[OVERVIEW]

Dragonair has a great defensive typing that allows it to set up on a variety of Pokemon, but it is walled by Fairy- and Steel-types such as Clefairy, Togetic, and Klang. Dragonair faces competition from Fraxure and Zweilous as physical Dragon-types, which are preferred over it due to their greater offensive presence and more valuable offensive movepool. However, Dragonair is the only one that's able to pull off a bulky RestTalk sweeper set. Dragonair can absorb status and heal it off with Rest, activating Marvel Scale in the process, but it isn't a reliable sweeper, as it sometimes has to rely on Sleep Talk rolls to get the move it wants. Dragonair's mono-Dragon typing takes away valuable secondary STAB moves and can make it easy to wall. Dragonair can use Eviolite to boost its defenses, but it relies on the item to be useful and therefore is severely weak to Knock Off and Trick, as the former can take away its Eviolite and the second can lock it into a status move. Dragonair can wall special attackers such as Ninetales, Raichu, and Zebstrika and can use them as setup fodder, as they are forced to switch out.

Moves
========

Outrage gains a STAB bonus and has high Base Power, but it has the downside of locking Dragonair into it and causing confusion; however, if it is picked by Sleep Talk, Dragonair will not be locked into it. Dragon Dance allows Dragonair to outpace Pokemon as well as increase its Attack, allowing it to do more damage to an opposing team. Rest allows Dragonair to heal back its HP, remove status, and activate Marvel Scale. Sleep Talk allows Dragonair to use a move while it's asleep, but it has the downside of relying on luck to get the move it wants.

Set Details
========

Running a specially defensive spread with maximum HP allows Dragonair to survive three unboosted Ice Beams from Poliwrath and two Ice Beams from Life Orb Simipour in combination with an Eviolite, while 24 Speed EVs allow Dragonair to outspeed Floatzel after two Dragon Dance boosts. 44 Attack EVs allows it to 2HKO Pokemon such as Ninetales and offensive Roselia. Marvel Scale allows Dragonair to become even more bulky when it is asleep or statused by giving it a boost to its Defense.

Usage Tips
========

Utilize Dragonair late-game to attempt to clean the opposing team after it has been weakened. After a few Dragon Dance boosts, Outrage is the main move that Dragonair will use to clean the opposing team, although Dragonair will be locked into it and the confusion afterwards can be detrimental. Before attempting a sweep, be sure to take out Fairy-types and weaken Steel-types on the opposing team, as they can wall Dragonair with a few exceptions, such as Pawniard. Dragonair is able to set up on Probopass and Metang, rendering Dragonair capable of breaking them. Dragonair is able to switch in on special attackers such as Raichu, Zebstrika, and Ninetales and get a free Rest or Dragon Dance against them the next turn. When possible, use Rest to gain a Marvel Scale boost as well as heal Dragonair's HP and status. Dragonair could switch in on an incoming Scald or status move, as it can act as a decent status absorber by virtue of Rest.

