Gorebyss (Analysis)

Okay, before this gets written, I think a Dream World section is probably necessary. Also, Gorebyss with Swift Swim is now banned with Drizzle, so just fix up some sections regarding Rain and Shell Break when you do write his.

Bumpity bumpity bump! The analysis has finally been formally written. Time for GP checks and proof-reads!

I'll GP this hopefully (on request).

Quick little nitpick (you don't have to post to clarify you've fixed it):

Dual Screen support is appreciated, as it allows Gorebyss and her receiver to take hits easily. Deoxys-S proudly claims itself to be the fastest Pokemon in the entire game to set up the screens and should be considered. Latios has decent defensive synergy with Gorebyss and can also use Memento, effectively leaving the foe with -6 Attack and Special Attack with screens set up. If offensively-oriented Pokemon are not desirable, some defensive options include Jirachi, Uxie (who, once again, can use Memento to your team's advantage) and Bronzong. It is recommended to have at least two dual screeners on a team with Shell Smash + Baton Pass Gorebyss.

[Overview]

Do not be fooled by Gorebyss's docile appearance. Access to Shell Break, one of the best set-up moves in the entire game, makes her quite a threat to deal with, especially in the rain. As if that weren't enough, Gorebyss can also pass on this boost to absolute monsters with a little team support. She does have a few flaws, such as low HP and Special Defense stats and a heavy reliance on White Herb, but nevertheless, Gorebyss is a surprising and nasty threat that every team should be prepared for.

[SET]
name: Shell Break Sweeper
move 1: Shell Break
move 2: Surf
move 3: Hidden Power Grass / Hidden Power Fire
move 4: Ice Beam
item: Life Orb
ability: Swift Swim
nature: Modest
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[Set Comments]

With a single Shell Break, Gorebyss now has a +2 boost for its Attack, Special Attack and Speed stat, making it a formidable threat. This ability to double its offensive stats also makes it a great sweeper under the rain (although rain is not required). However, the move also comes at the cost of lowering both of Gorebyss's defenses by one stage, meaning that she must be brought in carefully and is vulnerable to priority. For these reasons, Gorebyss is best used as a late-game sweeper, where any dangerous threats should be taken care of.

Surf, combined with a Shell Break boost, can easily OHKO or 2HKO a majority of Pokemon who do not resist the attack. The other attacks are listed for coverage. Hidden Power Grass hits Swampert, Quagsire and other Pokemon with the Water Absorb ability, who could easily wall this set. Hidden Power Fire, on the other hand, enables Gorebyss to hit Ferrothorn and Abomasnow, two common switch-ins. As a small note, do not shy away from Hidden Power Fire if Gorebyss is used on a rain team, because the attack will still be super-effective against the two mentioned threats. Ice Beam allows Gorebyss to punish pHazers such as Roar Latias and Dragon Tail Salamence. The move also hits Grass-type Pokemon if Hidden Power Grass is selected.

[Additional Comments]

The EVs for this set are straightforward. 252 EVs in Speed enables Gorebyss to outspeed Pokemon with a base speed of 150, even with a speed-boosting nature, after a Shell Break, and every single non-boosted Pokemon under the rain. Meanwhile, a maximum Special Attack combined with a Modest nature allows her to hit hard. An alternative spread of 224 HP / 252 SpA / 32 Spe may be used under the rain to outspeed Pokemon Y and have some bulk. It may seem odd that Surf is listed on this set wheras Hydro Pump is not. However, given Hydro Pump's shaky 80% accuracy and Gorebyss's defense drops, it is best to play it safe with Surf.

If used on a rain team, two to three Pokemon who can manually summon rain are required. Good candidates who can get this job done easily are Jirachi, Bronzong, Magnezone, Thundurus and Tornundus (who's Prankster abilities gives Rain Dance a +1 priority), Zapdos and Scizor. Jirachi and Scizor can also easily beat Tyranitar and Obamasnow, two major threats to rain teams. Thunder Wave support is appreciated, as Gorebyss is still in danger of being outsped by Pokemon weilding a Choice Scarf. Celebi and Jirachi are some good options, as they also have defensive synergy with Gorebyss. Speaking about synergy, it is wise to pair Gorebyss up with Grass-type Pokemon who resist her weaknesses to Electric- and Grass-type moves. Ferrothorn can lay down entry hazards, threaten opposing bulky waters with Power Whip and support Gorebyss with Leech Seed.

