- The Giratina-O analysis is a bit outdated due to metagame progress
- Theorymon originally wanted to do this but he had a lot of stuff to do in his hands
- This update is meant to replace the mixed Attacker set that's currently on site
- This is also to be Giratina-O's first set, as SubCM is fairly outdated in the current metagame.
- This is a WIP because this hasn't been grammar checked yet.
- Merry Christmas everybody!
- EDIT: Added mention as a lead due to Fireburn's request
- EDIT2: Thanks Blackhawk11

Say hello to the best spin blocker in the game. Giratina-O sports an excellent base 150 HP and 100 Defense and Special Defense, coupled with three immunities and six resistances. Furthermore, its Attack and Special Attack base stats are both quite high at 120 each. Giratina-O’s impressive combination of power and bulk allows it to switch into Forretress with impunity, nullifying any attempts to Rapid Spin away any entry hazards. With Levitate, Giratina-O has nothing to fear from Spikes and Toxic Spikes, and can easily survive two Paybacks from Forretress after two rounds of Stealth Rock damage, even with no investment and a Defense-hindering nature. From there, Giratina-O can wreak havoc upon the opposing team through the combination of its powerful moves and the entry hazards it has preserved.

Hidden Power Fire will quickly disintegrate Forretress who are bold enough to stay in and attempt to hurt Giratina-O with Payback. Outside of incinerating Forretress, it is quite effective in dealing with Scizor, Lucario, and Metagross to an extent. Be aware that Hidden Power Fire is quite weak, as it will only manage a mere 3HKO against Forretress in the rain. However, that should be more than enough to prevent it from pulling a successful Rapid Spin later on in the game. Outrage is an obscenely powerful attack that allows Giratina-O to tear through the likes of bulky Kyogre and Blissey at moderate health, as well as KOing Ho-Oh after it takes Stealth Rock damage. In consequence, Giratina-O suffers from being locked into the move for 2-3 turns, and may be open to revenge killing from its faster fellow Dragon-types such as Latios and Palkia. Dragon Claw offers no drawbacks, but it is quite weak in comparison, not being able to 3HKO physically bulky Kyogre and Ho-Oh after Stealth Rock. Without a Lonely or Naughty nature, it is also incapable of 2HKOing Protect Blissey unless it has taken one round of Spikes and Stealth Rock damage. Although Shadow Sneak may be a weak attack, it is Giratina-O’s only priority move and it gets boosted by both STAB and Griseous Orb. With many Psychic types as well as Giratina-O itself running rampant in the Uber metagame, Shadow Sneak can easily pick off the likes of Mewtwo, Latios, and Latias when their HP drops around the 50% area, as well as OHKOing Deoxys-A. Draco Meteor is a very powerful attack that gives Giratina-O a reliable way to dent switch ins, most notably Dialga. Through a combination of Draco Meteor and Shadow Sneak, Giratina-O is also a fantastic check to Rock Polish Groudon, being immune to Earthquake and surviving a Life Orb Dragon Claw even after Stealth Rock damage. One turn of Life Orb recoil and Stealth Rock damage should be enough for Giratina-O to destroy what remains of Groudon.

There are many ways to EV Mixed Giratina-O, but the EV spread given allows Giratina-O to outrun up to Adamant Rayquaza, while having enough power to 2HKO Protect Blissey with Dragon Claw and physically bulky Kyogre after Stealth Rock and Spikes damage, all with Naive nature. With some investment on the physical side, Shadow Sneak can also revenge kill better. The remaining EVs into Special Attack for an extra oomph in Draco Meteor and perhaps Hidden Power Fire. Naive is generally preferred over Hasty as it guarantees that Giratina-O will not be 2HKOed by Forretress' Payback after two Stealth Rock damages. Giratina-O will also survive Rock Polish Groudon's Life Orbed Dragon Claw as well as a Swords Danced, Life Orbed Bullet Punch from max Attack, Adamant Scizor, even after two switch-ins to Stealth Rock.

