Im Sippin Tea In Yo Hood, A Masterpiece by CTC
Lordnalysis
I have given the masses bag after bag in 2024, some of the most popular teams from SPL XV (darkspam), WCOP (Rilla Garg), OLT (too many to count), and SCL (Tea Keld). Some of the teams your faves been RMTing just recently may have been throwaways of mine from 6 months ago (peep the date I was innovating araq webs yes it was buns out season). I have been a frequent contributor to the sample team section, still, many teams are not taken in as it would make the sample section look like Drake featuring Drake if all lordheat were to be annexed. This team, however, is one that deserves its own RMT. Not only did it debut by carrying 3D to a OLT playoff win, this team carried many suspect voters through multiple reqs including IDM’s very own Blunder going 30-0, which is no small feat. The team boasts a ridiculous winrate in team tours as well, winning roughly 70-80 percent of the time. 3d immediately peaked ladder with the team at 2075, and more recently, a friend who had just picked up playing again cruised to #1 at 2100+ in just a few days, so that’s two peaks 4 months apart. Enough glaze, here’s the team that’s been most influential, winningest, and probably my magnum opus of 2024, debuted by 3d in OLT https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen9ou-789965
3d Ladder Peak:

Note: EVs have been altered to be a baseline value, otherwise everyone would just creep one another.
Team:
Tchavis Scott (Sinistcha-Masterpiece) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Heatproof
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 248 HP / 248 Def / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Matcha Gotcha
- Shadow Ball
- Strength Sap
I have always had a liking for hazard + ghost structures, ranging from Chomp/Lu + Ghold since early SV1 to more modern versions of LuTcha. What tea provides vs offense is easy blocking of non tera ice tusk spins, supplemented by its naturally good mu vs fat in longer games. This thing paired with hazards and phasing almost guarantees an easy matchup vs offense.
Jarhead (Ting-Lu) @ Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
- Spikes
- Ruination
- Earthquake
- Whirlwind
Ol reliable hazard setter. I decided against my usual playbook of dual hazards + tea as both ruination chip and ww phazing are essential here, providing 2 valuable trump cards vs all forms of offense in chip damage and preventing setup. This guy is self explanatory, and it only has a few bad MUs in the more durable mons that stick around (hydrapple, gliscor etc). Other than that, a near perfect creation by gamefreak.
Tinkki Minaj (Tinkaton) (F) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 248 HP / 28 Def / 232 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Gigaton Hammer
- Thunder Wave
- Encore
- Stealth Rock
This mons is the reason I elected to split up the hazards. Shoutout Vert who popularized Tink in SV a few months ago, the visionary saw how easy and reliable it is for this mon to get rocks but also punish uturn boots havers with pickpocket (Pult comes to mind). I alternate between the two abilities as MB demolishes tanky np Ghold who want to set up for game, whereas pickpocket remedies some issues vs boots spam teams such as vs the aforementioned Pult. MB has the additional benefit of nearly auto winning the sun mu as unblockable and unspinnable rocks bypass not only Tusk but also Hat, making the game a matter of a few phazing attempts. Self explanatory set, knock can be teched in over wave if one so prefers.
My Little Pwny (Keldeo) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Justified
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Vacuum Wave
- Surf
- Flip Turn
- Aura Sphere
The star of the show. This mon faded into obscurity due to power and speed creep in the last few generations, but with hazards essentially pumping up damage output and the access to a timely tera water, this thing is hitting like a truck again. Tera water surf (or hydro for the bold) not only demolishes neutral mons in 2, Keld’s natural bulk allows it to trade effectively vs the one or few threats every team has for this team. Further, predicting an ice spinner aimed at Tcha, this guy comes in with impunity and forces out tusk while keeping momentum with flip turn. This thing is the pivoting engine that gets so many hazards up, as Lu/Tink come in on every possible combination of mons that want to come in on this (barring waterpon). Access to priority also saves us from late game Gambit/Darkrai issues, while special aura sphere chips alo harder and saves us from fast normal Scor speed tie wars. Overall, this mon fills its role exceptionally and makes this team work.
Secret Service (Dragonite) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Multiscale
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 248 HP / 224 Atk / 16 Def / 20 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Tail
- Extreme Speed
- Roost
- Earthquake
The OG Ol reliable acts like the Secret Service as in the security dtail lets no threat go undeterred. This mon is a panic oh shit button that gives us a get out of jail free card vs most setup mons. Slower tanky setup gets encored, while fast, strong setup gets phazed. The set was originally DD but wincon wise we are not in desperate need of, whereas most breaking teams rely on non-boots mons to do damage, meaning one phaze with hazards up and its joev. Self explanatory movesetup, strong hitter that revenges not only through brute strength but also phazing, a good panic button v most of HO and offense.
Dance Armstrong (Gliscor) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 244 HP / 12 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Facade
- Protect
Some would say this is the real MVP of the team. I have been told this team is the best SD Gliscor team in SV, which I agree with. Not only does the rest of the team patch up bad MUs of jolly SD normalscor, it creates the perfect environment to fit this set. We have enough speed to outduel Tusk, Samu, Kyurem and the sort, sometimes allowing you to just tera normal off rip and go to work. In addition, the longevity factor allows us to outgreed tanky fat max boots mirrors, allowing for knock to slowly remove items for the long game and beat other Gliscor. Lastly, the typing gives us key immunities and resists conducive to the hyper aggressive pivoting playstyle this team thrives on. An essential piece of the puzzle, and one of the best utilized wincons this structure can offer. The set is flexible, slower with knock eq and a defensive tera is also viable.
Summary:
I have seen a few counterfeits of this team floating around, some even managing to make it to sample teams (shameless haha!), but the frauds will never come close to the original. There’s a reason Keldeo is chosen after rounds of experimentation with other mons such as ol trusty Zama or Boots staple disruptors Rai/Weav, who all resist sucker punch. However, Not only did I need a special attacker, I also want a brainless switch-in to Gambit that can force it to take more hazards damage than I do on the switch, making Keld the ultimate candidate. Every mon on this team is indispensable and nobody feels out of place, the feedback I have gotten about this team is that everyone usually comes out of their pokeball and puts in some kind of work, making this the epitome of a synergistic team whose combined power is greater than the sum of individual parts (multiple non OU mons). Another great thing about this team is variable set choices, as one can toy with certain items, abilities, and movesets to create their own variation.
Shoutout to Vert for being my counterpart in creating some of the best teams this tier has ever seen, and my personal pick for best gen 9 player of all time. Moreover, shoutout to Blunder, Soulwind, Lax, 3D, Giannis Antekommo-o, Ima and co for not only trusting Lordheat in tournaments, but always testing and providing feedback, allowing me to create numerous masterpieces. Shoutout everyone with an eye for talent that reached out early to farm with this team in OLT and SCL, you deserve the wins. Lastly, shoutout to myself for feeding the streets for all of SV, two years straight, all hits no misses, still running this on some Lebron year 20 shit #GOAT
