God damn, Mega Man Legends 3 is canceled.

I haven't been following this game as I've never played the other Legends games, but this seems like a pretty big slap in the face to fans, and right after operation rainfall too...

3DS keeps looking less and less attractive as well.

I think you should go play the Zero series and MM9 and 10. Then tell me the franchise should have died. They're not the best games ever, but they're fun, solid games.

i'm not going to call the Zero series bad. hell i'm not even going to call the ZX series bad. but if you don't think they're milking the series a bit then i don't know what series you've been playing. the point wasn't the quality of the games, it's the fact that they've continued to make contrived mini series after mini series.

and i mean come on. Inafune's gone. Megaman Universe was cancelled. now Legends 3 has been cancelled. maybe i'm just reading too much into it but seems to me the last couple of years Megaman's been on a downward slope.

it's about time they just let the series fade away.

The bolded is the only time I think a franchise should be laid to rest. The games are still decent, so I don't care if there are a million of them.

Side note: fuck you Other M

Since people are starting to think that Capcom is going to shit because of this, I'm guessing that those game designers are going to have to stop the Marvel VS Capcom Series soon, as at this time, it seems that Marvel is winning...

Really? Did you read Siege?

Capcom made Dead Rising 2 last year so I can't throw up my hands and shout for the end just yet. But seriously as fuck localize my AA fix.

I don't necessarily think the company is going under, but I think they've had a bit of a bad streak. They even seem to be dropping the ball a bit with some of the games that they've already released. For example, when on Earth are they even going to announce more DLC for MvC3? We got some costumes and 2 characters. There's still what seems to be two empty squares on the character select screen. A fair number of people (myself included) thought the game roster was lacking, especially when compared to MvC2. The fact that they haven't at least confirmed something about more DLC is a bit annoying. Other than that, there's a few games that weren't localized that would have sold fairly well here. Now, they go and cancel a Megaman game. Just by having the name Megaman on it, it would probably sell. Not to mention it's a Legends game, so all the old Legends fans would buy it. I think Capcom has something against making money.

Legends was never successful.

I don't like MvC3 but that was released this year, and Capcom has been awesome forever. It is way early to say the company is going downhill. This shit ain't SquareEnix.

They claim that the demand to have megaman in the game wasn't high enough, and yet according to the IGN article the DLC polls had him at #1. None of this makes any sense at all. This is going to seriously hurt their profits. It was extremely foolish to not include megaman.

On a different note, if any SNES games should be remade for 3DS, they should remake Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars.

I thought that it was an IGN article, but it's actually from a blog. Sorry about the mistake.

Leave it to Capcom to cancel a game and then blame their fans for it.

This after hearing about no MH3rd or AAI2 coming to America just disheartens me...
Also, no Megaman in MvCU? WTF CAPCOM!?

It took people years to realize that Square wasn't coming back.

Now in a week everyone thinks Capcom is dead. The company that released two of the greatest games ever made last year.

It's not dead, per se, just slowly losing its fans. Although, any company that insults it's consumer base doesn't maintain itself for too long if it doesn't apologize/retract its action.
See FFXIV, for example...

FFXIV still sucks even after they extended the game's initial paid time twice. But that's a company that's been sucking for 10 years now. Capcom just started doing questionable things, one of which wasn't canceling Legends 3 (who wanted to make it with Inafune gone?). I'm only ticked off that they are shuffling their feet when it comes to AA2, I really like Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and it's already made a buyer out of someone who skipped the first game.

I didn't buy the first MvC yet, either. Something told me a new one would just come out in a year or so, anyways. Good thing I was right (wrong about how long Capcom was willing to wait, though.)
I can say that I actually do plan on getting UMvC3, along with AAI2 and MH3rd if they ever come out.

*Sigh* I really wanted a Mega Man game to come out this year.

I mean I've been waiting for Mega Man Universe to come out, but its been cancelled.

Now MML3?

They might as well just release a Mega Man 11 with NES graphics again..

i wasn't all that shocked between the 2011 EQ and inafune leaving i felt it would be a wonder if it did get released
