Getting Magmortar and Electivire from PBR

In Battle Revolution, after completing the game, you are able to get a Surfing, Volt-Tackling Pikachu. Well, this is not the only Pokémon you can get off of Battle Revolution. You can also get a special Electivire & Magmortar, Pokémon that may be hard for you to get in Diamond & Pearl if you do not have previous games.

To get these Pokémon, it is a simple method. First, you will need to go in and go to edit your profile

From here, go into your Self-Introduction. This is where you will need to input your details normally for the start of battle

In there, you need to input a certain thing, one for Electivire and one for Magmortar. Unfortunately, I am currently unable to reveal to you the actual data required for input for you to do this, once I can, they will be here. Once they are in, save and exit the profile entry

Once the correct codes are entered in and saved, the lady at the desk shall note that you have entered in the secret password. She will go on to explain that you have unlocked the Gold or Silver Pass and that the Shocking or Heated Secrets have been added to the Mystery Gift shop for Electivire & Magmortar respectively.

Now go into the in-game shop and at the bottom of the list of items you will find the Heated Secret Gift or the Shocking Secret Gift depending on what you entered. They are at 0 PokéCoupons in price such as with Pikachu so you won't have to shell out any of your hard earned PokéCoupons.

Once you've selected them, the usual Mystery Gift sending procedure comes up. You can now send Electivire or Magmortar to Diamond & Pearl. You can only send it once to the game so be weary. Below are the movesets and other tidbits regarding Electivire & Magmortar:

Well, atleast the natures of the two were revealed. I was a bit worried that Electivire would be some crappy nature, but it's actually correct.

Now I just have to worry about the IV's and the code.

The natures were known along with the movesets, iirc.

I'd assume we can't hack the games code to find out the password for the same reason we couldn't hack into Ranger for the Manaphy mission password. Whatever that reason is though, I don't know about it x( This is pretty worthless to me though since I have both FR/LG and I already have a good Electivire. I don't really care about the Magmotar though, because it's Modest and doesn't have Cross Chop.

IVs should be random, just like Manaphy's and Surfing Pikachu's.

The movesets were known, but I don't think the natures were revealed. [edit: no, the natures were not revealed, at least not on Serebii]

I'm glad the Electivire may be usable since I haven't bothered to breed one, just have to hope I get one with good IVs.

http://serebii.net/archive/June-2007.shtml Entry is Tuesday the 19th. No natures shown.

I just want the Electivire to have a spare, and then the Magmortar for Dex data. That's practically their only use because of everybody and their mother already having one (no offense to those who don't have mothers)

Lol the Electivire is actually ready to be used after EV training and giving it a good item. I suppose the IVs aren't set in stone then?

Still, PBR seems hardly worth getting.

Is breeding egg moves onto Electivire really that difficult though? I did it and getting the egg moves onto the father was ridiculously easy, only thing I can see being hard is getting the better IVed parents (since you can't breed Elekid). Not saying to not use the PBR Electivire, but if you didn't already have PBR, this isn't really much of a reason to run out an get it.

Yeah, PBR is still horrible for $50. But for those of us who stupidly bought it, we can at least soft-reset for a good Electivire that's always Adamant. I guess Lonely might have been preferrable but oh well.

PBRs not a big waste...it is what is said it was going to be. Serebii just hyped it beyond all reason, to the point where EVERYONE thought you were going to be able to change every little detail about the trainers. It'll be nice to finally just have the info, though. The thread posting on Serebii for this stuff was CRAZY when he first announced it ^_^

Yeah, PBR is still horrible for $50.

Actually, I was able to get mine for less since Wal-Mart mispriced it for cheaper.

But yes, this info is quite good. My only complaint about this is that, as Familiar Trainer said, Magmotar is modest with no cross chop. And I have FR, not LG.

PBR[']s not a big waste.

Quoted for truth. I personally believe it's not a waste because of the animations, the customizations, and other things. If you're really, really into your Pokemon, like myself, it's a worthy buy as long as you remember it's really only meant for battling through with your Diamond Pokemon. Hell, to be honest I would have bought it just to be able to battle with Mewtwo in 3-D, but you guys know all too well about my Mewtwo fetish.