Priority users are a huge threat to Gorebyss. Scizor and Conkeldurr, for example, can easily take down a weakened Gorebyss after she suffers from Life Orb recoil and possible entry hazard damage. Gliscor can take out Conkeldurr and can survive Scizor's assaults. As a bonus, it can easily switch into Electric-typed attacks aimed at Gorebyss for free. Prankster Pokemon can cripple Gorebyss with their priority Taunt and status moves. Luckily, Scizor can take on these menaces with Bullet Punch. Opposing Water-types can be a problem if Gorebyss does not choose to run Hidden Power Grass. Quagsire, Vaporeon and Jellicient in particular can easily wall her. A Grass-type of your own, such as Virizion or Ferrothorn, can set up on these Pokemon.

[SET]

name: Shell Break Passer
move 1: Shell Break
move 2: Baton Pass
move 3: Surf
move 4: Ice Beam / Hidden Power Grass / Hidden Power Fire
item: White Herb
nature: Calm
evs: 252 HP / 24 SpD / 232 Spe

[Set Comments]

Gorebyss is one of three Pokemon who can pass a Shell Smash boost to another Pokemon, meaning that you can have an abolute monster with +2 in Attack, Special Attack and Speed. However, Shell Smash also lowers both defensive stats by 1, and since this makes Gorebyss rely heavily on White Herb, you usually have only one chance of getting it right. Ideally, Gorebyss should be brought into a Pokemon who can barely threaten her, such as a Starmie locked into Ice Beam. Dual Screen support is also highly recommended to ensure that Gorebyss can survive attacks. From there, Gorebyss should use Shell Smash, and depending on the situation, use Baton Pass or attack directly. Surf is listed as a powerful and reliable STAB move. Ice Beam and the Hidden Powers provide coverage for her. Ice Beam nails any Grass and Dragon-type Pokemon who happen to switch in. It also allows her to deal with pHazers such as Roar Latias and Dragon Tail Gyarados. Hidden Power Grass ensures that Water-type Pokemon do not wall Gorebyss, and Hidden Power Fire demolishes Ferrothorn and Abomasnow, two common switch-ins.

[Additional Comments]

232 EVs in Speed allows Gorebyss to outspeed base 130 Pokemon, such as Jolteon and Aerodactyl, even with a positive nature. This is important as it is vital to keep Gorebyss in good health. Maximum HP and 24 Special Defense EVs allows her to take hits better, especially since Gorebyss has a nice base Defense stat. White Herb is a must-have item for her, as it negates both defense drops caused by Shell Smash. Substitute is a viable option for the fourth moveslot, as many of her checks and counters attempt to cripple either her or her receiver with status effects. By using Substitute against these moves, you not only have saved one of your Pokemon from being crippled, you now also have a Substitute to pass on along with the Shell Smash boost. Safeguard works on a similar level, although it may be best to have another Pokemon use it instead.

The recipient should not be just any random Pokemon. There are certain qualities a Pokemon must possess in order to be a good receiver. First of all, a good receiver should be able to handle priority moves, either by possessing bulk or being able to use its own priority attacks (or a combination of both). One example of this is Metagross. Metagross's Steel / Psychic typing is a wonderful typing that enables it to shrug off many different types of attacks, and has great bulk. Metagross can also use Bullet Punch, its own priority attack. Garchomp is another example, as it is bulkier than Swampert and only fears the somewhat-rare Ice Shard. As a bonus, Garchomp is immune to Thunder Wave, an attack that many Pokemon attempt to use on Gorebyss to cripple her. Another quality a good recipient should have is the ability to destroy common walls such, as Ferrothorn, Jellicent, Skarmory and Blissey. Infernape and Landorus both are excellent mixed wallbreakers, and can easily destroy walls after a Shell Smash. These two Pokemon can also outspeed a +2 Excadrill as well after a boost.

