane and sets up plays for the carry. When you're carry and your support is good you'll feel like you're playing against bots.

During team fights your role depends on your champ. Usually you're either casting steroids on your carry or peeling people off of them.

how the fuck do you win with a team like this?

2q1ezbq.png

I mean, I've had bad teams, but this is just bad. You may notice that I'm the only person with an even remotely good score and I consider myself very bad at the game. My god. All my deaths were from me trying to bail my idiot teammates out. DON'T TRY A 1v4, especially when one of your opponents is a ridiculously fed Yi.
