ability: Regenerator / Dauntless Shield
nature: Impish
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

Kommo-o's great bulk, alongside its unique typing, allows it to check a wide variety of Pokemon in the AAA metagame. It can reliably switch into several prominent attackers like Zarude and Barraskewda, often punishing their attacks with Rocky Helmet, while also staying healthy with Regenerator. Dauntless Shield can be used instead to better soft check foes like Terrakion, but it makes Kommo-o very dependent on Leftovers or team support to stay healthy. Running no item is another option to nullify Poltergeist to check Dhelmise. Kommo-o also has good offensive presence with its powerful STAB Body Press, potentially boosted by Dauntless Shield, which can threaten many offensive and defensive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Zarude. It also threatens common Defoggers and Magic Bounce users like Corviknight and Blissey, allowing it to reliably set Stealth Rock. Dragon Tail phazes setup Pokemon that resist Body Press, and racks up Stealth Rock damage. Iron Defense can be used to effectively give it +2 Attack and Defense, notably allowing it to beat Corviknight one-on-one. Poison Jab is another option to threaten Fairy-types such as Tapu Fini and Tapu Koko, which are immune to Dragon Tail and take very little damage from Body Press, as well as fishing for poison on Pokemon that resist Body Press like Zapdos. Toxic is yet another option to reliably cripple Pokemon such as Tapu Fini.

This set fits well in bulky offense and balance teams, which enjoy Kommo-o's longevity and ability to reliably set up Stealth Rock. Offensive Pokemon that are forced out by Zarude and Barraskewda such as Heatran and Sheer Force Tapu Lele greatly appreciate Kommo-o coming in on them and chipping them with Rocky Helmet. Defensively, Kommo-o and Tapu Fini cover each other's weaknesses and can check most physical attackers together. Despite its decent special bulk, Kommo-o can't usually take hits from special threats, so partners like Blissey and RegenVest Silvally-Dragon are often required. Kommo-o is particularly weak to Flying- and Fairy-types as they don't fear Body Press; thus, good answers to threats like Zapdos, Tapu Koko, and Tapu Lele are needed, for example Heatran and RegenVest Jirachi. Lastly, Kommo-o is completely unable to threaten Talonflame, so answers to it such as Zapdos are also good teammates.

name: Belly Drum + Unburden
move 1: Belly Drum

move 3: Thunder Punch / Poison Jab
move 4: X-Scissor / Dragon Claw / Substitute
item: Sitrus Berry
ability: Unburden
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Belly Drum + Unburden turns Kommo-o into a deadly sweeper. Activating its Sitrus Berry with Belly Drum, Kommo-o can have +6 Attack and doubled Speed in a single turn, making it very hard to stop. Kommo-o can use its great bulk to set up on passive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn lacking Thunder Wave and defensive Landorus-T, or on a Choice item user such as Zarude that is locked into a resisted move. Drain Punch is a reliable STAB option that also helps keep Kommo-o healthy, making revenge killing it more difficult. Thunder Punch helps beat Corviknight and Tapu Fini, which can survive a Drain Punch, while Poison Jab helps KO Fairy-types like Tapu Koko and Tapu Bulu. For the last moveslot, X-Scissor is its best option to pass through bulky Psychic-types, such as Dauntless Shield Mew, even if it doesn't OHKO it. Dragon Claw instead gives a strong neutral hit on many threats such as Zapdos. Substitute is another option to ease setup and avoid status from various defensive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Swampert, Blissey, and Mew, as well as allowing Kommo-o to survive a Triage Draining Kiss. 4 HP EVs allow it to activate Sitrus Berry after Belly Drum, and a Jolly nature allows it to outspeed Choice Scarf Azelf, a common revenge killer that beats Adamant Kommo-o.

Belly Drum Kommo-o fits best in hyper offense teams, but it can also be used in bulky offense and balance teams as a late-game sweeper. It can also blow holes in the opposite team to help other teammates sweep instead. Thus, other physical threats such as Garchomp and Talonflame make great partners to overwhelm defensive cores. Tapu Koko can set up dual screens on hyper offense to facilitate Kommo-o's setup or bring it on foes like Blissey and Heatran to set up. Corviknight and Swampert can also bring it onto the field. Kommo-o's susceptibility to Triage Draining Kiss means that a strong answer to Togekiss and Tapu Lele is needed; Azelf's Psychic Terrain nullifies the move, while Jirachi takes hits from both Pokemon well. Wandering Spirit can also cripple Kommo-o, as Pokemon like Corviknight can remove the Unburden boost and make Kommo-o easier to revenge kill. Lastly, this set struggles to pass through Prankster Toxapex and Unaware walls such as Mandibuzz and Mew, so Pokemon that can threaten them such as Zapdos and Tapu Koko are good partners.