Team Options
========

Probopass, Klang, and Pawniard can take on Steel-, Ice-, and Fairy-type Pokemon and allow Dragonair to clean more easily. Probopass can also use an Air Balloon to trap Steel-types and do solid damage to Fairy- and Ice-types, while Klang and Pawniard can set up on them. Entry hazard removers, such as Togetic, Pelipper, Armaldo, and Torkoal, are helpful, as entry hazards can prevent Dragonair from having unlimited opportunities to switch in on special attackers. Arbok, Seviper, and Roselia can take on Fairy-types with their Poison-type moves. Machoke and Poliwrath can take on Steel-type Pokemon but struggle with Fairy-types. Ground-types such as Torterra and Piloswine can take on Steel-types as well, but the former is weak to Ice-type moves. Ninetales, Rapidash, Poliwrath, and Klang are very helpful to Dragonair, as they can take on Ice-types. Knock Off users such as Machoke, Simipour, Leafeon, and Lickilicky can cripple Eviolite users for Dragonair, including Fairy-types such as Togetic and Clefairy. Pokemon that can switch in on Knock Off, such as Poliwrath, Probopass, and Carracosta, can allow Dragonair to keep its Eviolite. Physical wallbreakers such as Stoutland, Ursaring, Flareon, and Rapidash can take on physically defensive walls, such as Gourgeist-XL and Pelipper, allowing Dragonair to sweep more easily. Dragonair also appreciates entry hazard support from Pokemon such as Quilladin, Roselia, Probopass, Piloswine, and Carracosta to weaken foes as they switch in, as well as break Focus Sash and Sturdy. Pokemon that are weak to status moves, such as Jumpluff, Kingler, Leafeon, and Mightyena, appreciate Dragonair's ability to absorb them with Rest. Pokemon that have weaknesses to special moves such as Zebstrika, Tangela, Simipour, Raichu, and Pawniard appreciate Dragonair's special bulk.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Dragonair can run a maximum Attack and Speed EV spread with Outrage, Extreme Speed, Dragon Dance, and Iron Tail or Waterfall with Shed Skin, but Fraxure performs this role better, as it has much higher Attack, access to Taunt, and the ability to take Steel-type Pokemon on better with Low Kick or Fairy-type Pokemon with Iron Tail, while it lacks a bit more Speed and a weak priority move. Dragonair could also run Dragon Tail over Outrage to phaze foes, but this causes it to lose out on offensive presence and negates its Speed boosts when it is not asleep. If Dragonair chooses to run this, be sure to have appropriate entry hazards on its team, as it can phaze foes and make them take residual damage from entry hazards. Dragonair can utilize Thunder Wave to slow down foes and offer speed control for its teammates. Dragonair could use the ability Shed Skin to wake up from sleep or heal off status quickly, but then it loses the Defense boost that Marvel Scale provides.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types such as Carbink, Clefairy, Mr. Mime, and Togetic completely wall Dragonair and can switch in for free against it. Dragonair's teammates must take them out before Dragonair attempts a sweep. Carbink and Clefairy can also use Dragonair as setup fodder, as they can use Calm Mind against it.

**Ice-types**: Ice-types such as Regice, Rotom-F, Aurorus, and Piloswine can do severe damage to Dragonair with their Ice-type moves. Piloswine takes low amounts of damage from Outrage, and Rotom-F can outpace Dragonair with a Choice Scarf even if it has two Dragon Dance boosts and use Trick to cripple it or Volt Switch on its predicted switch out.

**Steel-types**: Klang, Pawniard, Metang, and other Steel-types must be taken out or weakened before Dragonair attempts anything, as they can take Dragon-type moves well. Probopass can even set up entry hazards against it or Volt Switch out, while Klang can set up Shift Gears and Pawniard can use Swords Dance.

**Taunt and Encore users**: Pokemon such as Floatzel, Misdreavus, Simipour, Kadabra, and Volbeat can cripple Dragonair by using Taunt or Encore. Dragonair can do solid damage against these Pokemon if it isn't Encored into a setup move.

**Phazers**: Grumpig, Poliwrath, and Lickilicky can phaze Dragonair with Whirlwind, Circle Throw, and Dragon Tail, respectively, and get rid of its stat boosts, though they have to look out for an Outrage.

ok i think the set looks fine and that's what has been tried and tested earlier so yeah theres my opinion

[OVERVIEW]

  • Dragonair has a great defensive typing and requires little support to set up.
  • Dragonair is walled by Fairy- and Steel-types, but the latter aren't very plentiful in the metagame.
  • It has access to Eviolite which can give it a much needed boost to its defenses, but it relies on it excessively.
  • Dragonair is severely weak to Knock Off and Trick, as they can take away its Eviolite and the second can give it a useless item. - > just condense this part to say that it removes its eviolite, and if u setup on a choice trick it makes you useless
  • Dragonair can wall Special Attackers such as Ninetales, Raichu, and Zebstrika and can make them set up fodder.

