[OVERVIEW]

Despite Gigalith's better bulk and higher Attack stat along with a solid ability in Sturdy, it is completely outclassed by Golem due to Golem's higher Speed, secondary Ground typing giving it an immunity to Electric-type attacks, and ability to perform the same role Gigalith can, but better. Gigalith's high Defense lets it act as a decent check to Normal- and Flying-types such as Dodrio and Stoutland, but is outclassed by Carracosta in this regard. Furthermore, Gigalith's pure Rock typing gives it weaknesses to common attacking types such as Water, Ground, and Grass. Its horrendous Speed lets it get easily worn down by faster and stronger threats such as Simisage and Carracosta.

[SET]
name: Tank
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Stone Edge / Rock Blast
move 3: Superpower
move 4: Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Sturdy
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Stealth Rock benefits all teams, as it wears down foes switching in while also breaking Focus Sash and Sturdy. Stone Edge is Gigalith's Rock-type STAB attack, allowing it to hit Fire- and Flying-types such as Rapidash and Dodrio. Rock Blast can be used over Stone Edge to break Substitutes and Focus Sash from Pokemon such as Kadabra, and has a more reliable accuracy but it is generally weaker than Stone Edge. Superpower hits Steel-types such as Pawniard and Probopass, which resist Rock Blast, as well as nailing Rock-types such as Carracosta and Barbaracl, and Piloswine harder, at the expense of lowering Gigalith's Attack and Defense. Toxic wears down common switch-ins to Gigalith such as Torterra and Tangela.

Set Details
========

Running 252 EVs in HP maximizes Gigalith's bulk. Maximum investment in Attack allows Gigalith to deal out the most damage possible. Sturdy is the preferred ability, as it lets Gigalith take one hit at full HP. Leftovers is the preferred item, as it gives Gigalith passive recovery to take hits longer.

Usage Tips
========

Keep Gigalith healthy, as its bulk allows it to better check Pokemon such as Dodrio and Stoutland; keep in mind that it is easily worn down due to a lack of recovery. Though it doesn't have to be used as a lead, Gigalith can be used early in the game, as its main priority is to set up Stealth Rock. Be mindful of faster Taunt users such as Misdreavus, which can easily take advantage of Gigalith's low Speed to prevent it from setting up Stealth Rock.

Team Options
========

Spikes support from Pokemon such as Roselia and Quilladin complements Gigalith's Stealth Rock support to keep pressure on the opponent's team. Ghost-types such as Misdreavus and Gourgeist-XL can block Rapid Spin to keep Stealth Rock on the opponent's side of the field. Defiant users such as Pawniard and Purugly deters foes from using Defog to clear the field of Stealth Rock. Wallbreakers and setup sweepers such as Ursaring and Ninetales appreciate Gigalith's Stealth Rock support to aid them in wearing down their checks and counters. Grass-types such as Tangela and Sawsbuck can handle Water- and Ground-types, while Fire-types such as Rapidash and Simisear can take care of Grass- and Steel-types for Gigalith.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Earthquake provides solid coverage alongside Rock Blast, hitting Steel-types such as Probopass and Pawniard without having to incur the Attack and Defense drop from Superpower. Custap Berry in conjunction with Explosion and Sturdy allows Gigalith to act as a suicide lead, but this is better done by Golem. Choice Band lets Gigalith act as a bulky attacker, dealing out massive damage at the expense of being locked into a move. A physically defensive spread of 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def with an Impish nature can be used to better check Pokemon such as Ursaring. While Gigalith might seem like an ideal Pokemon to run Assault Vest on, it isn't worth the extra bulk, as it forces Gigalith to forgo Stealth Rock and Toxic, which it needs because its attacking movepool is lackluster; besides, Gigalith is easily worn down without Leftovers.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Grass-types**: Grass-types such as Tangela and Gourgeist can take a Stone Edge with ease; additionally, the former can put Gigalith to sleep with Sleep Powder or force it out with Giga Drain, while the latter can cripple Gigalith with Will-O-Wisp or heal off any damage taken with Synthesis.

**Bulky Water-types**: Water-types such as Poliwrath and Simipour can break through Gigalith without much trouble, with the former being able to switch in and scare it out with any of its STAB attacks, whereas the latter cannot switch in, but can easily OHKO Gigalith.

**Ground-types**: Ground-types such as Torterra and Stunfisk resist Rock Blast and can retaliate with Earthquake and Earth Power, respectively. The former can also carry Bullet Seed to break Gigalith's Sturdy.

**Anti-leads**: Gigalith is extremely slow, so any user of Taunt can prevent Gigalith from setting up Stealth Rock. Examples of this include Misdreavus and Grumpig. Pokemon that can break its Sturdy such as Bullet Seed Torterra can also prevent it from being effective.

**Status**: Being burned severely cripples Gigalith, lowering its Attack and breaking its Sturdy.

Moving this into QC. I know UT needs to be beefed up, I'll add when I have time.

i cant give it a full check rn but im just gonna say that in the overview you are presenting it as better than it is. Like clearly mention that it is completely outclassed and say stuff like 'despite its higher bulk + attack golem completely outclasses bc higher speed + ground stab'

Superpower>eq since it has better coverage and power (and does a buttload to Piloswine)

You can mention that torterra bullet set ohkos golem but not this as a niche and that it does marginally better against Piloswine too but that's about it

Yeah, as a gen six tutor move.

