Instacheck Hotspot -- a fast Pokémon checker for XY

Sorry, I'm slightly confused at the moment. Do your settings and connections look similar to this? View attachment 4507 or is the miniport staying grey/disabled no matter what you do?
If they do look similar, what message is instacheck giving you?
The miniport is staying gray/disabled no matter what I do. I can't get the host connection to start to start with instacheck or CMD. Same error "The hosted network couldn't be started. The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation."

edit: I have verified through the driver information that is able to hosted networks, so that's not the issue.

All seems well on the laptop except that when I do try and scan as it says nothing came up. Why?
Is your instacheck connection the only connection you have on your 3ds right now? To make sure you're not accidentally connecting to your other ones, delete all the ones aside from your instacheck one.
Are you scanning the miniport connection? When you're scanning, are you doing a trade and showing your trading partner something? Or if you can't find someone to trade with, do a wonder trade.

got the "virtual router plus could not be started" message and rebooting the computer didn't work - but google came through for me. long story short, toggle the IPv6 setting on the adapter, and maybe disable/enable it, and also maybe reboot your computer before/after all of that. long story long:

(i'm not sure how these things are different with any OS other than windows 7, but if you are at all computer savvy it should be easy to figure out with some poking around. if anyone is having trouble let me know!)

1. reboot your computer like i did. i'm not sure if it's necessary, but i know at least some of the problems like this involve there already being a connection set up.

2. open the network and sharing center; you can get to it from control panel > network and internet

3. figure out which adapter the hotspot is using. if your issue is similar to mine, network/sharing center should look like this:

lQGhX4X.png

the connection with the blacked out name is my own wireless. the one below it, obviously, is the adapter the VRP is trying to use. click on it and then click on "properties" on the popup window.

if the second connection isn't showing up, try going to "change adapter settings" on the left and picking the (a?) wireless one that ISN'T what you're already using to connect your computer to the internet. if you've used instacheck hotspot before, it might have something like virtualrouterplus.com on it (or whatever you named your hotspot if you changed the name). right click and select "properties".

4. in the properties menu, uncheck the IPv6 option and click OK.

5. check if you can at least run the hotspot now. if not, try toggling the adapter disable/enable setting, from the same window/menu as the properties button. if the hotspot runs, good - but my 3ds couldn't connect to it (though it was able to set up a connection), so i thought it might require IPv6 and apparently it does.

6. stop running the hotspot, go back to the properties menu and recheck IPv6. run the hotspot, delete the old connection to it on your 3ds, and make a new one.

7. that should be it, but if your 3ds refuses to connect to it through the actual pokemon game just try stopping and restarting the hotspot.

and now that i've finally got mine working again, does anyone want to help me check some eggs?

Does anything on this page help? http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...indows-7/9ac605d4-f345-4b6e-85d6-067524a6c5ae :( I imagine this must be very frustrating for you. Sorry I can't be of more help. >_<

It sounds like Winpcap didn't install correctly or wasn't installed at all. Try reinstalling it and if you have to force it to install, force it. xD. edit: if you get any other errors while installing, let me know.

Hmm now I am getting "The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation" when I try to start the hotspot

Edit restarted computer and the error above is gone. retrying the rest now.

I'm having a lot of troubles with this...

I have connected to the hotspot, have my home network setup below it in the 3ds settings, and connected to the internet in the actual game.

However, when i click the start scanning button and go into a trade with my trading partner nothing shows up no matter what i select above the "start scanning" button. :\

So I have desperately been trying to get instacheck to work for the past 2 days and have had no such luck doing so, I"ve read just about every page of this discussion and tried all the advice given and I still keep getting the "virtualrouter plus has stopped working" error message. anyone mind helping me?

Delete the other connection so that instacheck is the only one. I think you may be connecting to your home network instead.

This one? If so, go to services.msc from the start menu/search and make sure WLAN auto config is set to automatic and start it. services.png

Then we have a problem somewhere :(
I'm really not sure how to fix it at that stage, but some people have managed to get it working by disabling the firewalls on their computer.

And then this is where I start to fall under the "I am technologically inept and have no hope of ever getting this working" category... :c

I've tried that multiple times and still get the same error, I'm running vista home premium on a pretty crap tier laptop. running wired through ethernet and still no luck.
