The Absence of Normal!

This Pet Mod aims to replace the Normal type completely, in a community project format. Thus meaning, every Normal type must have their types changed. There will be various phases which each allow different options to post.
  • Phase 1: Submissions
Every few days, I will post a few Normal type Pokemon and Moves below. Then, you will be able to aim to retype it in a format similar to this:
Pokemon: Dunsparce
New type: Bug/Ground
New moves: +X-Scissor, +Earthquake, +Attack Order
Justification: Dunsparce looks very Bug-like, and it's drill on it's tail seems more ground type as well.

Move: Retaliate
New type: Dark
Justification: Retaliation in general is bad thing to do, and the Dark type is known to be also known as an evil type.

Move: Crush Claw
New type: Same type as Zangoose
Justification: It is Zangoose's Signature Move.

Up to 3 new moves are allowed on a type-changed Pokemon.
However, a submission will not be accepted if it is like this:

The First Choice gets 3 points, second gets 2 and third gets 1. Obviously the userwith most votes gets his/her submission put into the project itself
  • Phase 3: Results
After the voting period, I will put up the results, and the people who win will have their submission put into the project itself.

New type: Dark
Justification: Just removing the Normal


Move: Stuff Cheeks
New type: Grass
Justification: It's stuffing the cheeks with berries

Move: Veevee Voley
New type: Whatever type Partner Eevee becomes after this slate ends
Justification: ...duh

Move: Court Change
New type: Fire
Justification: Signature move of a fire-type


Also since no normal moves will exist, it would be impossible to even use Max Strike, so idt we should bother with it
 
Alright, let's see here, I've got a couple of cents I can put in here...

Pokémon: Wooloo, Dubwool
New Type: Grass
New Moves: Rollout, Slam, Leech Seed
Justification: Cotton is pretty similar to Wool, I think? Cotton Spore is also a Grass move. Considered giving it Horn Leech before remembering Shield's dex says Dubwool doesn't fight with its horns.

Pokémon: Galarian Zigzagoon and Linoone, Obstagoon
New Type: Dark for Z/L, Dark/Fighting for O
New Moves: Sucker Punch
Justification: Changing Zigzagoon and Linoone to pure Dark basically keeps them the same. Obstagoon being Dark/Fighting just... it's hard to explain, but the more I look at the design and think about it, the more proper it feels, I guess?


Move: Court Change
New Type: Grass
Justification: Football/Soccer games (name depending on your region) usually take place on a grassy field. Cinderace is based on a player of said sport.

Move: Max Strike
New Type: Null
Justification: Breakneck Blitz was also a normal type move changed to Null. Honestly, it's probably more of "justification by how it was previously".

Pokémon: Wooloo, Dubwool
New Type: Steel
New Moves: Iron Head, Nuzzle, Fire Lash
Justification: Had to think outside the box a bit for this. I chose Steel-type under the concept of steel wool. Iron Head is to add another Steel-type move to their movepool, since some of the Normal-type moves they have are Steel-type here, Nuzzle is because you can make steel wool spark (and I guess you'd want to nuzzle wool or something lol), and Fire Lash because you can do cool stuff like this with steel wool. For the sake of coverage, let's pretend that Wooloo and Dubwool is able to do that with its own wool.

Move: Court Change
New Type: Fighting
Justification: Sports, on a court or not, are competitive against two team fighting to win. Also Cinderace is basically Fighting-type with its movepool, but Game Freak was scared to make another Fire / Fighting type starter.
 
Pokemon: Skwovet line
New type: Grass (Skwovet) -> Grass/Ground (Greedent)
New moves: +Earth Power, Bulldoze, Energy Ball
Justification: Grass is pretty obvious due to the relation to berries and berry trees and Ground because Greedent just looks like a Ground-type to me and also reminds me a lot of Diggersby, who also picked up a secondary Ground typing.

Move: Court Change
New type: Ground
Justification: In any sport that requires a court change between halves or games (Soccer, Football, Basketball, Tennis, etc.), it always changes which side of the ground you play on or work towards
 
Voting is open.
Fairy-type Partner Eevee wins by default, and so does Fairy-type Veevee Voley.
Null-type Max Strike wins by default.
Grass-type Stuffed Cheeks wins by default.

Justification: In a way, they’re cute, which is good enough for Gamefreak to make them Fairy-type. Also, numerous Fairy-type moves in their movepool yet they are not Fairy-type just isn’t right.

:Snorlax-gmax:
Pokemon: Snorlax-GMax
New type: Grass/Ground
New moves: Power Whip, Solar Blade, Leaf Blade
Justification: It’s just like Torterra, with a giant slab of land on top of it, which make sense for it to be Grass-Ground like Torterra.

Move: G-Max Replenish
New type: Grass
Justification: Growing, and replenishing, is always associated with plants.

Move: G-Max Cuddle
New type: Same type as Eevee
Justification: It is Eevee’s Signature Move.

Justification: You know that anime trope of characters literally catching on fire when they're angry? Basically that and your body does get hotter when you're angry

Justification: Fairy is basically the happy and cute type with moves like Baby-Doll Eyes, Charm, Play Rough, Decorate, and Sweet Kiss, so this just kinda works

New Type: Psychic/Dark
New Moves: Dark Pulse, Parting Shot, Nasty Plot
Justification: I'll be serious, Male Indeedee looks... significantly more creepy than the female counterpart, which is probably something to do with the face more than anything. Surely behind its face lies some sort of trickery in order to "act as a valet for those they serve" most effectively.

Move: Teatime
New Type: Water
Justification: You drink tea. But this might be a bit too literal with it...? Maybe? I guess it depends on your view of it.

Move: G-Max Gold Rush
New Type: Steel
Justification: Gold, coins, and the like are made of metals, right? This might rely on G-Max Meowth also being Steel type, which might admittedly tread on Galarian Meowth/Perrserker a little bit... But honestly, there's not really any other type this can be easily justified as.

Justification: Same as pay day - plus its really a 'confusing' type

Justification: tree lol, plus dark type to maintain the 'glutton' theme

Justification: Just removing the Normal-type.

Gigantamax Snorlax
New type: Psychic/Grass
Justification: Psychic because it's associated with sleep and regular is part Psychic, Grass because Gigantamax Snorlax has trees growing on it. It got Dark last gen because of how menacicng Pulverizing Pancake sounded, but Z-Moves don't exist any more so...