name: Galvanize
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Boomburst
move 3: Close Combat
move 4: Dragon Dance / Clanging Scales / Taunt
item: Life Orb / Magnet
ability: Galvanize
nature: Rash
evs: 28 Atk / 252 SpA / 228 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set exploits Kommo-o's good offensive stats and Boomburst to make it a powerful and reliable mixed Stealth Rock setter that can threaten almost all the Defoggers in the metagame. Thanks to Galvanize, Boomburst is even stronger and threatens the metagame's most common Defoggers, Tapu Fini and Corviknight. This set acts as a great lure to important foes expecting another set, OHKOing common Kommo-o answers like Toxapex, Mandibuzz, and Tapu Fini. Close Combat hits common Magic Bounce users such as Blissey and contributes to its strong offensive presence, threatening Ferrothorn and Heatran. The last moveslot is relatively flexible; Dragon Dance boosts Close Combat and turns Kommo-o into a dangerous sweeper, Clanging Scales hits opposing Kommo-o harder while threatening Ground-type such as Swampert, and Taunt shuts down recovery from Pokemon like Volt Absorb Corviknight, as well as blocking setup and entry hazards. Life Orb is usually preferred, but Magnet lets it do high damage to Tapu Fini and Corviknight without recoil. The given Speed EVs allow Kommo-o to outspeed Pokemon with 70 or less base Speed such as Bisharp, and a Rash nature alongside to the 28 EVs Attack EVs secure the 2HKO against RegenVest Swampert, while keeping its ability to take physical hits relatively well.

This set works the best in offensive teams to lure in common answers to Kommo-o such as Toxapex and Corviknight. As such, Pokemon countered by these answers like Terrakion and Garchomp make great partners. Pivots such as Barraskewda appreciate entry hazards chipping their switch-ins. Despite being able to come in on Zarude one or two times, this Kommo-o set lacks longevity, and a secondary check to Zarude and Barraskewda is often required. Due to Kommo-o's weakness to common attackers such as Zapdos, Azelf, and Tapu Lele, strong answers to them like so RegenVest Jirachi and Blissey make great teammates; moreover, they can bring Kommo-o on the field to help it set up Stealth Rock.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Due to its great stats, Kommo-o can use a wide variety of sets to surprise the opponent, with a great movepool including Flamethrower, Earthquake, and the powerful boosting move Clangorous Soul. Many other abilities, including Tough Claws, are possible too; however, these sets are usually worse than those listed, and Galvanize Kommo-o already brings heavy surprise factor. On defensive sets, Kommo-o can also run Magic Bounce, which allows it to completely deny some Stealth Rock setters such as Swampert, as well as avoiding Toxic and still checking for Zarude and Barraskewda. Lastly, defensive variants can use Substitute over Dragon Tail alongside Iron Defense, avoiding Scald burns from Toxapex and Toxic from Swampert and while becoming very hard to stop as Body Press sweepers.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Flying-types**: Flying-type Pokemon such as Zapdos and Landorus-T resist Kommo-o's Fighting-type STAB moves and hit back with a powerful Flying-type STAB move or pivot out into a revenge killer.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types such as Tapu Fini are a major nuisance for Kommo-o, as they resist or are immune to its STAB moves; moreover, they can threaten it with powerful Fairy-type moves, and Tapu Lele and Togekiss even revenge kill it thanks to Draining Kiss and Triage. However, Tapu Fini fears Galvanize Boomburst.

**Unaware and Haze**: Users of Unaware and Toxapex with Prankster + Haze can easily deny Kommo-o's sets that rely on stats boosts, such as Belly Drum. However, most of them can be lured in and beaten by Galvanize sets.

**Dauntless Shield Mew**: Dauntless Shield Mew avoids the OHKO from any attack of Kommo-o and can threaten it back with Will-O-Wisp and Ice Beam, or just pivot out into a revenge killer.

**Volt Absorb**: Volt Absorb users such as Toxapex or Coviknight can prevent Boomburst Kommo-o from surprise KOing them. Volt Absorb Toxapex is particularly efficient, as it can also stop Belly Drum Kommo-o with Haze and its immunity to Thunder Punch.

