Hi, this is Mangojean100 here with my first RMT and it's an OU sun team! So I hope you like it (and that I don't mess up a lot XD)!
As absolutely none of you know, I'm a complete noob so please don't hate and instead, give me advice! That's why it's called an RMT. So here's the team!
Team Building Process
Charizard / Trevenant
First, my core was Mega Charizard Y and Trevenant.
Charizard / Excadrill / Trevenant
I needed a spinner for Charizard and used Excadrill.
Charizard / Espeon / Excadrill / Trevenant
I wanted a Screener/Morning Sun abuser and Espeon seemed perfect for the job.
Charizard / Conkeldurr / Espeon / Excadrill / Smeargle / Trevenant
I just wanted to use Conkeldurr and used Smergle for hazards.
Charizard / Conkeldurr / Espeon / Excadrill / Heliolisk / Trevenant
Smergle was getting killed before I could get two hazards up and the one less Pokemon was a huge disadvantage in many games. Changed it to Heliolisk and gave Excadrill Stealth Rocks.
Charizard / Conkeldurr / Latias / Excadrill / Heliolisk / Trevenant
Used Latias instead of Espeon as my Screener and Defoger. Excadrill was pretty much worthless at this time but I removed Rapid Spin and kept it for Coverage, Hazards, and to make the team more balanced.
Charizard / Conkeldurr / Heatran / Latias / Heliolisk / Trevenant
I wanted a sun abuser/rocker, but quickly put back Excadrill as I had too many special attackers and Heatran is very similar to Charizard.
Charizard / Conkeldurr / Donphan / Latias / Heliolisk / Trevenant
After much thought, added Donphan instead of Excadrill and made minor changes to Trevenant.
Charizard / Conkeldurr / Donphan / Espeon / Heliolisk / Trevenant
Put Espeon back in as it does it's job better than Latias.
The Team
Charizard (M) @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Air Slash
- Dragon Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
As you all should know by now, Mega Charizard Y is very good. I use him to set up sun, and kill a few Pokemon before he dies. I like to lead with him, so when he dies, Espeon can get sun up again. An all out attacking set (although I'm thinking about replacing Dragon Pulse), this set is okay, but not as good as exspected. Air Slash is for Breloom, Dragon Pulse is for Mega Charizard X, Fire Blast is for destruction XD, and Solar Beam is for Rotom W.
Conkeldurr (M) @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Facade
- Mach Punch
Conkeldurr is so good! Base 145 Attack with Guts will do a lot of damage. This set is pretty standard, I believe, but here's how it works, You set up a Bulk Up on a switch, then try to sweep. When Burn has whittled down your HP far enough, go for the Drain Punch to regen. Mach Punch is for Priority and Facade is for 140 Base Power. On a Pokemon that has Guts. I know it doesn't really fit into the sun theme, but I wanted a Fighting Type and Conkeldurr seemed good for the job. I am open for suggestions to replace it, but please include a set!
Donphan (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Fire Fang
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
Donphan is my Hazard setter and my second Defensive Wall. I have Sturdy to help me take Special Attacks, Earthquake is STAB, Fire Fang is in the sun, and Rapid Spin is for Charizard. Anways, this Donphan is a great fit on my team because it walls many threats to me. I kind of want to put in Ice Shard, so which moveslot?
Espeon (M) @ Light Clay
Ability: Magic Bounce
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Light Screen
- Morning Sun
- Reflect
- Sunny Day
Espeon is my second sun setter upper. I wanted Light Clay instead of Heat Rock as this is my Screener, and with so many frail Pokemon on my team, I NEED THEM TO LAST LONGER! I used to be running Calm Mind + Psychic on this, but that was back when Smeargle was my second sun setter. A nice fast Special Wall, Espeon can take hits and if I see a physical attack coming my way, I can switch to Conkeldurr or Donphan. Morning Sun makes for great regen too. I try to not sarifice Espeon, as it's fast enough to set up sun when I really need it.
Heliolisk (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Solar Power
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dark Pulse
- Focus Blast
- Grass Knot
- Volt Switch
I have not had a ton of experience with Heliolisk, but it is very good. Although it has horrible Defence, its Special Defence is respectable and it has great Special Attack and Speed. Because of this, I run a Choice Specs set. First, I would like to mention that I am only using it becasue of its ability, which with Choice Specs gives it double Special Attack. The set is fairly regular, although I'll probably replace Grass knot with a high Base Power Electric Type move as I don't like getting locked into a weight dependant move. Volt Switch is great for scouting, and I use this as my lead sometimes. I also like this set because it has great coverage.
Trevenant (M) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Harvest
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Confuse Ray
- Horn Leech
- Leech Seed
- Will-O-Wisp
Trevenant is a great wall that I hope you will use someday. Why, well it gets the perfect moveset to be one. Although its Stats are somewhat lackluster, Will-O-Wisp can help. I orginally had Protect, but that to me is a waste of sun so I took it off. Harvest is 100% accurate in the sun and Sitrus berry makes it hard to kill. I am considering another attacking move as Leech Seed and Confusion get removed on a switch.
Okay, that's it. Sorry for every time I messed up,no sprites (I was lazy) EDIT: I did, short desriptions, and every other place I messed up. And the past Pokemon's sets accidentally got deleted so yeah... anyways, please rate and I am on Showdown! often in the Lobby if you want to battle this team =D. Happy battling, everyone! Also, all art was found on Google Images and they belong to their rightful owners.
