First competitive RMT

K, so it's my first time with an RMT, and I already know I have a huge Ice weakness, but I still think this team will put a hurt on anything that doesn't have multiple Ice Beamers... Items are really new to me... been using those +10% mods till I visited this site... don't have to be gentle, not like I'm sensitive or something...

Garchomp - Sand Veil
Adamant - 4hp / 252 atk / 252 spd
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Fire Fang/Stone Edge
- Swords Dance

does this really need explanation... Gonna put a hurt on pretty much anything... even steels with Fire Fang... so yah... 4x weak to Ice, right?

Walrein - Thick Fat (Leftovers)

- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Signal Beam
- Yawn

This tub of fat laughs at every single Ice move there is... heck, blizzard him in a hailstorm if you want... STAB Surf and Ice Beam off 95 base SpAtk, dang, why couldn't he get Slack Off..., only real threats are Fighting, Electric, and Grass... should probably take care of those... Yawn for forcing switches, Signal Beam cause it's unexpected.

Salamence - Intimidate
Modest - 4hp / 252 spAtk / 252 spd
- Flamethrower
- Dragon Pulse
- Hydro Pump
- Draco Meteor

Adds a grass eater and a certifiable Special attacker to the team, takes out the Tang's and other grass ropers that pose a threat to Walrein, as well as a good fighting counter... another Ice weak... bulky waters may pose a problem, especially boltbeamers... well beam is still covered with Walrein, let's try and cover Bolt... (we'll worry about Rocks soon)

Electivire - Electric Engine
Lonely - no EV spread yet
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Cross Chop

Fists of fury here... comes in on predicted electric attacks, and tries to take something down with Psuedo Boltbeam, will scare off most waters, except for Swampert, still fragile, and someone throwing rocks can be deadly... even Stealth Rocks could be accumulating at this point...

Rhyperior - Solid Rock (Choice Band?)
Adamant - 120 hp / 212 atk / 176 SpDef (graciously stolen from Deck Knight)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Megahorn
- Snow Slide

I think the thread dealing with this guy is enough explanation... can switch in on physical attacks and just put a hurt on my opponent... combined with Sala's grass resistance, and Walrein's uber-Ice resistance, He's got backup in case he finds something he can't handle (which isn't much)

Needs a Special Wall as suggested by numerous Smogon'ers, but I just couldn't go with the standards I didn't like, which brought me to an old favorite...

Hypno - Insomnia
(+SpDef -Atk) - no EV spread yet
- Light Screen
- Skill Swap
- Psychic
- Thunder Wave

No restore, but can spread status, ruin Resters with Insomnia, and attack behind a Light Screen that can be passed to my special weak team...

Status - Poison handled by WalRest and Scizor's immune, Burn's are fine on Walrest and Sala, Sleep sucks, maybe put S-talk on Rhyp (since sleep is one of his few counters?) Paralysis is nasty, but hopefully the team's bulky enough and "grounded" enough?

Immunities - Walrein is practically immune to Ice, 2 electric immunities, only one EQ and Stealth Rock immunity (but Rhyp laughs at those too)... lots of resistances... obviously, Ice is still nasty if my predictions are off.

I don't have any way to put something to sleep, and could probably use something to Knock Off... but could use some advice on any glaring weaknesses that can be easily fixed...

Needs a better special wall... you could easily get swept by Scheme/Psychic/Flamethrower/Grass Rope Azelf.

You REALLY need a special wall. Drop scizor for something like blisset or cressilia. Cressilia with reflect,moonlight,psychic/ice beam and thunderwave would help solve the azelf problem with para

I'm thinking Mean Look/Toxic/Wish/Quick Attack Umbreon instead of Electivire...

I already have 2 electric immunities, and only one poke that draws Thunderbolts...

If you're going to put Umbreon on there, I recommend Pursuit for the Azelf troubles, though he may just try and take you out one on one with little risk. Really, Umbreon has a hard time walling with no reliable healing move (it has none really - Moonlight gets Sandstormed, Wish needs Protect to take repeated hits and help others and Rest is begging for rape). Its main use is Pursuiting things like Gengar and Alakazam out, but Azelf is a little too sturdy to scare off like that. Toxic would ruin its sweep, of course, but it would still be a pain in the ass.

I understand what you're saying, and Cresselia is probably my best option (Dusknoir really let me down with a crappy physical movepool and no good recovery)... I just really.... really hate Blissey....

gyrados and infernape weakness, therfore i will suggest slowbro with hp electric over walrein it can still take ice beam and bulky waters fairly well.It has better recovery and you can fit on ice beam if you really want it for the dragons.

Also for electrivire use Cross chop over brick break i know its less accurate but the extra power is worth it especially considering your only really going to be using it to hit blissey who you can afford a miss against.
Also earthquake over fire punch unless you really fear bronzong for some reason.Earthquake will still hit metagross and jirachi for super effective damage and at more base power, it also gives you a bit more assurance against heatran.

Lapras is a better option over Walrein, and helps you with Gyarados; it can take all of Gyarados's attacks sans Stone Edge and 2HKO with Thunderbolt. Fire Blast on Garchomp does more to Skarmory/Forretress than Fire Fang, and you should be hitting other Steels with Earthquake anyway. Also, Garchomp works better as a late game cleaner when everything is at low health, so it isn't advisable to lead with it.
