This golden bird shines back into Ubers! Ho-Oh serves as a good utility Pokemon that fits well on almost any team thanks to its amazing defenses, great ability, and good STAB combination. Earthquake hits Miraidon, Skeledirge, Eternatus, and Tera Fire variants of Zacian-C and Necrozma-DM. Whirlwind is an alternative that can help stop sweepers like Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy. Recover allows Ho-Oh to be able to pivot into Koraidon. Tera Ground benefits Ho-Oh by removing its Electric weakness, helping against Miraidon. This EV spread allows Ho-Oh to outspeed Adamant Necrozma-DM. Ho-Oh can pair well with offensive partners like Kyurem-B, Eternatus, and U-turn variants of Miraidon, as they can help overwhelm its checks like Ting-Lu, Skeledirge, and Arceus-Water. Other defensive Pokemon like Landorus-T, Necrozma-DM, and Gliscor are also beneficial teammates for Ho-Oh, being able to offer a backbone against targets like Rayquaza, Basculegion, and Koraidon. Zacian-C and Scale Shot Koraidon are good partners as well, as they can appreciate the defensive utility that Ho-Oh provides.