It is able to reliably switch into several prominent attackers like Zarude and Barraskewda, often punishing their attacks with Rocky Helmet, while also staying healthy through the use of Regenerator. Thanks to Regenerator, Kommo-o can stay healthy through the game, and it can reliably come upon many attackers whose attacks it resists such as Zarude or Barraskewda, while chiping them with the Rocky Helmet. Flows better if you flip the sentence Dauntless Shield can be used instead of Regenerator to have more bulk in exchange of less longevity this helps with Terrakion right? mention something it checks more strongly, but it makes it very dependant of its item, Leftovers, dependent on Leftovers or team support to stay healthy. You can also run no item on Regenerator's sets No item is another option in order to check Dhelmise. Thanks to its great Defense of 125, Kommo-o is also able to have an offensive presence with its powerful STAB Body Press, potentially boosted by Dauntless Shield. It This allows it to threaten many offensive and defensive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn or Zarude, and act as a reliable Stealth Rock setter that can threaten common Magic Bounce users and Defoggers such as Blissey or Corviknight. Dragon Tail is used to prevent setup on by foes that would resist Body Press, as well as forcing the opposite team to take entry hazards damages. Lastly, Iron Defense can be used to transform Kommo-o in a dangerous Pokemon with Body Press, making it able to beat Corviknight in one-on-one, as well as allowing it to take less damage from physical hits. Poison Jab is an other option to threaten Fairy-type that are otherwise immune to Dragon Tail and take very little damage from Body Press, such as Tapu Fini or Tapu Koko, as well as fishing poison on Pokemon that resists Body Press like Zapdos. The given spread maxmimizes maximizes Kommo-o's physical bulk to check better physical threats.

This set fits well in bulky and balance teams, that enjoy Kommo-o's longevity and its ability to reliably set up Stealth Rock. Despite its correct decent special bulk, Kommo-o can't usually take hits from special threats, so partners like Blissey or RegenVest Silvally-Dragon are often required. Kommo-o is particularly weak to Flying-type and Fairy-type as they don't fear Body Press at all; thus, good answers to threats like Zapdos, Tapu Koko, and Tapu Lele are needed, so Heatran or RegenVest Jirachi are great partners. Lastly, Kommo-o is completely unable to threaten Talonflame, so answers to it such as Swampert I would probably put Zapdos here, Pert is a little shaky if chipped are also good teammates.

[SET COMMENTS]
The combination of Belly Drum + Unburden turns Kommo-o into a deadly sweeper that can clean a team in a few turns. Activating its Sitrus Berry with Belly Drum, Kommo-o can in only one turn be at +6 in Attack and have its Speed doubled in a single turn, making it very hard to stop. Kommo-o can use its great bulk to setup on passive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn lacking Thunder Wave or defensive Landorus-T, or on a Choice user that is lock on a resisted move such as Zarude. Drain Punch is a reliable STAB option that also helps keep Kommo-o healthy, making revenge killing it more difficult. Thunder Punch helps beat Corviknight and Tapu Fini, who otherwise can survive a Drain Punch, while Poison Jab helps KO Fairy-types like Tapu Koko and Tapu Bulu. Then, it can use its great coverage, Drain Punch allowing it to recover health and avoid revenge kill from priorities user while being a strong STAB, Thunder Punch hitting bulky Pokemon that Drain Punch can't OHKO such as Tapu Fini or Mandibuzz, while Poison Jab hits fairies that resists Drain Puch such as Tapu Fini or Tapu Koko. you still lose to Unaware Mandibuzz, the most common set, not worth mentioning imo. Lastly, X-Scissor is its best option to pass through bulky Psychic-type, such as Dauntless Shield Mew, even if it doens't doesn't OHKO it from full. Substitute is an other option, in order to ease setup and avoid status from various defensive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Swampert, or Blissey, as well as avoiding the Will-O-Wisp of Mew and giving Kommo-o one more turn under Substitute to take a priority move such as Draining Kiss. The given spread allows Kommo-o to be the most threatening possible to maximize its offenses and activate Sitrus Berry after Belly Drum, and a Jolly nature allows it to outspeed Scarf Azelf, a common revenge killer to Adamant Kommo-o.

