ORAS OU Krookodile Balanced Offense

Hey guys im bringing you my first RMT in a looong time haha. I'm basing my team off a great but unusual pokemon, Krookodile, so I would appreciate it if y'all would suggest any thing you would change with my team, thanks in advance. So without further ado here is the team.

553.gif

Krookodile @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit

Starting this team off is Krookodile, he serves as a great revenge killer with choice scarf and moxie. His diverse movepool allows him to be able to beat many weakened threats to my team. His EVs were just thrown into attack and speed to help him get as many ko's as possible. He is a very versatile pokemon that adds a uniqueness to my team.

Serperior @ Life orb
Trait: Contrary----Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Def
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Serperior is a fast Grass pokemon that my team was really needing. It helps take on pesky water types and Breloom which my team struggles against. With its high Base Power and backed by a Life Orb, Leaf Storm actually hits surprisingly hard, despite Serperior's low base Special Attack. The boost provided by Leaf Storm makes the coverage moves available to Serperior more usable. It's EVs are nothing special they are just meant for him to get in and hit hard and fast.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician----Nature: Adamant
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit

The spot that used to belong to Heatran, Scizor now has. Scizor is a great addition to the team helping keep offensive momentum in my favor with his powerful Bullet Punch and U-turn. He also serves as a great fairy check helping to beat Mega Diance and Gardevoir which can be a problem sometimes if my team has been weakened. Scizor's EVs help to have as much power and bulk as possible to maximize its pivoting capabilities, necessitating heavy investment in Attack and HP.

Charizard (M) @ Charizardite X
Trait: Blaze----Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Roost
- Flare Blitz

I have always loved Charizard X and he fits well on the team I believe, he can use many common hazard setters as set up fodder to begin to devastate teams. Dragon claw and Flare Blitz in tandem with Tough Claws provides ridiculous damage output, capable of OHKOing many foes unboosted and severely denting almost everything in the metagame at +1. The EV set he has maximizes his attack while still being quite bulky and being able to outspeed common threats.

385.gif

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability:Serene Grace---Nature:Careful
EVs: 252 HP / 176 SpD / 80 Spe
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Iron Head
- U-turn
- Body Slam

Jirachi is a good team member helping to set up rocks and check many threats such as Mega Gardevoir. The given EV spread allows Jirachi to outspeed Adamant Diggersby, Adamant Bisharp, and Jolly Tyranitar. With heavy Special Defense investment, it is optimized to tank hits from the likes of Latios, Latias, and Mega Gardevoir rather well.

Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate----Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

So my last addition is Rotom-W, he is a awesome mon in general with his great typing and movesets he can run. EVs may seem weird but let me explain. Max HP is obvious to be as tanky as possible, while I put 44 EVs into Speed to outspeed Jolly Azumarill to get a Will 'O' Wisp/Volt Switch off before it hits me with Play Rough. Remaining EVs are thrown into Defense to be a fearsome check to many physical attackers.

So that's my team and any opinions are greatly welcomed!

Hey Jordan_K_44, nice team. I'll provide several suggestions I have for your team that will accomodate the current metagame better.

1. Scarf Krookodile should always run pursuit. Most players will assume your Krookodile is scarfed and therefore will fear the powerful STAB knock off and opt to switch out. Pursuit allows you to damage these mons on the way out. Although you need to always weigh the risk vs reward when deciding to use pursuit as sometimes it will be better to just knock off for damage or for utility in removing their item. I suggest we remove Dragon Claw for the move since dragon claw is incredibly weak from Krookodile without a the STAB boost or life orb and a super-effective hit only hits marginally harder than a STAB neutral Knock off. I'd also advise you run jolly nature over adamant to outspeed scarf Mold breaker Excadrill which is fairly common.

2. Change Charizard X's nature from Adamant to Jolly. It can't be understated how important it is to outspeed Scarf Landorus-T and SCarf Excadrill after a Dragon Dance as they are the most common scarf users in thee tier.

3. Unaware Clefable should always run a recovery move (either moonlight or Wish). Clef on your team serves as the only stop to Tail Glow Manaphy and will not be able to reliably counter it without a form of recovery. The recommended set will be listed inside the spoiler tag at the bottom of this post.

Dude thanks! Dark G I appreciate you helping me out and I will definitely make them adjustments! Now what do you think about clefable on the team he hasn't really been pulling much weight if I replaced him who should I replace him with??

I think Dark G's suggestions are great and necessary.. There are a couple other things that may be worth looking into
1.) Charizards EV spread EVs: 96 HP / 252 Atk / 160 Spd --> EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe (Jolly)
The only reason to run a bulky Charizard-X set like you have, is for Will-o-Wisp support, but the set you have currently is an offensive Zard-X. So the current EV spread you have is kind of counter-intuitive.
2.) Celebi @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure----Nature: Bold
EVs: 248 HP / 152 Def / 108 Spd
- Baton Pass
- Giga Drain Recover
- Nasty Plot Swords Dance
- Psychic Zen Headbutt/Seed Bomb
The only pokemon i see taking "advantage" of a passed Nasty Plot is a SpD Heatran, and an Unaware Clefable. I really see no reason for you to have Nasty Plot. If you're still interested in passing a boost, i would recommend Swords Dance, as it fits your team more being able to pass a boost to Scarf Krook or Zard-X.. Obviously, if you are planning on changing to Swords Dance you would make your Celebi physical.
I also recommend Giga Drain > Recover because I find that Celebi can be worn down fairly easily. Of course these are simply suggestions, you may do what you want. :]
Kindest Regards, ErcaPerca
Check me out :)

No problem man. As for Clefable, I actually think it's a solid fit to your team although you may want to run the more popular and often more useful Magic Guard set with calm mind and thunder wave. It still provides most of the perks that Unaware Clefable had with the added benefit of being immune to common entry hazards, spreading paralysis, and being able to set up and sweep once all its counters are removed.

Hi there, nice team however I think I can give u suggestions to fix some little things. You need something to break through Defensive walls, unaware Clefable and Quagsire kinda stops both Krokoodile and Zard-X. So maybe you could replace Heatran and Celebi for more offensive threats such as an offensive Steel type to kill Clefable, like Excadrill, banded Scizor or Bisharp. Meanwhile your Rotom-W and Clefable core still walls majority of this 3 Pokémon weaknesses and you get more power behind ur back. As for Celebi replacement I would suggest Serperior as it can Leaf Storm freely while destroying some Quagsire or any bulky Water that comes in your way.

Excadrill @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin

OR

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit

OR

Bisharp @ BlackGlasses
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch

AND

Serperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power Fire
- Giga Drain/ Taunt

XRAGNA XZ Alright thanks for all the suggestions! Tho I think I'll keep Celebi over Serperior he just seems to work better than Serperior for me, but looks like I got quite a bit of other stuff to test out haha.

Edit: so after testing the options you gave me over Heatran I have decided Scizor is better than Heatran imo so thanks for showing me that! XRAGNA XZ

Ok guys I want to thank everyone for helping me so far! But, my thing is now I don't have a rock setter...should I use Krookodile as a fast rock setter?? And If I do what move should I replace?

Maybe having Stealth rocks in Clefable instead of Protect would work, cause ur Krok is more of a late sweeper. Either that or you do what KidMagic said.
