Who needs gold when you got Gholdengo? It demonstrates it’s a true menace by disrupting common forms of hazard removal from foes such as Zapdos and Tornadus-T. Hex deals a 2HKO to potential switch-ins like Gliscor, using its ability against it. Focus Blast annihilates targets such as Kingambit and hits Ferrothorn for significant damage. Thunder Wave cripples faster Pokemon such as Ogerpon-W and Zamazenta. Ghostium Z is used to break through foes that cannot be affected by Thunder Wave, such as Landorus-T and Raging Bolt, while also granting it the ability to take Knock Off from Kingambit and Ogerpon-W better. The 100 Special Defense EVs allow Gholdengo to survive Shadow Ball from Choice Specs Dragapult. Additionally, the 60 Speed EVs allow it to outspeed Pokemon like Moltres and Landorus-T. Gholdengo can struggle in the face of foes like Mega Charizard Y and Pokemon immune to Thunder Wave such as Great Tusk, Landorus-T, and Raging Bolt, so teammates like Toxapex and Ferrothorn are appreciated to help deal with these Pokemon. In return, Gholdengo answers Psychic-types such as Tapu Lele and Mega Medicham for the former, and Fighting-types like Zamazenta and Iron Valiant for the latter.

The 100 Special defense Evs allow Gholdengo to survive Shadow Ball from Choice Specs Dragapult. Additionally, the 60 Speed Evs allow Gholdengo to outspeed uninvested base 90s Pokemon like Moltres and Landorus-T. Gholdengo can struggle in the face of faster foes like Dragapult so it appreciates Kingambit as a partner to Pursuit trap and remove it Mega Charizard Y and Pokemon immune to Thunder Wave such as Great Tusk, Landorus-T, and Raging Bolt, so teammates like Toxapex and Ferrothorn are appreciated to help deal with these Pokemon. In return, Gholdengo answers Fighting-Types like Zamazenta and Iron Valiant for Kingambit Psychic-types such as Tapu Lele and Mega Medicham for the former, and Fighting-types like Zamazenta and Iron Valiant for the latter. This Gholdengo set is also prone to getting Pursuit-trapped as it is forced into mindgames with opposing Kingambit so it appreciates the presence of Fighting-Types like Great Tusk and Zamazenta. this set is very good at not getting trapped tbh, you can sucker pretty easily if need be and ohko w blast, not to mention just hitting it on the switch

Gholdengo can struggle in the face of foes like (add space) Mega Charizard Y and Pokemon immune to Thunder Wave such as Great Tusk, Landorus-T, and Raging Bolt, so teammates like Toxapex and Ferrothorn are appreciated to help deal with these Pokemon. In return, Gholdengo answers Psychic-types such as Tapu Lele and Mega Medicham for the former, and Fighting-types like Zamazenta and Iron Valiant for the latter.