Belly Drum Kommo-o fits the best in hyper offense teams but it can also be used in bulky offense or balance teams and act as a late game win condition. Kommo-o can act a very good cleaner, but it can also blows holes in the opposite team to help other teammates to sweep. Thus, others physical threats such as Garchomp or Talonflame make great partners in order to overwhelm the opposite defensive core. Tapu Koko is also a good partner, able to setup screens on hyper offense to facilitate Kommo-o's setup or bring it on foes like Blissey or Heatran to allow Kommo-o to use Belly Drum on those. Kommo-o also appreciates partners that can bring it on the field, such as Corviknight or Swampert. Lastly, Kommo-o's huge weakness to Draining Kiss means that a strong answer to Togekiss and Tapu Lele is needed as they can even outspeed it after the Unburden boost; Azelf and its Psychic Surge toi avoid priorities or Jirachi to take their hits are therefore good teammates. Also mention that it needs Unaware/Toxapex removed, and Wandering Spirit really cramps its style

This set exploits Kommo-o good offensive stats to use it as a powerful mixed Stealth Rock setter that can threaten almost all the Defoggers in the metagame. Thanks to Galvanize, Boomburst is turned into a strong Electric move with 168 of Base Power that can threaten the most common users of Defog in the metagame, in Tapu Fini and Corviknight. This set acts as a great lure to suprsingly kill KO an important Pokemon in the opposite team, as well as being able to reliably set up Stealth Rock. elaborate on the lure part; Corv, Fini, Pex, and Mandi are all common switch ins to Kommo that get deleted by Boom. Close Combat hits common Magic Bounce users such as Blissey, and give a strong offensive presence to Kommo-o, allowing it to threaten a lot of Pokemon such as Ferrothorn or Heatran. The last slot is relatively free flexible: you can opt for Dragon Dance to boost Close Combat and turn Kommo-o into a dangerous sweeper, Clanging Scales to hit harder opposing Kommo-o as well as threatening Ground-type such as Swampert, or Taunt to shut down recovery from Pokemon like Volt Absorb Corviknight, as well as avoiding setup or entry hazards from the foes. Life Orb is usually the preferred item to boost all of Kommo-o's attacks that are otherwise kinda weak, but Magnet can be useful to bluff the set while still doing high damage to Tapu Fini and Corviknight. The given spread allows Kommo-o to outspeed every Pokemon with 70 of Base Speed or less mention what is relevant at 70 Spe, while maximizing the damage of Boomburst and still having a decent power with Close Combat.

This set works the best in offensive teams to lure common answers to Kommo-o such as Toxapex or Corviknight. As such, Pokemon like Terrakion or Garchomp make great partners to take advantage when their counters are eliminated. Due to its great statistics, Kommo-o can use a wide variety of sets to surprise the opponent; its access to the powerful boosting move Clangorous Soul allows mixed set of setup sweepers, with a lot of options, thanks to Kommo-o's great movepool: Flamethorwer, Close Combat, Boomburst, Earthquake, all being valid options on those sets, which is also kinda free with its Ability, with a wide variety of possible abilities including Tough Claws and Galvanize being the proeminent one. I would add these are usually worse than Drumburden On defensive sets, Kommo-o can also run Magic Bounce, which allows it to completely deny Blissey Heatran->Blissey? and Swampert as Stealth Rock setter, as well as avoiding Toxic and still acting as a check for Zarude and Barraskewda. Lastly, defensive variants can use Substitute, coupled with Iron Defense and Body Press as only attack, to avoid Scald burn from Toxapex and Toxic from Swampert and turn themselves in very dangerous sweepers thanks to Body Press.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Flying-type**: Flying Pokemon such as Zapdos add Corv or something, if Zap is the only flying you mention, this should be Zapdos->flying types resist the Fighting STAB of Kommo-o, allowing them to eat Body Press and Drain Punch and hit back with a powerful Flying STAB.

**Fairiy-type**: Fairy-type such as Tapu Fini are a major nuisance for Kommo-o as they resist or are immune to its STABs; moreover, they can threaten it with powerful Fairy-moves, and Tapu Lele and Togekiss and even revenge kill it thanks to Draining Kiss and Triage.

**Defensive counterplay** : Despite being threateful, oOffensive Kommo-o often struggles to pass through a lot of common defensive staples of the metagame; Toxic from Pokemon like Swampert, Unaware, and specific Pokemon such as Mew or Landorus-T that Kommo-o can't usually OHKO are all viable answers to it. "Defensive counterplay" is super vague. I would make Unaware its own line (maybe with Pex?), and DS Mew another line. I don't think Toxic is a counter, DrumBurden can usually out-recover Toxic damage

I hate trying to list "checks and counters" here. Cause the defensive, Drumburden and Galv sets do very different things and have very different counters. Lame.

