SS UU Help with team!

Hello, I'm fairly new to this and just wanting to put together a solid team. Here's what I'm currently working with.

rhyperior.png

Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Rock Blast
- Swords Dance

My lead off and hazard setter. I'm new to this so I have so far been prioritizing setting stealth rock over getting him out of the way of a super effective attack. Has probably cost me a couple of times, but this doesn't seem to happen often. Aside from hazard setting Rhyperior hits fairly hard, especially when able to setup with swords dance. High defense means that he can stand up against some heavy attackers while doing a decent amount of damage on his own. Considering switching him out for Toxapex to use toxic spikes instead.

milotic.png

Milotic @ Leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 SpD
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Recover
- Dragon Breath
- Haze

Milotic is a favorite and has been on my team since gen 4 consistently. I know there are better options, but I'd much rather keep Milotic on the team. I also skipped the NDS generation so toxic is unavailable to me currently, and since my Milotic is shiny, I don't know that I care that much. Great defense means it can stall well against most threats, while Scald and Dragon breath give the opportunity to burn or paralyze. One of the reasons I'm leaning towards stealth rock over toxic spikes currently. Generally I'm leaning more towards using Dragon Breath to paralyze unless Scald would be super effective.

sylveon.png

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Protect
- Mystical Fire

First time ever playing with Sylveon and I'm kind of having mixed feelings. I've not played a game since fairy type was introduced so I'm still learning a bit. I've also never had a healer type role in any of the games I've played so that's something else I'm trying to figure out. Hyper Voice hits pretty hard, and it seems to be holding up pretty well holding up defensively so I can use Wish to heal it or my other Pokemon. Mystical Fire doesn't I'm considering switching for Heal Bell because I've yet to find a situation where I've needed to use it where I don't have a better offensive option.

espeon.png

Espeon @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Morning Sun

Espeon is my favorite pokemon ever. Kind of like Milotic, I know there are better options but I would love to keep Espeon. I've had great results from it and have played pretty much this same build forever. The big change in this gen has been getting one with HA vs using Synchronize for me. Espeon is my main special attacker. Setup with Calm Mind means Psychic hits incredibly hard and Shadow Ball provides some decent coverage. Morning sun lets her recover as needed. Having Magic Bounce has proven interesting at dealing with Toxic users.

lucario.png

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
IVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake

First time using Lucario as a physical attacker. Just recently added him to the mix for better coverage. Was originally tossing around the idea of Weavile here instead. Lucario has been good in this spot. Considered switching out Earthquake because it's a bit redundant with Rhyperior on the team but haven't yet. I opted for Lucario over Weavile because a fighting type was better for coverage and the steel type pairing fit very well. I opted for Innner Focus over Justified here because it seemed to have more utility IMO, but again being new to this I could be wrong.

noivern.png

Noivern @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Hurricane
- Roost

Noivern has been really solid as well. Just recently started using him but really have no complaints. Seems to fit well with the rest of the team that I've setup and really helps with coverage. Recently replaced Corviknight because I preferred the typing. Draco Meteor is usually used to drop a big threat, but because of the drop in SP. Atk after using it I use it sparingly or switch out afterwards. I tend to hold off on using Noivern til late game unless type advantage is there since Espeon seems to hit harder as a special attacker.

Thanks for any assistance guys. It's very much appreciated.

Hey Nazox9 I'm locking this RMT because you are missing a couple of key things, the main one being the lack of EVs. Please follow the formatting shown below for all of your sets. The forum rules also require that you provide at least 3 lines of descriptions for each Pokemon to explain their roles. PM me with updated descriptions and sets then I'll be happy to unlock this.

Noivern @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Hurricane
- Roost

Hey Nazox9, this is an interesting team, and as an Espeon fan too I was enticed to rate this. As Espeon is your favourite Pokemon, I decided to try and focus this team around supporting Espeon as much as I could to get the most out of it, by optimising its set and providing pivots that can get it into play more due to its poor bulk, and deal with your issues with stuff like Chandelure, Sun teams, and breaking bulky Water-types like Milotic in the process.