Moves
========

  • Outrage is Dragonair's best move option as it gains the STAB bonus as well as having a high base power, with the downside of locking Dragonair into it and causing confusion afterwards.
  • Dragon Dance allows Dragonair to outpace Pokemon as well as increase its Attack allowing it to do more damage to an opposing team.
  • Rest allows Dragonair to heal back its HP and remove status, as well as gaining the Marvel Scale boost and increasing its Defense.
  • Sleep Talk allows Dragonair to attack or use Dragon Dance while it's asleep, but has the downfall of relying in luck to get the move it wants.

Set Details
========

  • Running a Specially Defensive spread with max HP allows Dragonair to survive 3 Leftovers Poliwrath Ice Beams and 2 Life Orb Simipour Ice Beams.
  • 24 Speed Evs allow Dragonair to outspeed Floatzel after two Dragon Dance boosts.
  • Eviolite is the only possible item, as it almost single-handedly allows Dragonair a niche in competitive play. this part doesn't really feel necessary, just say eviolite boosts its defenses to avoid the 3hkos/2hkoes that u mentioned before
  • Marvel Scale allows Dragonair to become even more bulky when it is asleep or statused, giving it a +1 boost to its Defense.

Usage Tips
========

  • Bring Dragonair in late-game to attempt to clean the opposing team after the opposition is weakened.
  • Before attempting a sweep, be sure to take out or weaken all Fairy- and Steel- types on the opposing team. you can't "weaken" clefairy and bring drag in, it needs to be dead.
  • Dragonair is able to switch in on Special Attackers such as Raichu, Zebstrika, and Ninetales and get a free Rest or Dragon Dance against them the next turn.
  • When possible, use Rest to gain a Marvel Scale boost as well as heal back its HP and heal off status.
  • Be careful when using Outrage since Dragonair will be locked into it, and the confusion afterwards can be detrimental.

Team Options
========

  • Probopass, Klang, and Pawniard are effective partners for Dragonair as they can take on Steel-, Ice- and Fairy-type Pokemon and allow it to clean easier. mention air balloon probo trapping steels and bopping pilo and other two making quick work of clef
  • Machoke and Poliwrath can take on Steel-type Pokemon, but face weaknesses to Fairy-types. and pilo
  • Physical Wallbreakers such as Stoutland, Ursaring, Flareon, and Rapidash can assist Dragonair by taking on Physically Defensive walls, allowing it to sweep easier. like what??? give examples!! examples help build up your point and explain why drag likes dat shit
  • Dragonair appreciates entry hazard support from Pokemon such as Quilladin, Roselia, Probopass, Piloswine, and Carracosta.
  • Pokemon who can take on Ice-types, such as Ninetales, Rapidash, Poliwrath, and Klang are very beneficial to Dragonair as well.

  • Dragonair can run a maximum Attack and Speed spread with Outrage, ExtremeSpeed, Dragon Dance, and Iron Tail/Waterfall with Shed Skin, but Fraxure performs this role with more attack to spare, while lacking priority and Shed Skin. ??? you're making it seem as if those are +ves for fraxure. just say it has taunt, a LOT more attack, and low kick which bops steels much better than wfall. just make a short mention of espeed + slightly better speed + shed skin as to why you'd ever use it.
  • Dragonair could also run Dragon Tail over Outrage to phaze foes, but loses out offensive presence, and belittles (this is the wrong use of the word 'belittles' lol..) its Speed boosts when it is not asleep. If Dragonair chooses to run this, be sure to have multiple entry hazard setters on your team. mention it abuses hazards specifically and that if sleep talk calls dtail you can rack up a shitton of hazard dmg (esp since hazard setters >> hazard removers. also you dont need multiple hazard setters lol just sr + spikes or even sr does the job)

Checks and Counters

**Fairy-types**: Carbink, Mr. Mime, and Togetic completely wall Dragonair and can switch in for free against it. Dragonair's teammates must take them out before Dragonair attempts a sweep. clefairy ?_?