Gorebyss loathes priority attacks, even behind screens. For example, Conkeldurr running a specially defensive spread can set up on her as she uses Shell Smash, and deal heavy damage with Drain Punch + Mach Punch. A strong special attacker, such as Calm Mind Reuniclus, can easily defeat the menace. Prankster Pokemon, such as Thundurus, Tornundus, (comma) and Whimsicott are also problems, as they can Taunt Gorebyss before she sets up or cripple her with status moves. Magic Bounce Espeon and Xatu can easily reflect their attacks back at them, and on top of that, set up both Light Screen and Reflect. Phazers also pose a problem, as they can easily remove the boost in a single turn. Calm Mind + Roar Latias, a common phazer, can be brought down by very powerful physical attacks, such as repeated Crunches from CB Tyranitar. RestTalk Gyarados, another common phazer, is easily dented by Electric-type attacks, such as those from Rotom-W.

[Other Options]

Gorebyss does not have too many alternate options. She can use Psychic and Shadow Ball, but a STAB, and often rain-boosted, Surf will usually deal more damage. Confuse Ray is always a fun option, but Gorebyss is usually strapped for moves Hydro Pump may be used for raw power, but it is extremely risky to use considering the defense drops granted by Shell Smash. Even the Baton Pass set should be wary of using Hydro Pump, as one missed attack can ruin your team's chances of sucess. Speaking of Baton Pass, Gorebyss has several other options she can pass, such as Aqua Ring, Agility, Iron Defense and Amnesia. Amnesia deserves a special mention, as it patches up her less-than-average Special Defense stat. Finally, Gorebyss can manually summon rain on rain teams, but there are other Pokemon who can do this more easily.

[Checks & Counters]

Although rain support is not required for any Gorebyss attempting to use Shell Smash for sweeping, removing it makes taking her down much more easier. Ninetales can easily switch in and not even flinch with her stellar 100 base Special Defense, not to mention her neutrality to Water-type attacks due to Drought, and threaten Gorebyss with either Energy Ball or Solarbeam. Abomasnow has to be wary of Hidden Power Fire, but like Ninetales, it easily can smash Gorebyss with STAB Wood Hammer. Tyranitar absolutely hates Surf, but can easily prey on her -1 defensive stats. Hippowdon should avoid switching to Gorebyss altogether, but can come in on a less threatening Pokemon and remove the rain.

Gorebyss will always have a perfect counter, depending on which Hidden Power she chooses to run. If Hidden Power Grass is chosen, then Ferrothorn can easily switch in, and proceed to set up Spikes, Thunder Wave her (or, if Gorebyss is running the Baton Pass set, Thunder Wave the reciever) or outright attack with Power Whip. If running Hidden Power Fire, Water Absorb Pokemon such as Quagsire and Vaporeon can wall it. Speaking of wall, Evolution Stone Chansey can sponge Gorebyss's attacks and cripple her with Thunder Wave or Toxic. However, great care must be taken if Gorebyss is on a rain team, as a +2 LO and rain-boosted Surf can 2HKO Chansey after Stealth Rock damage. Pokemon with the Prankster ability, such as Whimsicott and Thundurus, can cripple Gorebyss with their priority status attacks or prevent her from using Shell Smash with Taunt.

[Dream World]

Gorebyss's Dream World ability is Hydration, curing her of status effects. This is very useful in conjunction with Drizzle Politoed, since she can bypass the Drizzle + Swift Swim combination ban. However, the loss of Speed may be noticable, so more team support may be needed.

I use this Pokemon so much its not funny but I am suggesting very very strongly and urge the QC members to think about slashing Life Orb with Lum Berry on the first set. Anyone who seen me ladder knows how important Lum berry is especially as after you get a Shell Smash or two, Blissey / Chansey switches in and when you are about to 2HKO it it will just Thunder Wave you. I don't mind Life Orb being the primary slash even though it should not be but I urge everyone to consider Lum berry before this gets GPed.

Lum Berry is a really good idea and I'll slash that in. In fact, I also mentioned the possibility of Baton Pass recipients holding Lum Berry (for the second set), as many Pokemon try to cripple those receivers with WilloWisp/Thunder Wave to prevent a sweep. On the same note, should the order of the sets be switched around? To my understanding, BP Gorebyss is far more commonly used than the rain sweeper.

Also consider the possibility that Paralysis users would attempt to paralyze the recipient after the second Shell Smash, so Lum Berry usage on the Recipient would be good nevertheless.

Not an official GP check.

EDIT: I missed an instance where you used Shell Break. Please correct it, it is in green.

Slight nitpick: I'd like to see Shell Smash listed as the first set in this analysis, especially because it's Gorebyss's most common and more importantly, most effective set.