Minor Change -

:espeon: (set change)

Espeon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Weather Ball
- Psychic
- Trick
- Shadow Ball

To really make use of Espeon properly, and take advantage of its much better speed tier as a breaker than Gardevoir, you have to get around one of its biggest weaknesses in this tier right now in Incineroar. Luckily, due to the extremely high Gigalith usage atm, (and the Gigalith i'll be adding on this team later), Weather Ball is a neat option to be able to do this,

252 SpA Choice Specs Espeon Weather Ball (100 BP Rock) vs. 248 HP / 84+ SpD Incineroar in Sand: 296-350 (75.3 - 89%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after sandstorm damage

I also changed your item to a Choice Specs on Espeon as this maximises its damage versus targets like Incineroar, allows it to cripple targets like SpDef Milotic and Umbreon with Trick, and stops it being chipped away at as quickly, which is important with its frailty. Espeon prefers to just immediately attack with Choice Specs sets due to its poor bulk, meaning it'll struggle to pull off a Calm Mind set like yours reliably.

Major Change -

:rhyperior: -> :gigalith:

Gigalith @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Atk / 244 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Toxic

Obviously, to support Weather Ball Espeon we need a Gigalith of our own, especially for matchups against different Rockers. It can also help to check Chandelure for you and check Sun teams, and cripple bulky waters with Toxic to improve your ability to get through them.

Minor Change -

:sylveon: (set change)

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Heal Bell
- Wish
- Hyper Voice
- Protect

One issue your team has is reliably dealing with Haxorus in its current form, due to using a specially defensive Sylveon. Physically defensive helps to deal with this by giving you a fantastic check to it, while still allowing you to check stuff like Noivern with it. As you said you dont find Mystical Fire to be very helpful, I changed this to Heal Bell to help support Gigalith by removing its status, and similarly support the next teammate i added in Incineroar, to create a great defensive backbone for you.

Major Change -

:lucario: -> :incineroar:

Incineroar @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 108 Def / 84 SpD / 68 Spe
Careful Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Knock Off
- Parting Shot
- Close Combat

While Lucario gave you a nice offensive Fighting type to pressure Incineroar, Gigalith, and Rhyperior, it left you more open defensively due to using a frail Steel type. Incineroar in this slot instead helps to further improve your Gardevoir and Chandelure matchups, but also gives you a much needed check to Steel-types like Bronzong and Escavalier after removing Mystical Fire from Sylveon.

Parting Shot support from Incineroar is also helpful to get Espeon in on targets like Weezing and a weakened Rhyperior. I recommended Close Combat over a status move in the last slot since it can heavily chip Gigalith attempting to switch in, making it easier for your Noivern and Espeon to deal with.

0 Atk Incineroar Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Gigalith: 156-184 (41.7 - 49.1%) -- 17.6% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Minor Change -

:noivern: (set change)

Noivern @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 56 HP / 200 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- U-turn
- Defog
- Roost

You currently lacked any hazard control on your team, and Espeon isnt a reliable way of magic bouncing any entry hazards in the tier, so this is definitely necessary on a more bulky team like yours. Hurricane also lets you better deal with Araquanid, which you had some issues with, especially Sub-Toxic variants. U-turn is also nice to maintain momentum versus Gigalith and Rhyperior, as you don't want to be letting them in for free.

Major Change -

:milotic: -> :rotom-wash:

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 188 HP / 112 SpA / 208 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Volt Switch
- Discharge
- Hydro Pump

Unfortunately I was not able to keep Milotic on this team, as the matchup versus bulky Water-types was too lacking. A nasty plot Rotom-Wash set gives you a nice pivot into bulky Water types like Milotic, while having a way to break them unlike a defensive set and a way to punish checks like Noivern with Discharge para's. This still maintains your bulky Water-type, and with support from Sylveon it should still be able to maintain itself over a match to check targets like Gigalith and Rhyperior.

Rotom-Wash is also a very useful partner for Espeon here, as it typically brings Roserade in with Volt Switch, due to Roserade being able to hhandle Nasty Plot Rotom-Wash.

I hope you like this new version of the team. This version definitely improves the matchups I mentioned at the start, while helping to support Espeon far better for you. Let me know if you have any questions.