Edit: oops 1k wooooo. I've been here six goddamn years and my 1k is an unrelated comment on a PU gigalith analysis. xD

Mention Golem also has a glue in its Ground-typing, which Gigalith lacks.
mention that Golem can run a bigger variety of sets, while Gigalith can only act as a custap lead.

sr also break sash and sturdy.

Usage Tips
========
mention that Gigalith is preferred to be used as a lead because sturdy will be mostly be broken later into the match and having sr up early is nice.
in fact, mention that Gigalith's main priority is setting up Stealth Rock.
mention that when against substitute or focus sash users such as kadabra Gigalith should use Rock Blast.
mention that it should be wary about faster taunt users, especially missy as it is also immune to Explosion.

Team Options
========
mention that Gigalith fits mostly on bulkier offensive teams or balanced ones as it is completely outclassed by golem on hyper offense.
mention spikes/toxic spikes users to keep up the pressure, as they also have a good synergy with common teammates such as defiant/spinblockers.
cleaners and sweepers in general also appreciate sr support, mention some.
mention Pokemon that can help Gigalith deal with bulky Steel-types such as Probopass and Klang.

Checks and Counters
===================
add bulky steel-types, probopass has a 4x resist to explosion and takes pitiful dmg from rock blast while it can easily KO Gigalith w Flash Cannon. Klang also takes not much dmg and can recover explosion damage with rest.

change the categories of typings into bulky grass-types and bulky water-types

mention pokemon that can inflict burn, also remove poison gigalith doesnt really care about it

evs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Speed ; even though gigalith isnt rocks weak its always best to have an odd hp number and 8 speed allows you to outspeed other non-existant gigalith

8 Speed counts as speed creep which isnt allowed in analysis and an odd hp number is pointless for a dedicated lead

I still think the overview is too positive, as although the stuff you said is true, it presents gigalith as having a niche/being worth using. You can say something like 'Despite its (positive trait), it is still outclassed by Golem because...'

I dont really get what the set is trying to do. Like custap + explode is a lead thing but then you talk about checking normal and flying types (also custap + max hp is sorta counter productive). If you are trying to make the set a 'tank' set it would be better of using leftovers bc custap is unreliable for a non lead(/non swalot).

in UT i dont think it is worth saying the focus sash part as kadabra is the only example and you say in moves that it can break subs (also dont mention drifblim in an analysis)

'Gigalith fits best on balanced and bulky offensive teams as it is outclassed by Golem on Hyper Offense teams.' - i really dont understand this because not only did you said it is completely outclassed in the overview (which it is), but also that its no better on balanced/bulky offensive teams than golem (also whats balance doing with a custap mon)
Also i dont think type synergy is important for TO of a suicide lead

It cant outspeed shit at +2 and is just outclassed by costa/etc so pls remove autotomize from oo

in oo just change taunt to anti leads and list stuff like bullet seed torterra

Alright I made the changes. Overview is condensed as some of the points I made could easily be combined. Also changed the set to Leftovers over Custap Berry and Custap Berry has been moved to OO.

Analysis has been written and is ready for a final check.

say that costa outclasses this too in a tank role

slash stone edge with rock blast. i'd even make it the first slash but it's up to you as i dislike rock blast a lot more than most people. this isn't a lead, so most of the stuff you want rock blast to beat are things you won't be facing anyway, and rock blast ends up doing a lot less damage than stone edge on average.

Despite Gigalith's having more better bulk and a higher Attack stat along with a solid ability in Sturdy, it is completely outclassed by Golem due to Golem's higher Speed, additional secondary Ground typing, which gives giving it an immunity to Electric-type attacks, and the ability to perform the same role Gigalith can, but better.

Moves
========

Stealth Rock benefits all teams, as it wears down foes switching in while also breaking Focus Sash and Sturdy. Stone Edge is Gigalith's Rock-type STAB attack, allowing it to hit Fire- and Flying-types such as Rapidash and Dodrio. Rock Blast can be used over Stone Edge to break Substitutes and Focus Sash from Pokemon such as Kadabra, but it is generally weaker than Stone Edge. Superpower hits Steel-types such as Pawniard and Probopass, (AC) which resist Rock Blast, as well as nailing Ice-types such as Aurorus and Piloswine harder, at the expense of lowering Gigalith's Attack and Defense. Toxic wears down common switch-ins to Gigalith such as Torterra and Tangela.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

Spikes support from Pokemon such as Roselia and Quilladin complement complements Gigalith's Stealth Rock support to keep pressure on the opponent's team. Ghost-types such as Midsreavus Misdreavus and Gourgeist-XL can block Rapid Spin to keep Stealth Rock on the opponent's side of the field.

Other Options
=============

===================

**Bulky Water-types**: Water-types such as Poliwrath and Pelipper can break through Gigalith with relative ease without much trouble, (less repetitive) with the former being able to scare it out with any of its STAB attacks, while the latter can Defog Gigalith's Stealth Rock away, heal off any damage taken from Stone Edge with Roost, or attempt to cripple Gigalith with Scald.