Additionally, Substitute needs to be an option on the Shell Smash Pass set. Breaking Gorebyss's Substitutes isn't an easy task either with screens in play, and passing a Substitute to one of your sweepers is amazingly useful. Substitute also helps Gorebyss dodge pesky status, avoid Trick attempts, and just makes it easier to set-up in certain, so it definitely deserves to be an option imo. I'd just do this:

name: Shell Smash Passer
move 1: Shell Smash
move 2: Baton Pass
move 3: Surf
move 4: Substitute / Ice Beam
item: White Herb
nature: Calm
evs: 252 HP / 24 SpD / 232 Spe

The Hidden Powers can be mentioned in AC I suppose. I'd also slash Bold as a nature option alongside Calm.

Note: Quagsire isn't necessarily immune to Hydro Pump or Surf, and even with Unaware, he really can't take more than one Hydro Pump by himself. I think other Water Absorbers and Gastrodon should fit in this category, Quagsire removed.

Alright, the order of the sets have been switched and the SmashPass set has been altered a bit. Quagsire has been removed.

Wouldn't Azumarill be a great receiver of Gorebyss' Shell Smash on rain teams? Not only does it hit hard, but its main problem has always been speed and raising that plus its already monstrous attack and with its decent bulk may be a good idea.

It depends on preference, really. Any good recipient can be a recipient.

Also, Gorebyss can't be used with Drizzle if it has Swift Swim.

Looks good. You have odd color=black tags before every line, so get rid of that. If you need to, quote my check for an easy way to do it.

[COMMENT: Should these be slashed in the moveset then? Or are you confusing it with the next set?]

Dual Sscreen support is appreciated, as it allows Gorebyss and her receiver to take hits easily. Deoxys-S proudly claims itself to be the fastest Pokemon in the entire game to set up the screens, and should be considered as a teammate to set up the screens. Latios has decent defensive synergy with Gorebyss and can also use Memento, effectively leaving the foe with -6 Attack and Special Attack with screens set up. If offensively-oriented Pokemon are not desirable, some defensive options include Jirachi, Uxie (who, once again, can use Memento to your team's advantage), and Bronzong. It is recommended to have at least two dual screeners on a team with Shell Smash + Baton Pass Gorebyss.

The recipient of the boost should not be just any random Pokemon. There are certain qualities a Pokemon must possess in order to be a good receiver. First of all, a good receiver should be able to handle priority moves, either by possessing bulk or by being able to use its own priority attacks (or a combination of both). One example of this is Metagross; Metagross'its Steel / Psychic typing is a wonderful typing that enables it to shrug off many different types of attacks, and it has great bulk. Metagross can also use Bullet Punch, its own priority attack. Garchomp is another example of a good receiver, as it is very bulky and only fears the somewhat-rare Ice Shard after a boost in Speed. As a bonus, Garchomp is immune to Thunder Wave, an attack that many Pokemon attempt to use on Gorebyss to cripple her. Another quality a goodthe recipient should have is the ability to destroy common walls, such, as Ferrothorn, Jellicent, Skarmory, and Blissey. Both Infernape and Landorus both are excellent mixed wallbreakers, and can easily destroy walls after a Shell Smash. These two Pokemon can also outspeed a +2 Excadrill after a boost. On a final note, having recipients hold Lum Berry is a good idea, as many Pokemon will attempt to cripple the recipient willth status moves in order to prevent their sweep.

Gorebyss loathes priority attacks, even when behind screens. For example, Conkeldurr, running a specially defensive spread, can set up on her as she uses Shell Smash, and deal heavy damage with Drain Punch + Mach Punch. A strong special attacker, such as Calm Mind Reuniclus, can easily defeat the menace. Prankster Pokemon, such as Thundurus, Tornunadus, and Whimsicott, are also problems, as they can Taunt Gorebyss before she sets up or cripple her with status moves. Magic Bounce Espeon and Xatu can easily counter them by reflecting their attacks back at them, and on top of that, set up dual screens. Phazers also pose a problem, as they can easily remove the boost in a single turn. Calm Mind + Roar Latias, a common phazer, can be brought down by very powerful physical attacks, such as repeated Crunches from CBhoice Band Tyranitar. RestTalk Gyarados, another common phazer, is easily dented by Electric-type attacks, such as those from Rotom-W.

move 4: Ice Beam
item: Life Orb / Lum Berry
ability: Swift Swim
nature: Modest
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[Set Comments]

With a single Shell Smash, Gorebyss obtains a +2 boost for its Attack, Special Attack, and Speed stats, making it a formidable threat. Thise ability to double its offensive stats makes it a great sweeper under thein rain (although rain is not required). However, Shell Smash also comes at the cost of lowering both of Gorebyss's defenses by one stage, making her vulnerable to priority. For these reasons, Gorebyss is best used as a late-game sweeper, when all dangerous threats have been taken care of.