[SET COMMENTS]

Kommo-o's great bulk, alongside to its unique typing, allow it to check a wide variety of Pokemon in the AAA metagame. It is able to reliably switch into several prominent attackers like Zarude and Barraskewda, often punishing their attacks with Rocky Helmet, while also staying healthy through the use of Regenerator. Dauntless Shield can be used instead of Regenerator to have more bulk in exchange of less longevity, which can help to soft check foes like Terrakion, but it makes it very dependent on Leftovers or team support to stay healthy. No item is another option in order to check Dhelmise. Kommo-o also has good offensive presence with its powerful STAB Body Press, potentially boosted by Dauntless Shield. This allows it to threaten many offensive and defensive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn or Zarude, and act as a reliable Stealth Rock setter that can threaten common Magic Bounce users and Defoggers such as Blissey or Corviknight. Dragon Tail is used to prevent setup by foes that resist Body Press, as well as forcing the opposite team to take entry hazard damage. Lastly, Iron Defense can be used to effectively give it +2 Attack and Defense, allowing it to beat Corviknight one-on-one, as well as allowing it to take less damage from physical hits. Maybe something about sub + idef as a defensive wincon Poison Jab is an other option to threaten Fairy-type that are otherwise immune to Dragon Tail and take very little damage from Body Press, such as Tapu Fini or Tapu Koko, as well as fishing poison on Pokemon that resists Body Press like Zapdos. Toxic is an other option to reliably cripple Pokemon such as Tapu Fini. The given spread maximizes Kommo-o's physical bulk to check better physical threats.

This set fits well in bulky and balance teams, that enjoy Kommo-o's longevity and its ability to reliably set up Stealth Rock. Offensive Pokemon that are threaten out by Zarude and Barraskewda such as Heatran or Sheer Force Tapu Lele greatly appreciate Kommo-o's ability to come on those and chip them with the Rocky Helmet. Defensively, Kommo-o works well with Tapu Fini as they cover each other weaknesses and can check most of the physical attackers together. Despite its decent special bulk, Kommo-o can't usually take hits from special threats, so partners like Blissey or RegenVest Silvally-Dragon are often required. Kommo-o is particularly weak to Flying-type and Fairy-type as they don't fear Body Press; thus, good answers to threats like Zapdos, Tapu Koko, and Tapu Lele are needed, so Heatran or RegenVest Jirachi are great partners. Lastly, Kommo-o is completely unable to threaten Talonflame, so answers to it such as Zapdos are also good teammates.

move 4: X-Scissor / Substitute

[SET COMMENTS]
The combination of Belly Drum + Unburden turns Kommo-o into a deadly sweeper that can clean a team in a few turns. Activating its Sitrus Berry with Belly Drum, Kommo-o can be at +6 in Attack and have its Speed doubled in a single turn, making it very hard to stop. Lastly, X-Scissor is its best option to pass through bulky Psychic-type, such as Dauntless Shield Mew, even if it doesn't OHKO it from full. Dragon Claw works as an alternative option to give it dual STAB as well Substitute is an other option, in order to ease setup and avoid status from various defensive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Swampert, or Blissey, as well as avoiding the Will-O-Wisp of Mew and giving Kommo-o one turn under Substitute to take a priority move such as Draining Kiss. The given spread allows Kommo-o to maximize its offenses and activate Sitrus Berry after Belly Drum, and a Jolly nature allows it to outspeed Scarf Azelf, a common revenge killer to Adamant Kommo-o.

Kommo-o's weakness to Triage Draining Kiss means that a strong answer to Togekiss and Tapu Lele is needed as they can even outspeed it after the Unburden boost; Azelf and its Psychic Surge to avoid priorities or Jirachi to take their hits are therefore good teammates. You also need to be careful of Wandering Spirit, as Pokemon like Corviknight can remove the Unburden boost and make Kommo-o easier to revenge kill. Lastly, this set struggles to pass through Prankster Toxapex and Unaware walls such as Mandibuzz and Mew or Prankster Toxapex, so Pokemon that can threaten them such as Zapdos or Tapu Koko are good partners.

