[SET COMMENTS]
Drednaw is a decent suicide lead thanks to a good Speed tier, access to Stealth Rock, and capability to keep up momentum for its team by utilizing Head Smash recoil to KO itself. The combination of Head Smash and Liquidation provides superb coverage, enabling Drednaw to heavily damage other Stealth Rock setters such as Sandaconda, Piloswine, Golurk, and Clefairy. Bulldoze prevents Pokemon like Flame Charge Silvally formes and Weak Armor Cursola from boosting their Speed and can potentially let Drednaw get off two attacks before it is KOed. Alternatively, Superpower allows Drednaw to super effectively hit Ferroseed. Focus Sash bolsters Drednaw's capability as a lead, letting it survive an attack and set up Stealth Rock or attack the foe. Swift Swim allows Drednaw to potentially take advantage of opposing rain teams.
Drednaw fits on hyper offense teams that appreciate its ability to lead, set up Stealth Rock, and establish early-game momentum. If preserved until mid-game, Drednaw can also function as a powerful offensive threat that can wallbreak against special walls such as Clefairy and Alcremie. Setup sweepers like Klinklang, Silvally-Fire, Skuntank, and Swords Dance Rapidash value Drednaw weakening opposing Ground-types such as Piloswine, Sandaconda, and Galarian Stunfisk. In return, these sweepers can take advantage of Grass-types such as Ferroseed and Eldegoss that pressure Drednaw to set up. Aurora Veil Abomasnow is a notable partner on hyper offense teams, providing dual screens support for Pokemon enabled by Drednaw to set up and sweep.