As an added note, I'm getting Electivire. Does it have any movesets that you aren't able to obtain other than by cheating, like Surfing Pikachu? Normally I wouldn't care, but I don't have an AR readily available.

At least with that Electivire, I don't have to spend FOREVER trying to catch some good Medicham and Machoke to get Cross Chop and Ice Punch onto Elekid...but i'm already betting it has somewhat weak DVs.

Also, I think PBR is certainly worth it, to battle in 3D and be able to get multiples of certain items like TMs and evolution items. I was excited about it since last summer.

...Has anyone found out the passwords yet?

freaktron, it's going to be near impossible to find a password before Serebii reveals it without hacking the game. Unless it's something like "Motor Drive", or something related to them, it'll probably be like Manaphy and a bunch of meaningless letters and numbers. Also, IVs are completely random, so it's harder than breeding in most cases, but it's not auto-crap. You can still get 31s and such, like with legendaries.

Arceus and anybody else, here is the info from Serebii's page:

Male Electivire @ Magnet
Adamant
Thunderpunch
Ice Punch
Cross Chop
Earthquake

! A good moveset? Impossible!

Female Magmortar @ Charcoal
Modest
Flamethrower
Psychic
Hyper Beam
Solar Beam

Now that's better. Modest isn't bad though. Obligatory HYPA BEAMA MAGMORTAR!!!!! comment.

Is it off topic to discuss the movesets on these two? I know people have on and off discounted or praised them but what's your personal opinion on these two? Truly battle ready or completely useless?

Unfortunately, people have already hacked the games code and apparently couldn't find a thing related to them ;_;

Electivire is battle-ready, the Magmortar is utter trash though.

Just a few stats I pulled up. Please, for the love of Arceus, don't quote this entire thing.

Magmortar Base Stats:
75 / 95 / 67 / 125 / 95 / 83

Electivire Base Stats:
75 / 123 / 67 / 95 / 85 / 95

Pros:
(Electivire)
- Higher Speed and Attack.
- STAB Physical Electric Attacks Off 123 Base.
- Motor Drive and Electric Immunity.

(Magmortar)
- Higher Special Defense and Special Attack.
- STAB Special Fire Attacks Off 125 Base, 2 More Than Electivire.
- Flame Body, 30% Chance of Burn When Hit By Physical Attacks.

Cons:
(Electivire)
- Weakness to Earthquake.
- Some OU Pokemon Immune to STAB.

(Magmortar)
- No Immunity.
- Weakness to Earthquake.
- Walled By Blissey.

... How did I do?

I wouldn't really use that Magmortar unless it packed a good HP Ice, since without it he really can't be a pure special sweeper. Its too bad he doesn't have Cross Chop.

Amazingly, Game Freak made that Electivire playable. Slap on an Expert Belt over the Magnet, EV train it and it's good to go. The Magmortar, as previously stated, is utter trash. This will be really convenient for me if I ever end up using Electivire, makes it a lot easier than breeding.

You can't soft reset for anything. Once you receive the gift that game save file can't receive another of the same gift.

Basically, you get one Electivire. If you don't like it there's nothing you can do about it unless you have multiple copies of D/P.

Has anyone gotten PBR to work with a D/P ROM on a flashcart? I've heard that the ROM just freezes if you try. You could go that way and keep resetting your save file for a good Electivire if it doesn't freeze.

I have a flashcart, but I haven't downloaded Diamond or Pearl. That's a slippery slope that would lead me to get PokeSav and then start hacking up pokes.

It'll probably work like PBR's Pikachu. You just have to save in front of the man and reset 'til you get a good one. Not only that, it comes at LV50 so the IVs should be fairly accurate.

Expanding on that it will probably work like most mystery gift in that you can save infront and SR as Firestorm said. Worked with Manaphy, PBRchu and iirc darkrai and deoxys.