move 3: Close Combat
move 4: Dragon Dance / Clanging Scales / Taunt
item: Life Orb / Magnet
ability: Galvanize

evs: 28 Atk / 252 Spa / 228 Spe

This set exploits Kommo-o good offensive stats and access to Boomburst to use it as a powerful mixed Stealth Rock setter that can threaten almost all the Defoggers in the metagame. Thanks to Galvanize, Boomburst is turned into a strong Electric move that can threaten the most common users of Defog in the metagame, Tapu Fini and Corviknight. This set acts as a great lure to KO an important Pokemon in the opposite team, as well as being able to reliably set up Stealth Rock; Toxapex, Mandibuzz, or Tapu Fini are all common answers to others Kommo-o sets that are OHKO by Boomburst. Close Combat hits common Magic Bounce users such as Blissey, and give a strong offensive presence to Kommo-o, allowing it to threaten a lot of Pokemon such as Ferrothorn or Heatran. The last slot is relatively flexible: you can opt for Dragon Dance to boost Close Combat and turn Kommo-o into a dangerous sweeper, Clanging Scales to hit harder opposing Kommo-o as well as threatening Ground-type such as Swampert, or Taunt to shut down recovery from Pokemon like Volt Absorb Corviknight, as well as avoiding setup or entry hazards from the foes. Life Orb is usually the preferred item to boost all of Kommo-o's attacks, but Magnet can be useful to bluff the set while still doing high damage to Tapu Fini and Corviknight. The given spread allows Kommo-o to outspeed Pokemon with 70 of Base Speed or less such as Bisharp, while maximizing the damage of Boomburst and still having a decent power with Close Combat You need to specify what the point of the 28 atk does--does it score an OHKO or 2HKO on specific Pokemon?.

This set works the best in offensive teams to lure common answers to Kommo-o such as Toxapex or Corviknight, which can be particularly efficient in hyper offense teams Seems unnecessary since you already brought up offensive teams. As such, Pokemon like Terrakion or Garchomp make great partners to take advantage when their counters are eliminated. Pokemon such as Barraskewda appreciate having the entry hazards on the opposite side to chip their switch-ins. Despite being able to come on Zarude one or two times, this Kommo-o set lacks a lot of longevity and a secondary check to Zarude and Barraskewda is often required. Due to Kommo-o weakness to common attackers such as Zapdos, Azelf, and Tapu Lele, strong answers to it are often required so RegenVest Jirachi or Blissey make great teammates; moreover, they can bring Kommo-o on the field to help it set up Stealth Rock.

Other Options
=============

Due to its great stats, Kommo-o can use a wide variety of sets to surprise the opponent; its access to the powerful boosting move Clangorous Soul allows mixed set of setup sweepers, with a lot of options, thanks to Kommo-o's great movepool: Flamethorwer, Close Combat, Boomburst, Earthquake, all being valid options on those sets, with a wide variety of possible abilities including Tough Claws and Galvanize. Those sets are usually worse than Belly Drum one, but they can surprise your opponent. On defensive sets, Kommo-o can also run Magic Bounce, which allows it to completely deny some Stealth Rock setter such as Swampert, as well as avoiding Toxic and still acting as a check for Zarude and Barraskewda. Lastly, defensive variants can use Substitute, coupled with Iron Defense and Body Press as only attack, to avoid Scald burn from Toxapex and Toxic from Swampert and turn themselves in very dangerous sweepers thanks to Body Press.

Main feedback is that in general you seem to repeat mentions of Pokemon a lot. For example, in the galv section you mention how it beats defoggers (fini, corv), but then mention fin iagain the next sentence, and then mention pex and fini again in the paragraph about viable teammates. Either pick diff examples where applicable or just don't repeat too much if it has already been stated just before.

I don't think I can improve the repeat mention : that's the main point of Galv Kommo-o, and I think it's normal to focus on, and I don't think I'm repeating examples that much in general

Substitute is an other option, in order another option to ease setup and avoid status from various defensive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Swampert, or Blissey, as well as avoiding the Will-O-Wisp of Mew and Blissey, and Mew, as well as (I imagine mew counts as a defensive pokemon?) giving Kommo-o one turn under Substitute to take a priority move such as Draining Kiss. The given spread allows Kommo-o to maximize its offenses and 4 HP EVs allow it to activate Sitrus Berry after Belly Drum, and a Jolly nature allows it to outspeed Choice Scarf Azelf, a common revenge killer to that beats Adamant Kommo-o.