With a Lonely Nature and the EV spread 252 Atk / 40 Spe / 216 SpA, Mixed Giratina-O can also function as a lead. Many of the common leads fall to it - Deoxys-S will not pull off more than one layer of entry hazards, while Deoxys-A, which fails to OHKO Giratina-o, will be 2HKOed by Shadow Sneak. Kyogre and Tyranitar are both 2HKOed by Outrage while neither can OHKO Giratina-O. Mew falls to Draco Meteor + Shadow Sneak and Shaymin-S is 3-4HKOed by Shadow Sneak, while Shaymin-S can only 4HKO with Air Slash in return. Mewtwo is 2HKOed by Shadow Sneak and fails to OHKO Giratina-O in any way, and Forretress, Mamoswine, and Scizor all fall to Hidden Power Fire. Finally, Ninjask breaks down with a combination of Hidden Power Fire and Shadow Sneak. However, Giratina-O falls to lead Darkrai as Dark Void can put it to sleep and Dialga can OHKO Giratina-O with Draco Meteor. Heatran is a decent partner as it can handle Lead Dialga with ease thanks to its excellent typing. Darkrai leads are slightly trickier to handle - if one does not wish to let Giratina-O take the Dark Void, he or she needs another Pokemon to take the sleep, such as Rest/Sleep Talk Dialga. Following that, another Pokemon is needed to take out Darkrai, such as Choice Scarf Palkia. Lonely is preferred over Naughty in this case as Giratina-O can not be 3HKOed by Timid Shaymin-S' Air Slash this way, and only has a very slight chance of being 3HKOed by Modest Shaymin-S' Air Slash.

To fully abuse Giratina-O’s talents, it should be partnered with Pokemon that can effectively set up multiple layers of entry hazards. Deoxys-S can lay down both entry hazards extremely early in the game, and due to Giratina-O’s offensive nature it full well takes full advantage of them and does not slow down the pace of the team. Forretress can lay down Spikes and Toxic Spikes, and resists all of Giratina-O’s weaknesses while Giratina-O resists Forretress’ lone Fire-type weakness, although Giratina-O should not be switching into Heatran or Ho-Oh as their attacks are absurdly powerful in sunlight. Speaking of sunlight, Groudon’s Drought boosts Giratina-O’s Hidden Power Fire, allowing it to OHKO Forretress, Scizor, and Lucario, and lays Stealth Rock on the opposing side to add to the entry hazards Giratina-O will spin block. Groudon will also handle Tyranitar, who Giratina-O does not enjoy facing thanks to its bloated Special Defense absorbing Draco Meteor, while sandstorm and it’s powerful Dark-type attacks can quickly end Giratina-O.

Despite Giratina-O’s power, it has problems hurting Heatran and Lugia. As such, Kyogre is a decent partner, although it lowers Giratina-O’s Hidden Power Fire’s damage with Drizzle. Kyogre’s strong Water-type attacks will quickly douse away both Heatran and Lugia, while neither can significantly hurt Kyogre. Additionally, Giratina-O can cover this weakness by unsuspectingly adding Earthquake on the set. Tyranitar can stop Heatran, and resists Giratina-O's weaknesses to Ghost and Dark, while Giratina-O is immune to Tyranitar's weaknesses to Fighting and Ground as well as being resistant to Water and Grass. Furthermore, Tyranitar's massive Special Defense allow it to take on special Dragon- and Ice-type attacks. Unlike Drizzle, Sand Stream does not cut down Hidden Power Fire's damage output, although it comes at the price of slowly whittling down Giratina-O's health. Forretress can take advantage of Lugia’s extremely weak attacks and set up entry hazards with ease, and Mewtwo and Darkrai can both set up on Lugia as well. Giratina-O is also quite easily revenge killed despite its bulk. Pokemon such as Palkia, Dialga, Garchomp, Latias, and Latios can come in after Giratina-O has killed something, and can OHKO it. Blissey is quite a helpful partner as it can absorb special Dragon-type attacks these Pokemon may throw, barring Garchomp. It can also provide Wish support for Giratina-O. Scizor can take on Choice Scarf Garchomp, Palkia, and Dialga, resisting their respective Outrage, Spacial Rend, and Draco Meteor due to its Steel typing. These Pokemon will not enjoy Bullet Punch, U-turn, or Superpower. Scizor can also check Latios and Latias with access to a powerful U-turn and Technician-boosted Pursuit. Wobbuffet revenges Garchomp, Palkia, and Dialga if they are holding a Choice Scarf, and it can also Encore a previously mentioned problem, Lugia, so that another Pokemon may set up and take advantage of it. Jirachi is also an excellent teammate due to being able to take on powerful Dragon-type attacks, as well as being able to spread paralysis around with Body Slam and support Giratina-O with Wish.