Surf, combined with a Shell Smash boost, can easily OHKO or 2HKO the majority of Pokemon who do not resist the attack. The other attacks are listed for coverage. Hidden Power Grass hits Swampert, Quagsire and other Pokemon which are immune to Water-type attacks, who could easily wall this set [COMMENT: Swampert is not immune to Water-type attacks. Perhaps you meant Jellicent?]. Hidden Power Fire, on the other hand, enables Gorebyss to hit Ferrothorn and Abomasnow, two common switch-ins. As a small note, do not shy away from using Hidden Power Fire if Gorebyss is used on a rain team, because the attack will still be super-effective against the two mentioned threats. Ice Beam allows Gorebyss to punish pHhazers such as Roar Latias and Dragon Tail Salamence. The move also hits Grass-type Pokemon if Hidden Power Grass is selected.

[Additional Comments]

The EVs for this set are straightforward. 252 EVs in Speed EVs enables Gorebyss to outspeed Pokemon with a base Speed of 150, even with a speed-boosting nature, after a Shell Smash, and every single. This includes every non-boosted Pokemon under thein rain. Meanwhile, a maximum Special Attack, combined with a Modest nature, allows her to hit hard. An alternative spread of 224 HP / 252 SpA / 32 Spe can be used for some more bulk. It may seem odd that Surf is listed on this set whereasinstead of Hydro Pump is not. However, given Hydro Pump's shaky 80% accuracy and Gorebyss'sthe defense drops provided by Shell Smash, it is best to play it safe with Surf. Life Orb gives Gorebyss raw power and enables her to net several important OHKOs and 2HKOs [COMMENT: Such as…?]. However, Pokemon who aren't immediately OHKO'd by Gorebyss, such as Chansey, can switch in and cripple her with status. For this reason, Lum Berry can be used as anis a potential alternative.

If used on a rain team, two to three Pokemon who can manually summon rain are required, as Gorebyss's ability prevents running Politoed alongside it. Good candidates who can get this job done easily are Jirachi, Bronzong, Magnezone, Thundurus and Tornunadus (who'sse Prankster abilities gives Rain Dance a +1 priority), Zapdos, and Scizor. Jirachi and Scizor can also easily beat Tyranitar and Abomasnow, two major threats to rain teams. Thunder Wave support is appreciated, as Gorebyss is still in danger of being outsped by Pokemon wielding a Choice Scarf. Celebi and Jirachi are some good options, as they also have defensive synergy with Gorebyss. Speaking of synergy, it is wise to pair Gorebyss up with Grass-type Pokemon who resist her weaknesses to Electric-, and Grass-type moves. Ferrothorn can lay down entry hazards, threaten opposing bulky waters with Power Whip, and support Gorebyss with Leech Seed.

Quagsire, Vaporeon, and Jellicient in particular can easily wall her. A Grass-type of your own, such as Virizion or Ferrothorn, can set up on these Pokemon.

[Other Options]

Gorebyss does not have too many alternate options. She can use Psychic and Shadow Ball, but a STAB, and often rain-boosted, Surf will usually deal more damage. Confuse Ray is always a fun option, but Gorebyss is usually strapped for moves. Hydro Pump may be used for raw power, but it is extremely risky to use, considering the defense drops granted by Shell Smash. Gorebyss has several other options she can pass along with or in place of Shell Smash, such as Aqua Ring, Agility, Iron Defense, and Amnesia. Amnesia deserves a special mention, as it patches up her less-than-average Special Defense stat. Finally, Gorebyss can manually summon rain on rain teams, but there are other Pokemon who can do this more easily.

[Checks & Counters]

Although rain support is not required for any Gorebyss attempting to use Shell Smash for sweeping, removing it makes taking her down much easier.