Belly Drum Kommo-o fits the best in hyper offense teams, (AC) but it can also be used in bulky offense or balance teams and act as a late game win condition. Kommo-o can act a very good cleaner, but it can also blows and balance teams as a late-game wincon. It can also blow holes in the opposite team to help other teammates to sweep. sweep instead. Thus, others physical threats such as Garchomp or and Talonflame make great partners in order to overwhelm the opposite defensive core. to overwhelm defensive cores. Tapu Koko is also a good partner, able to setup can set up dual screens on hyper offense to facilitate Kommo-o's setup or bring it on foes like Blissey or Heatran to allow Kommo-o to use Belly Drum on those. Kommo-o also appreciates partners that can bring it on the field, such as Corviknight or Swampert. set up. Corviknight and Swampert can also bring it onto the field. Kommo-o's weakness susceptibility to Triage Draining Kiss means that a strong answer to Togekiss and Tapu Lele is needed as they can even outspeed it after the Unburden boost; Azelf and its Psychic Surge to avoid priorities or Jirachi to take their hits are therefore good teammates. needed; Azelf's Psychic Terrain nullifies the move, while Jirachi takes hits from both Pokemon well. You also need to be careful of Wandering Spirit, as Pokemon like Corviknight can remove the Unburden boost and make Kommo-o easier to revenge kill. Lastly, this set struggles to pass through Prankster Toxapex and Unaware walls such as Mandibuzz and Mew, so Pokemon that can threaten them such as Zapdos or and Tapu Koko are good partners.

name: Galvanize
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Boomburst
move 3: Close Combat
move 4: Dragon Dance / Clanging Scales / Taunt
item: Life Orb / Magnet
ability: Galvanize
nature: Rash
evs: 28 Atk / 252 SpA / 228 Spe

This set exploits Kommo-o's good offensive stats and access to Boomburst to use it as Boomburst to make it a powerful and reliable mixed Stealth Rock setter that can threaten almost all the Defoggers in the metagame. Thanks to Galvanize, Boomburst is turned into a strong Electric move that can threaten the most common users of Defog in the metagame, even stronger and threatens the metagame's most common Defoggers, Tapu Fini and Corviknight. This set acts as a great lure to KO an important Pokemon in the opposite team, as well as being able to reliably set up Stealth Rock; Toxapex, Mandibuzz, or Tapu Fini are all common answers to others Kommo-o sets that are OHKO by Boomburst. important foes expecting another set, OHKOing common Kommo-o answers like Toxapex, Mandibuzz, and Tapu Fini. Close Combat hits common Magic Bounce users such as Blissey, and give a strong offensive presence to Kommo-o, allowing it to threaten Blissey and contributes to its strong offensive presence, threatening a lot of Pokemon such as Ferrothorn or and Heatran. The last moveslot is relatively flexible: you can opt for Dragon Dance to boost Close Combat and turn Kommo-o into a dangerous sweeper, Clanging Scales to hit harder opposing Kommo-o as well as harder while threatening Ground-types such as Swampert, or Taunt to shut down recovery from Pokemon like Volt Absorb Corviknight, as well as avoiding setup or entry hazards from the blocking setup and entry hazards from foes. Life Orb is usually the preferred item to boost all of Kommo-o's attacks, but Magnet can be useful to bluff the set while still doing preferred, but Magnet lets it do (removed bluff mention because i don't know what you're bluffing; this set has zero overlap in attacking moves with other sets; stealth rock overlaps but life orb doesn't give anything away when you use SR. please clarify what you are bluffing if you want to keep the bluff mention.) high damage to Tapu Fini and Corviknight. The given spread allows Speed EVs allow Kommo-o to outspeed Pokemon with 70 of Base Speed or less or less base Speed such as Bisharp, while maximizing the damage of Boomburst and the 28 EVs in Attack alongside to the Rash nature allow Kommo-o to have a decent power with Close Combat, as well as and a Rash nature keeps Close Combat decently strong while (yes, we understand that the 28 attack evs strengthen close combat, but that is a very odd and arbitrary benchmark unless it achieves a specific calc against something. you either need to provide a calc(s) or other very specific purpose, or use 4/252/252 evs.) keeping its ability to take physical hits relatively well.

This set works the best in offensive teams to lure in common answers to Kommo-o such as Toxapex or and Corviknight. As such, Pokemon countered by these answers like Terrakion or and Garchomp make great partners to take advantage when their counters are eliminated. Pokemon partners. Pivots (i imagine this is why pokemon like barraskewda especially appreciate sr?) such as Barraskewda appreciate having the entry hazards on the opposite side to chip entry hazards chipping their switch-ins. Despite being able to come in on Zarude one or two times, this Kommo-o set lacks a lot of longevity and a secondary check to Zarude and Barraskewda is often required. Due to Kommo-o's weakness to common attackers such as Zapdos, Azelf, and Tapu Lele, strong answers to it are often required so them like RegenVest Jirachi or and Blissey make great teammates; moreover, they can bring Kommo-o on the field to help it set up Stealth Rock.