[This portion of the paragraph can be placed into the EVs section]
If one opts to use Lonely or Naughty, he or she may use 144 Speed EVs to outrun Jolly Tyranitar
while maximizing Attack in order to almost guarantee a 2HKO on 4 HP / 0 Def Mewtwo holding Leftovers with Shadow Sneak. The rest should be stuck on to Special Attack. One may also decide to focus on the special attacking side of Giratina-O as Draco Meteor is the primary move for denting opponents. In that case Mild and Rash are acceptable natures, and the EVs may be formatted like if it had a Lonely or Naughty nature, except with the focus towards Special Attack. Dragon Pulse can also become an acceptable option over Draco Meteor if one decides to go down this route, as it does not sharply drop Special Attack and does not miss, at the price of a considerable amount of power. In the end, one’s preference depends on the team’s needs as well as the factors in the metagame itself.

Welcome to (this seems awkward to me, maybe 'This is' or 'Say hello to" [lol] instead) the best spinblocker in the game. From there, Giratina-O can wreak havoc upon the opposing team through the combination of its powerful moves and the entry hazards it has preserved.

Hidden Power Fire will quickly fry Forretress who are bold enough to stay in and attempt to hurt Giratina-O with Payback. (by the time you get to this point, 'to a delicious crisp' doesn't seem to refer back to 'quickly fry Forretress') Outside of incinerating Forretress, it is quite effective in dealing with Scizor, Lucario, and Metagross to an extent. Pretty well written; the majority of what I managed to find was just simple stuff like repetition of a word too many times or places where the wording didn't really flow.

Seconding fireburn's lead suggestion - shadow sneaking deoxys and draco meteoring groudons etc.

If I am reading this correctly the not should be removed

I feel that in the lead paragraph, you should add a team options to that as well. Like for example, BU Dialga can switch into Choice Scarf Darkrai leads, Heatran can switch into Dialga leads, ect. You might want to mention Earthquake in the set comments as well since Heatran can be such an issue.

What is in bold applies to every Giratina-O set, and should be mentioned in the first set in the analysis. That is assuming you are not going to make this the first set mentioned. If you are, you would then need to edit the SubCM Gira analysis. What isn't in bold could also be made more concise (along with the rest of the analysis).

My comments for team options are in red.

Despite Giratina-O’s power, it has problems hurting Heatran and Lugia. As such, Kyogre is a decent partner, although lowering Giratina-O’s Hidden Power Fire’s damage with Drizzle and making Forretress harder to deal with. Kyogre’s strong Water attacks will quickly douse away at both Heatran and Lugia, while neither can significantly hurt Kyogre. Why not mention Tyranitar? It beats both Heatran and Lugia whilst not lowering HP Fire's damage output. Tyranitar can also lure in Fighting- and Ground-type attacks for Gira to switch in on. Additionally, Giratina-O can cover this weakness by unsuspectingly adding Earthquake on the set. Earthquake only deals with Heatran. Forretress can take advantage of Lugia’s extremely weak attacks and set up entry hazards with ease, and Mewtwo and Darkrai can both set up on Lugia with relative ease. Giratina-O is also quite easily revenged despite its bulk. Pokemon such as Palkia, Dialga, Garchomp, Latias, and Latios can come in after Giratina-O has killed something, and can OHKO it.
Say hello to ("Meet" is a bit more consise, although it probably doesn't matter.)) the best spin-blocker in the game. Giratina-O sports an excellent base 150 HP and 100 Defense and Special Defense, coupled with three immunities and six resistances. Furthermore, its Attack and Special Attack base stats are both quite high at 120 each. Giratina-O’s impressive combination of power and bulk allows it to switch into Forretress with impunity, nullifying any attempts to spin away any entry hazards.

Outside of incinerating Forretress, it is quite effective in dealing with Scizor, Lucario, and Metagross, to an extent. In consequence, Giratina-O suffers from being locked into the move for 2-3 turns, and may be open to revenge killing from its faster fellow Dragons, such as Latios and Palkia. Although Shadow Sneak may be a weak attack, it is Giratina-O’s only priority move, and it gets boosted by both STAB and Griseous Orb. With many Psychic-types, as well as Giratina-O itself, running rampant in the Uber metagame, Shadow Sneak can easily pick off the likes of Mewtwo, Latios, and Latias when their HP drops around the 50% area, as well as OHKOing Deoxys-A. Draco Meteor is a very powerful attack that gives Giratina-O a reliable way to dent switch-ins, most notably Dialga.

