Mega Mawile is a truly devastating wall breaker boasting a wide array of coverage options that makes it a terror for defensive teams to pivot around safely. Ice punch targets foes like Landorus-T and Gliscor. The former not being a reliable switch in at all as Ice Punch OHKOs even after Intimidate.Thunder Punch hits Defensive Water-type Pokemon like Slowbro, Alomomola, and Toxapex attempting to come in on Play Rough. Fire Fang nails Steel-types like Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Gholdengo. Knock Off an another option that can be utilized to furtherdiscourage Gholdengo, as well as stopping Pecharunt from switching in. Lastly, Brick Break can be used to completely eviscerate Kingambit, in addition to preventing Heatran from otherwise walling Mega Mawile.

Mawile is found mostly on Bulky Offense teams. These teams appreciate Mawile's ability to exert pressure on common defensive staples like Ting-Lu and Ferrothorn. Landorus-T makes an effective partner as it provides a crucial Ground-Type switch in for Mega-Mawile against faster foes like Great Tusk and opposing Landorus-T that forces out Mega-Mawile.