Those sets are usually worse than Belly Drum one, but they can surprise your opponent. opponent, with a great movepool including Flamethrower, Earthquake, and the powerful boosting move Clangorous Soul. Many other abilities, including Tough Claws, are possible too. However, these sets are usually worse than those listed, and Galvanize Kommo-o already brings heavy surprise factor. (I imagine this makes sense?) On defensive sets, Kommo-o can also run Magic Bounce, which allows it to completely deny some Stealth Rock setters such as Swampert, as well as avoiding Toxic and still acting as a check for checking Zarude and Barraskewda. Lastly, defensive variants can use Substitute, coupled with Iron Defense and Body Press as only attack, to avoid Substitute over Dragon Tail alongside Iron Defense, avoiding Scald burns from Toxapex and Toxic from Swampert and turn themselves in very dangerous sweepers thanks to Body Press. while becoming very hard to stop as Body Press sweepers.

Checks and Counters

**Flying-types**: Flying-type Pokemon such as Zapdos or and Landorus-T resist the Fighting STAB of Kommo-o, allowing them to eat Body Press and Drain Punch Kommo-o's Fighting-type STAB moves and hit back with a powerful Flying STAB or pivot out on Flying-type STAB move or pivot out into a revenge killer.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types such as Tapu Fini are a major nuisance for Kommo-o, (AC) as they resist or are immune to its STAB moves; moreover, they can threaten it with powerful Fairy-type moves, and Tapu Lele and Togekiss and even revenge kill it thanks to Draining Kiss and Triage. However, Tapu Fini fears Galvanize Boomburst.

**Unaware and Haze**: Users of Unaware and Toxapex with Prankster + Haze can easily deny Kommo-o's sets that rely on stats boosts. (AC) such as Belly Drum. However, most of them can be lured in and beaten by Boomburst Galvanize sets.

**Dauntless Shield Mew**: Dauntless Shield Mew avoids the OHKO from any attack of Kommo-o and can threaten it back with Will-O-Wisp and Ice Beam, or just pivote out on into a revenge killer.

**Volt Absorb**: Volt Absorb users such as Toxapex or Coviknight can prevent Boomburst Kommo-o to lure from surprise KOing them. Moreover, Volt Absorb Toxapex is particularly efficient, (AC) as it can also stop Belly Drum Kommo-o with Haze and its immunity to Thunder Punch.

move 4: Iron Defense / Poison Jab
item: Rocky Helmet / Leftovers
ability: Regenerator / Dauntless Shield
nature: Impish
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

Kommo-o also has good offensive presence with its powerful STAB Body Press, potentially boosted by Dauntless Shield. It Shield, which can threaten many offensive and defensive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Zarude while reliably setting Stealth Rock, threatening common Magic Bounce users and Defoggers such as Blissey and Corviknight Zarude. It also threatens common Defoggers and Magic Bounce users like Corviknight and Blissey, allowing it to reliably set Stealth Rock. Dragon Tail is used to phazes setup Pokemon that resist Body Press, as well as racking and racks up Stealth Rock damage.

Defensively, Kommo-o and Tapu Fini as they cover each other's weaknesses and can check most physical attackers together. Despite its decent special bulk, Kommo-o can't usually take hits from special threats, so partners like Blissey and RegenVest Silvally-Dragon are often required. Kommo-o is particularly weak to Flying- and Fairy-types as they don't fear Body Press; thus, good answers to threats like Zapdos, Tapu Koko, and Tapu Lele are needed, for example Heatran or and RegenVest Jirachi. Lastly, Kommo-o is completely unable to threaten Talonflame, so answers to it such as Zapdos are also good teammates.

Substitute is another option to ease setup and avoid status from various defensive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Swampert, Blissey, and Mew, (comma) as well as giving Kommo-o one turn to take a priority move such as Draining Kiss allowing Kommo-o to survive a Triage Draining Kiss. 4 HP EVs allow it to activate Sitrus Berry after Belly Drum, and a Jolly nature allows it to outspeed Choice Scarf Azelf, a common revenge killer that beats Adamant Kommo-o.