**Ice-types**: Regice, Rotom-F, Aurorus, and Piloswine can do severe damage toward Dragonair with Ice moves, but have to be wary of a boosted Outrage.
pilo dgafs about outrage imo and rotom-f can outspeed w/ scarf and bop dragon.
**Steel-types**: Klang, Pawniard, and Probopass must be taken out or extremely weakened before Dragonair attempts anything as they can take Dragon-type moves well. Probopass can even set up hazards against it while Klang can set up Shift Gears. mention probo volt switches as i'm p sure you have to fish for sdef drops to win 1v1

**Taunt and Encore users**: Pokemon such as Floatzel, Misdreavus, Simipour, Kadabra, and Volbeat can cripple Dragonair by using Taunt or Encore respectively. Dragonair can do solid damage against these Pokemon if it isn't encored into a set up move.

**Phazers**: Grumpig and Piloswine can phaze out Dragonair with Whirlwind and Roar respectively, though they have to look out for an Outrage. poliwrath pls

In the overview, mention how it faces competition from Fraxure and Zweilous. Also mention its niche (bulky RestTalk sweeper). Mention Poision-types under Team Options as they can aid in removing Fairies. Also mention Pokemon that can absorb Knock Off and take physical hits for it. Thunder Wave could fit somewhwere in OO, but hold off on this until other QC members give their input regarding that. Tag me when you're done and I'll stamp.

Don't add the mention of Thunder Wave until other QC members give their input.

Dragonair doesn't really need little support to set up, just say that its good defensive typing allows it to set up on a big variety of Pokemon
mention some fairy- and steel-types
when you talk about competition with other dragon-types, it looks like you're implying dragonair is better than them, so I would include that they are preferred to it most of the time and the reasons why.
mention that even if it manages to set up, its mono-coverage makes it easier to be walled
mention Dragonair is a decent status absorber because of rest
mention that Rest still isn't a reliable recovery, though it provides Dragonair the marvel scale boost, thus making it harder to KO by physical attackers.

mention what the 44 atk evs do

Usage Tips

mention that outrage should be mainly used to clean the opposing team after getting some boosts or to finish off KOs.
mention that Dragonair can be brought in on status users or moves such as Scald, as it is a decent status absorber.

Team Options
========
mention knock off users, as they can cripple most fairy-types such as clefairy
entry hazard removal is also appreciated to prevent Dragonair to be pressured too much and constantly check attackers.
mention why it appreciates knock off absorbers, also machoke can't really absorb knock off as it also relies on eviolite most of the time
mention why it appreciates entry hazard support
mention teammates that struggle against statuses, as they appreciate a status absorber such as Dragonair
mention teammates that carry mediocre specially defensive bulk, so they appreciate pokemon that can tank special hits such as Dragonair

**Fairy-types**: Mention that most of them can use dragonair as a setup fodder.

**Ice-types**: Mention that Rotom-F can also cripple it with Trick if running Choice Scarf or gain momentum with Volt Switch on Dragonair's probable switch out.

**Steel-types**: Pawniard can also set up Swords Dance on Dragonair.

**Phazers**: Mention why is phazing annoying for Dragonair, also Piloswine isn't a common phazer so I would replace it with something else such as Lickilicky

BenOhver QC 2/3

In Moves say how Outrage works well with Sleep Talk because you're not locked in.

When you talk about weakening Steel-types in UT do mention that it actually sets up on Probopass and lord Metang.

In TO don't use Pelipper as a wall example that wallbreakers weaken because it's setup fodder.

Don't list Probopass in C&C.

Lickilicky uses Dragon Tail, not Whirlwind or Roar.

