Electivire

The Set

name: ScarfVire
move 1: Wild Charge
move 2: Ice Punch
move 3: Earthquake / Rock Slide
move 4: Cross chop/Low kick
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Motor Drive
nature: Jolly
Evs: 252 Att / 252 Spe / 4 Hp

Why does this deserves to be on-site?

- Scarf electivire is very rare in today's metagame. Because of that you can easily surprise your opponent with the scarf.
- Has enormous power and along with the scarf he can revenge kill many Pokemon
- Has the great ability to OHKO Salamence and Dragonite, if his multiscale is broken.
- He has a great coverage of moves which makes him a great revenge killer.
- With the right teammates, he can ensure that nothing every sweeps you.
- With the powerful move Wild Charge Electivie can surprise and severely damage the Pokemon (the ones that don't resist Wild Charge) that are originally faster that it.
- With its coverage and speed OHKO's all weather inducers except abomasnow and Hippowdon, which are not that common.

Additional Comments

- Scarfed Electivire may be outclassed by other Scarfed Pokemon like Landorus (considering the speed factor) , however, if we take in consideration the coverage and the surprise factor Electivire is a pretty dangerous Pokemon.
- The EVs are pretty simple. Everything is invested in speed and attack in order for him to be a better revenge killer and set-up stopper.
- I put rock slide as a slash if someone has problems with Volcaronas but has a Ground coverage. Electivire outspeeds a +1 Volcarona and finished him off with Rock Slide
- I also put Low Kick as a slash if people want accuracy for power. Low kick is mainly there for T-tars. Cross chop, on the other hand, has more power and can be useful against ferrothorns and other steel type Pokemon.
- Electivire can also be used as a Motor Drive bate for other Scarfed Pokemon. When at +1 nothing can outspeed Electivire so your opponent may want to switch into let's say landorus not knowing that you are scarfed. So with an Ice punch you solve the problem with ease :D

Damage Calculations

Everyone is familiar with Electivire's power so i will just write the OHKO and 2OHKO Calcs

Wild Charge

OHKO'es Poltoed
OHKO'es Slowbro
2OHKO'es Skarmory
2OHKO'es Mew

Ice Punch

OHKO'es Salamence
2OHKO'es Haxorus
OHKO'es Dragonite after even sandstorm broken multiscale

I won't go into further details of Damage Calculations

Teammates and Counters

A very good teammate of Electivire is Skarmory because it covers Electivire's only weakness, Ground. Electivire also covers one of Skarmory's weaknesses , Electric and plus gets the Speed boost. A Phazer would also be very nice to have if you don't want to have whirlwind on Skarmory because sometimes Electivire can't handle everything alone. A great offensive teammate of Electivire is CB Terrakion, because he handles all the Pokemon that Electivire is walled by. A fire type is also very useful because Electivers movepool doesn't really cover all the types that fire covers. So a nice partner would be Volcarona, Infernape or Heatran. A specially orientated water typed Pokemon would be great as well because it would kill all the bulky Ground typed Pokemon that resist Electivire's stab. A Rotom-W would be great along with HP grass.

Electivire is countered by all Phsically bulky Pokemon that either resist Electivire's stab or are neutral to it. For example Hippowdon. He completely destroys Electivire. Gliscor could be on that list as well if he has more than 85% percent of his health because then he wouldn't be able to be OHKO'ed by Ice Punch. Lati@s is also a problem because they can easily survive Electivire's Ice Punch and OHKO him with Draco Meteor

I hope you will be able to use this Electivire set successfully.

I have used Electivire in OU, and boy have I been disappointed. While it worked well with a Motor Drive boost, scarfing it just takes away the boon of all that coverage. It works best when used with the Motor Drive boost. Let's also not forget that Electivire fails to 2HKO with Cross Chop on Chansey with ADAMANT. Jolly is just gonna weaken it further. I'm just not very sure about this. Maybe prove me wrong with some logs? Still, I'm really reluctant to use Electivire when I can just use Terrakion or Landorus.

I agree. All this set does is limit Electivire to a single move, and this doesn't do anything that a LO Electivire with a Motor Drive boost can't do.

I don't think that you guys have used Electivire properly. The point here is to revenge kill and surprise at the same moment. I was very satisfied with this Electivire. I, unfortunately, lost the log links i had with him. That's why tomorrow i will make new successful battles with him and post the logs here.

Motor Drive LO Electrivire is very predictable and unreliable. I have tried that set as well and this one fits better in the OU. As i said the, main role he play in a team is beating dragons and revenge killing with Wild Charge.

