Favorite lyric from a song?

Part of the lyrics of a Song by Beret titled "Ojalá" it's in Spanish so I had to translate it, which takes away the rhymes it originally has. But still the entire song has a really strong message of personal growth (at least that's how I see it).

This is a hard one since I have so many songs that I love which feature some interesting, cryptic lyrics, but I guess I'll choose something from one of my favorite artists' songs. The Weeknd's song Belong To The World features the line, "You belong to the temporary moments of a dream." It seems simple, but the way he conveys the lyric has so much feeling and meaning to it.

He's also known for making music that has a very distinct, mellow almost mystifying, cynical vibe. The lyric is my favorite in the song because I think it carries a complex essence beyond the seemingly simple meaning. We all dream and we all want something that we simply can't get or just can't get enough of; that something is special because it's different for all of us. Sometimes that "something" seems so far away or unobtainable that we can only dream of it. The lyric is so simply written, but yet so complex when coupled with accompanying lyrics and when individual meanings of perceived from it.

The appendix to the chorus is haunting as are the underlying accoustic arpeggios and sludgy power chords:

This band was cursed in their heyday. The frontman Layne Staley (who actually sings harmonies on this track) slipped off the radar in the mid 90s and died alone in his apartment in 2002 from endless drug abuse. Since then their first pass player has died. They reunited with a new singer in 2009 and I saw them that summer. Jerry welcomed Chester Bennington out to sing Rooster! Caught everyone by surprise. It's a huge song vocally and Chester's voice was perfect for it. RIP.

This is sheer amazing, powerful poetry from a powerful song about wanting a love back and backed by the incredible voice of the best and smoothest lusophone singer of all time, Emílio Santiago. Honorable mention goes to another one of his songs, Verdade Chinesa (Chinese Truth), a seducing tune this time.

Only those who went through a harsh break-up can get the intensity of this song, and even though some time has passed, it still punches me hard. On the good way, of course. This is my favorite song lyrically-wise, and I hope it won't be for long. Honorable mention are shared between Moody Blues' Dear Diary, Pink Floyd's Learning to Fly, and Aphrodite's Child Infinite Symbol.