If Hidden Power Grass is chosen, then Ferrothorn can easily switch in, and proceed to set up Spikes, Thunder Wave her (or, if Gorebyss is running the Baton Pass set, Thunder Wave the reciever), or outright attack with Power Whip. If running Hidden Power Fire, Pokemon who are immune to Water-type attacks, such as Gastrodon and Vaporeon, can wall it. Speaking of walling, Blissey and Eviolution Stonite Chansey can sponge Gorebyss's attacks and cripple her with Thunder Wave or Toxic. However, great care must be taken if Gorebyss is on a rain team, as a +2 LOife Orb and rain-boosted Surf can 2HKO Chansey after Stealth Rock damage. Pokemon with the Prankster ability, such as Whimsicott and Thundurus, can also cripple Gorebyss with their priority status attacks or prevent her from using Shell Smash with Taunt.

[Dream World]

Gorebyss's Dream World ability is Hydration, curing her of status effects. This is very useful in conjunction with Drizzle Politoed, since she can bypass the Drizzle + Swift Swim combination ban. However, the loss of Speed may be noticeable, so more team support may be needed.

[Overview]

Do not be fooled by Gorebyss's docile appearance. Access to Shell Smash, one of the best set-up moves in the entire game, makes her quite a threat to deal with, especially in the rain. As if that weren't enough, Gorebyss can also support her team by Baton Passing this boost, turning the reciever into an to absolute monsters. monster. However, she does have a few flaws, such as low HP, low poor Special Defense, and a heavy reliance on White Herb. Nevertheless, Gorebyss is a surprising and nasty threat that every team should be prepared for.

[Set Comments]

Gorebyss is one of three Pokemon who can pass a Shell Smash boost to another
team member, meaning that you can have a Pokemon with +2 in Attack, Special Attack, and Speed. However, Shell Smash also lowers both defensive stats by 1, and because this makes Gorebyss rely heavily on White Herb, you usually have only one chance of getting it right. Ideally, Gorebyss should be brought in against a Pokemon who can barely threaten her, such as a Starmie locked into Ice Beam. Dual screen support is also highly recommended to ensure that Gorebyss can survive attacks. (this doesnt belong here; it goes in additional comments) From there, Gorebyss should use Shell Smash, and depending on the situation, use Baton Pass or attack directly. Surf is listed as a powerful and reliable STAB move. Ice Beam provide coverage for her. (ice beams already mentioned further down in this para so it neednt be here too) Substitute is essential to this set because it protects Gorebyss from status and keeps her healthy. Passing on an intact Substitute to a receiver is also a bonus. Alternatively, you may want to use Ice Beam to nail any Grass- or Dragon-type Pokemon who happen to switch in. Ice Beam also allows her Gorebyss to deal with phazers such as Roar Latias, Latias and Dragon Tail Gyarados.

[Additional Comments]

After a boost, 232 Speed EVs allow Gorebyss to outspeed base 130 Pokemon, such as Jolteon and Aerodactyl, even with a positive nature. Maximum HP and 24 Special Defense EVs allow her Gorebyss to take hits better, especially as Gorebyss she has a nice base Defense stat. White Herb is a must-have item, for her, as it negates both defense drops caused by Shell Smash. For the fourth slot, if Substitute or Ice Beam are is not required, Gorebyss may wish to run Hidden Power Grass or Fire in order to defeat some common checks and counters. Hidden Power Grass ensures that Water-type Pokemon do not wall Gorebyss, and Hidden Power Fire demolishes Ferrothorn and Abomasnow, two common switch-ins.

Not to be rude, but...what is the point of this exactly? The regular set seems much more plausible; shell smash completely outclasses agility, and gorebyss isnt really suited to pass off defensive boosts, there's better pokemon for that. And with no attacks, taunt will completely shut u down, especially taunt from pokemon such as Prankster Thundurus.

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure. I saw a video of a baton pass Rattata sweep on Youtube with a Gorebyss with Iron Defense, Amnesia, Agility, and Baton Pass. Then when I posted that I didn't know that most sweeper only need a +2 speed boost to outspeed almost everything. That is why I added Shell Smash and I added Barrior because it's exactly the same as Iron defense except Barrior has 30 PP and Iron Defense only has 15 PP. However, you have to breed to get Barrior while you get Iron Defense from leveling a Clamperl up.