Dragonair can run a maximum Attack and Speed spread with Outrage, Extreme(space)Speed, Dragon Dance, and Iron Tail or Waterfall with Shed Skin, but Fraxure performs this role better, as it has much higher with much more Attack, (AC) and access to Taunt, (AC) as well as and the ability to take Steel-type Pokemon on better with Low Kick or Fairy-type Pokemon with Iron Tail, while lacking it lacks a bit more Speed and a weak priority move. Dragonair could also run Dragon Tail over Outrage to phaze foes, but this causes it to lose loses out on offensive presence and negates its Speed boosts when it is not asleep. If Dragonair chooses to run this, be sure to have appropriate entry hazards on its team, (AC) as it can phaze foes; making and make them take residual damage from entry hazards. Dragonair can utilize Thunder Wave can be utilized by Dragonair to slow down foes, as well as and offer speed control for its teammates. Dragonair could use the ability Shed Skin to wake up from sleep or heal off status quickly, but then it loses the Defense boost that Marvel Scale provides.

**Fairy-types**: Carbink, Clefairy, Mr. Mime, and Togetic completely wall Dragonair and can switch in for free against it. Dragonair's teammates must take them out before Dragonair attempts a sweep. Carbink and Clefairy can also use Dragonair as setup fodder, (AC) as they can use Calm Mind against it.

**Ice-types**: Regice, Rotom-F, Aurorus, and Piloswine can do severe damage toward Dragonair with Ice-type moves. Piloswine takes low amounts of damage from Outrage, (AC) and Rotom-F can outpace it with a Choice Scarf even if it has two Dragon Dance boosts and use Trick to cripple it (RC) or Volt Switch on its predicted switch out.

**Steel-types**: Klang, Pawniard, and Metang must be taken out or weakened before Dragonair attempts anything as they can take Dragon-type moves well. Probopass can even set up entry hazards against it or Volt Switch out, (AC) while Klang can set up Shift Gears and Pawniard can use Swords Dance.

**Taunt and Encore users**: Pokemon such as Floatzel, Misdreavus, Simipour, Kadabra, and Volbeat can cripple Dragonair by using Taunt or Encore.(space)Dragonair can do solid damage against these Pokemon if it isn't Encored into a setup (remove space) move.

**Phazers**: Grumpig, Poliwrath, and Lickilicky can phaze out Dragonair with Whirlwind, Circle Throw, and Dragon Tail, respectively, and get rid of its stat boosts, though they have to look out for an Outrage.

Dragonair can absorb status and heal it off with Rest, activating Marvel Scale in the process, [ac] but it isn't a reliable sweeper, as it sometimes has to rely on Sleep Talk rolls to get the move it wants. Dragonair's mono-Dragon typing takes away valuable secondary STAB moves and can make it easy to wall. Dragonair can use Eviolite to boost its defenses, but it relies on it the item to be useful and therefore is severely weak to Knock Off and Trick, as the former can take away its Eviolite and the second can lock it into a status move. Dragonair can wall [add space] special attackers such as Ninetales, Raichu, and Zebstrika and can use them as setup fodder, as they are forced to switch out.

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

Dragonair is able to switch in on special [add space] attackers such as Raichu, Zebstrika, and Ninetales and get a free Rest or Dragon Dance against them the next turn. When possible, use Rest to gain a Marvel Scale boost as well as heal back Dragonair's HP and heal off status. Dragonair could switch in on an incoming Scald or status move, as it can act as a decent status absorber by virtue of Rest.

Team Options
========

Probopass, Klang, and Pawniard can take on Steel-, Ice-, and Fairy-type Pokemon and allow Dragonair to clean more easily. Probopass can also use an Air Balloon to trap Steel-types and do solid damage to against Fairy- and Ice-types, while Klang and Pawniard can set up on them. Ground-types such as Torterra and Piloswine can take them on Steel-types as well, but the former is weak to Ice-type moves. Pokemon that are weak to status moves, such as Jumpluff, Kingler, Leafeon, and Mightyena, [ac] appreciate Dragonair's ability to absorb them with Rest. Pokemon that have weaknesses to special moves such as Zebstrika, Tangela, Simipour, Raichu, and Pawniard appreciate Dragonair's special bulk.