But can't Terrakion and Landorus do the same thing more or less? They have much more power, and they have good coverage between their main attacks.

The Expert Belt version works better, as it hits harder and doesn't limit itself to one move. Using a Choice Scarf pretty much nullifies its amazing ability, Motor Drive. At +1 in Speed, Electivire has similar Speed to a Choice Scarf, and can hit harder with an Adamant nature, as well as hitting super-effective 'mons harder with Expert Belt.

No way!

Electivire has Wild Charge which rapes Gyarados, Terrakion and Landorus can miss their attack, which is pretty common and the game is over. Also, they don't have the surprise factor which is very crucial at tense moments of the game where your opponent would never think you have a scarfed Electivire.
Electivire's role here is to beat wheather inducers as well. Landorus and Terrakion can't beat all of them. However, Electivire beats all of them and all their sets.

Terrakion beats all weather inducers. Poli cant switch in, Ninetales cant switch in, T-tar obviously can't switch in, and abomasnow cant either. Landorus beats T-tar and Tales, but abomasnow isnt common so it doesnt matter. Electrivire is an overall mediocre Pokemon. The only time u can find an excuse to use Evire is on a SmashPass team, as he's an awesome receiver

I'm pretty sure that "surprise factor" is not a legitimate reason for a set. Once it hits the website, oh hey, it's there for everyone to see and use, and suddenly it's not so surprising that you're really fast.

I don't see how scarf electivire has any niche not already filled by a superior option. Surprise factor just isn't enough to get a set on site.

"2OHKO'es Mew"- Wild Charge does 25.99 - 30.69% to defensive Mew. You only have like a 50% chance to 2HKO offensive Mew after SR(41.52 - 49.12%).

"OHKO'es Slowbro"- Wild Charge does 48.73 - 57.86%, marginally less than it does to Skarmory.

"2HKOs Haxorus"- You Ice Punch, it survives, and smashes you and OHKOs you back with almost any attack. This is a selling point?

And the surprise factor, which appears to be your main selling points, is completely eliminated by putting it up on site. "Everyone is familiar with Electivire's power"...I think that's the problem.

You guys obviously don't understand the point of this set. I never claimed that Scarfed electivire is better than Landorus or Terrakion. In fact, you can't even compare Landorus with Terrakion and vice versa. The point of this set is to make new ways of creating teams with a scarfer such as Electivire. Electivire has his advantage with the right partners that Terrakion and Landorus don't. The same is with Terrakion and Landorus compared to Electivire. With this set teams would be shaped differently. You can't say that Electivire is completely outclassed by Terrakion and Landorus. They have their weaknesses as well. They are countered by certain Pokemon as well. That's why Electivire can pretty nicely fit in the OU with this Scarf set.

I understand that you're using it as a revenge killer. What I don't understand is why this is better than those two. Scarf Landorus and Scarf Terrakion can basically revenge kill the exact same things you have listed. What sets Electivire apart? The coverage? Coverage is a minimal issue when you have high Base Power moves that already hit nearly everything in the tier for neutral damage. As a user stated, the Mew that you will see 95% of the time in OU is defensive Mew. You can barely 4HKO that. Also, you're stating surprise factor as a reason to use this set. While I can agree that surprise factor can be useful, it's never a reason to use a set. If you can provide specific examples of where this is better than the two Pokemon listed, then I will rethink my argument. And yes, you can compare Landorus with Terrakion because they can both be used as Scarf revenge killers.

Electivire wouldn't be a very good revenge-killer, in my opinion. Once it locks itself into a move, the opponent can switch Pokemon and then get a free turn while you switch out. In late-game situations, a Choice Scarf will be very redundant.

What the hell does that mean? You can say that about literally EVERY scarfer, ever. Evire is bad cause every scarfer does his job better and has better STAB moves. Not because a Choice Scarf is "very redundant:.

I think this set might warrant some use. Remember that Electivire can successfully put a stop to volt-turn, a bit unreliably to be honest though. So if you need a pokemon to deal with volt turn and a scarfer, I see no reason why not to consider scarf-electivire.

If people are complaining about the lack of power, and that the speed boost from Choice Scarf is redundant, then wouldn't Choice Band be the better item? I wouldn't really use either on Electivire since its coverage is too good to pass up on; it's easily walled if it can't switch its attacks, and the benefits from the various Choice items are not enough to make up for the loss in versatility imo.

Because Landorus does this, except much better. Landorus can also stop Volt-Switch, and does everything else better, so? And don't tell me what about Hydro Pump... Hydro Pump murders both Landorus and Electivire.
