Hey everyone. This is my first post in the forums. I have been testing a lot of things in the new meta and I have made a team that I think works well and I would like to get all your thoughts on it!

Gyarados @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Bounce
- Power Whip

Gyarados is currently a very prominent sweeper in SS OU. It is one of my potential Dynamax sweepers on this team. Bounce and Waterfall are my two STAB moves, both giving great benefits with Dynamax; +1 Speed with Max Airstream and setting the rain with Max Geyser. Power Whip allows Gyarados to take out one of the original hard counters to it in Rotom-Wash. There's not much that this Gyarados can't beat but when using it, you have to be careful as Ditto can easily reverse sweep teams as Gyarados. Heavy-Duty Boots mean I take no damage on entry from rocks, allowing Gyarados to have that extra 25% health to allow it to set up.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Power Whip
- Spikes/Stealth Rock
- Protect
- Knock Off/Leech Seed

Ferrothorn plays an important defensive role on my team. I think the EVs are certainly subject to change as well as the moves. Ferrothorn mainly allows me to check and counter certain Pokemon. It counters Ditto if it transforms into my Gyarados, gives me another decent switch into Adamant Scarf Dracovish, Excadrill and more. I like Knock Off just for the utility but Leech Seed is a good option as well alongside Protect. Stealth Rock and Spikes are interchangeable depending on personal preference.

jellicent (1).png

Jellicent @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Recover
- Will-O-Wisp
- Scald
- Shadow Ball

Jellicent provides me with my main switch in to Galarian Darmanitan. It resists Icicle Crash, Flare Blitz and U-Turn whilst taking Earthquake well if Darmanitan is Scarf. However if hazards are up for the opponent, Jellicent can't take two Choice Banded Earthquakes which is a problem. Water Absorb is handy for rain teams and Fishious Rend Dracovish. Will-O-Wisp helps me cripple the physically offensive threats I'm facing or just to negate Leftovers on certain walls which helps a lot.

hydreigon.png

Hydreigon @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Flamethrower
- Dark Pulse
- Flash Cannon/Draco Meteor

Hydreigon has a pretty self explanatory set. The introduction of Nasty Plot to it gives it a sweeper option now. Hydreigon is also another potential Dynamax user on the team. Flamethrower helps me OHKO Ferrothorn at +2 or with no Special Attack boosts after a small amount of chip as well as hitting Pokemon like Corviknight harder. Flash Cannon hits Togekiss, Hatterene and Tyranitar however Draco is good for hitting walls at +2 and for opposing Hydreigon. Hydreigon also gives me the ground and psychic immunity. Leftovers is to help with longevity if I have to switch it in at times and for when I Dynamax to get some recovery.

Hatterene (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Mystical Fire
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
- Giga Drain

Hatterene provides me with a good special wall that also doesn't stop my offensive momentum. Mystical Fire hits Ferrothorn really hard as well as letting me damage Corviknight and other steels on the switch like Excadrill. Giga Drain is for the Pokemon such as Seismitoad, Drednaw and the likes. Psychic and Dazzling Gleam are standard STAB. Magic Bounce is really nice for my team as I lack hazard removal.

Grimmsnarl-Gmax (M) @ Black Glasses
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 196 HP / 252 Atk / 60 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bulk Up
- Spirit Break
- Sucker Punch
- Darkest Lariat

Grimmsnarl fills out the last spot on my team. It gives me a good switch in to Dragapult which is currently a giant threat to my team especially if it Dynamaxes. Even with Grimmsnarl it still causes major problems. I have Grimmsnarl as GMax as it gives me another option when it comes to situations where it may just outright win. Black Glasses is a great item for this set as it boosts both Sucker Punch and Darkest Lariat. Darkest Lariat is also nice as it means Corviknight can't Bulk Up in Grimmsnarl's face. Spirit Break is more STAB which is good for lowering Special Attack too. The 60 Speed EVs allow me to outspeed min Speed Corviknight by 1. Even without Dynamax, Grimmsnarl is a threat which is why I enjoy using it.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this. Please be sure to leave a comment on my team. I am not very experienced in team building so any advice would be much appreciated. I do think Hatterene can cause this team some big problems but can be played around. In general I think fairies with bulk are hard to deal with and have to be played around accordingly. Hydreigon and Kommo-o can also cause problems. If there is anything else, let me know!

Thanks for reading!

There is literally no reason to use Black Glasses over EBelt on grimmsnarl

Black Glasses boosts my dark types moves even when not Super effective. AV Hatterene can be changed for a specially defensive calm mind version perhaps. Any suggestion is welcome! And I explained the Grimmsnarl speed EVs, for Corviknight and then the HP is for bulk

EBelt does the same + also boosts Spirit Break
sorry didn't see the grimmsnarl explanation

omg I don't know what I was thinking.
Apologize.
Still, I'm not sure if offensively-orientated Grimmsnarl is the best way to go; I find support/utility puts in more work in general.
I’m considering bulkier. I just need to keep testing to see how the team deals with all sorts of other teams

It seems to work best vs Rain
