These look good, not getting Tri Attack by levelup is a good removal, however Stomp and Sand Attack are too relevant of moves to just give it as flavor. Flavorwise, Doduo gets Agility as its last move, so maybe move it down the list to level 50 or so?

Well the lack of votes here is a bit rough so I guess I am the tiebreaker... the winner is coastergat, and Roaduo is complete!

That concludes Slate 3, and now we have a bit of a question on our hands - do we keep making more CAPs? Is there more to do here besides polish up the current ones and run some games and develop the tier? I actually am pretty happy with 3 slates and close things up, but I want to see where people's interest is at and their thoughts on where to go from here.
 
I fully fell out of love with RBY CAP with Roaduo and how it was handled, tbh.

The whole thing felt like a scam; it's not an actual RBY CAP project, instead being a random pet mod that used the name of RBY CAP to clickbait and gather interest when it really had no business carrying the name. It doesn't follow the filosophies of CAP, doesn't follow the CAP method it just, isn't CAP. My interest for it is fully gone as a result; I really don't care about it anymore.

It's just not what I signed up for.
Roaduo is the complete opposite direction of what CAP is; it now feels like any run of the mill fakemon pet mod rather than, well, CAP.
CAP is about the competitive side of things, exploring the niches and opportunities of the metagame. Flavor is placed on the end of the chain for a reason, and that is so it has 0 influence on the competitive aspects. Roaduo was a massive break of this, prioritizing flavor over competitiveness. That's just, not what CAP does - it only did it once, in its entire history, and was for the 25th CAP comemoration - and the only actual mechanical enforcement was being a Fire, Water and Grass line. Explicitly a celebration thing, and a much smaller impact on the competitive side than deciding typing and large parts of the movepool too.


I feel like I'd be on the train of starting placing a bow on things and calling it done. The project's title is unfit at best and misleading at worst, the original vibe just isn't there anymore and people just aren't interested anymore.

It's just, it's not CAP anymore. It's not.

I definitey got way overdramatic here; my overall point is that I got upset that the process didn't follow the CAP project with as much fidelity as it followed the conventions of RBY, and that lead to my loss of interest. It's definitely not a scam or clickbait, only that it made me dissapointed with the project as a whole.

Calling the entire mod a scam and clickbait because you're upset about the "must match one typing of the original mon it is evolving from" rule is ridiculously dramatic, overblown, and rude to all the people who have put time into the project. Flavor at no point overtook competitive viability in the design of the Pokemon. If you don't like how it was handled by all means, move on, but you've ranted about this multiple times on Discord and now here. You can have your own opinion and decide you don't want to be involved anymore, but let's keep some perspective here: this is a niche pet mod for a niche generation and a niche concept that is high-effort compared to submissions in similar pet mods with a burden of needing art, and the opening tournament got 16 signups. No money was involved in the project aside from the small prize I put up on the tour, nobody was "scammed" or "clickbaited" into anything, so perhaps we could be less dramatic about not liking the typing of a CAP?
 
I personally think right now we should try and develop the tier with some discord tournaments and maybe another forum tournament??? I think we should have resources made as weve reached a reasonable conclusion. If after a while we want more mons? Lets do it! I personally would prefer if we continued would also prefer more unique caps (i dont like prevo or evo mons) but thats just my preference. but in the end we wanted a playable metagame right? If our niche tier for a niche audience ends up changing every month those 1 or 2 games that happen in that span wont help us get a playable metagame.
 
I don't see much point of continuing this petmod if there's no one playing it, I like it, but I also tried to find a game a few slates ago to just find out that no one had built almost any teams since the tour. Ideally, I think there should be tournaments or at least some amount of games first before developing this more.
 
Alright gamers, after a long hiatus of "Sabelette needs to do a bunch of life stuff and doesn't have time to look at this" I think we will do exactly what gastlies suggested, make something balanced for Ubers rather than OU, then we will be done with slates, I'll bugfix and update the resources, and we can have a little sendoff tournament (perhaps even with an Ubers game as part of it...) and see what happens from there. So that said... let's do it. It's been a while so I understand if the interest has dropped but lets give it a shot.

Sendoff Slate: Concept
The first component of the slate is the concept! This is the overall role that you want the CAP to fill. The broader the concept is, the more freedom we will have to play around with stats/typing/moves later on. I'll give one week to submit - as this slate is for an Uber level CAP, most things are good to go here conceptually. Just keep in mind your concept cannot mandate a specific typing.
 
Broken Typing
Simple concept, a Pokemon with a type combination that would destroy OU, whether because of incredible STABs, broken resistances or immunities, or some combination of the two; this could even involve a signature move for a type that would be strong offensively if only it had a good move, but there are tons of viable combinations even without signature moves.
 
"Welcome to Hell!" - Partial Trapping Move Abuse
The idea should be rather simple by just hearing the name, but the idea behind it is creating a Pokémon that is designed around nearly exclusively using partial trapping moves as a way to in no uncertain terms piss off the opponent. In theory this concept could be applied to more than just partial trapping moves and making it more of a "lets abuse the game's mechanics to make a Pokémon that is downright unfun to fight."
 
Achilles Heel
The idea is for an extreme Pokemon that on paper would be way above the rest of the tier's power level, but is dragged back by one or more severe holes in its movepool, statline, and/or typing. The most obvious example is a Pokemon with big stats that's undercut by a really bad typing but you could also do something like, I dunno, a Pokemon with an especially good defensive profile but not even Rest for healing for example.