There are many ways to EV Mixed Giratina-O, but the EV spread given allows Giratina-O to outrun neutral base 95s, most notably Rayquaza, while having enough power to 2HKO Protect Blissey with Dragon Claw and physically bulky Kyogre after Stealth Rock and Spikes damage, all with a Naive nature. With some EV investment (a bit more precise than "focus") on the physical side, Shadow Sneak can also revenge kill better. (You may wish to explain what exactly can be revenged killed better.) The remaining EVs (more consistent) are thrown into Special Attack for an extra oomph in Draco Meteor and perhaps Hidden Power Fire. Naive is generally preferred over Hasty as it guarantees that Giratina-O will not be 2HKOed by Forretress' Payback after two switch-ins into Stealth Rock. Giratina-O will also survive Rock Polish Groudon's Life Orbed Dragon Claw as well as a Swords Danced, Life Orbed Bullet Punch from max Attack, Adamant Scizor after two switch-ins into Stealth Rock.

(Changed the wording here so the phrase flows better with the remaining sentence.) Kyogre and Tyranitar are both 2HKOed by Outrage, while neither can OHKO Giratina-O. Mew falls to Draco Meteor + Shadow Sneak. while Shaymin-S is 3-4HKOed by Shadow Sneak, while Shaymin-S can only 4HKO with Air Slash. However, Giratina-O falls to lead Darkrai as Dark Void can put it to sleep, and Dialga can OHKO Giratina-O with Draco Meteor. Heatran is a decent partner as it can handle Lead Dialga's (The plural form of Dialga is also Dialga.) with ease thanks to its excellent typing. (I am a bit confused by this sentence, as a Naughty nature has not been mentioned anywhere in the analysis, except for a brief mention in the second paragraph, up to this point.)

To fully abuse Giratina-O’s talents, it should be partnered with Pokemon that can effectively set up multiple layers of entry hazards. Deoxys-S can lay down both entry hazards extremely early in the game. Due to Giratina-O’s offensive nature, it full well takes advantage of them and does not slow down the pace of the team. Forretress can lay down Spikes and Toxic Spikes, and also resists all of Giratina-O’s weaknesses, while Giratina-O resists Forretress’ lone Fire weakness, although Giratina-O should not be switching into Heatran or Ho-Oh as their attacks are absurdly powerful in sunlight. Speaking of sunlight, Groudon’s Drought boosts Giratina-O’s Hidden Power Fire, allowing it to OHKO Forretress, Scizor, and Lucario, and lays Stealth Rock on the opposing side to add to the entry hazards Giratina-O will spin-block. Groudon will also handle Tyranitar, who Giratina-O does not enjoy facing thanks to its bloated Special Defense absorbing Draco Meteor, while sandstorm and its powerful Dark-type attacks can quickly end Giratina-O.

Despite Giratina-O’s power, it has problems hurting Heatran and Lugia. As such, Kyogre is a decent partner, although Drizzle lowers Giratina-O’s Hidden Power Fire’s damage. Kyogre’s strong Water-type attacks will quickly douse away at both Heatran and Lugia, while neither can significantly hurt Kyogre. Additionally, Giratina-O can cover this weakness by unsuspectingly adding Earthquake on the set. Forretress can take advantage of Lugia’s extremely weak attacks and set up entry hazards with ease, and Mewtwo and Darkrai can both set up on Lugia as well (Changed to avoid repetition).

If one opts to use Lonely or Naughty, he or she may use 144 Speed EVs to outrun Jolly Tyranitar while maximizing Attack in order to almost guarantee a 2HKO on 4 HP / 0 Def Mewtwo holding Leftovers with Shadow Sneak.

Ok, I think I covered just about everything in the OP. I'm not sure if it is just me, but there seems to be a lot of information that adds to the length of the analysis. Is all of the information really necessary?

[SET COMMENTS]

Say hello to the best spinblocker in the game. With Levitate, Giratina-O has nothing to fear from Spikes and Toxic Spikes, and can easily survive two Paybacks from Forretress after two rounds of Stealth Rock damage even with no investment and a Defense-hindering nature.

Be aware that Hidden Power Fire is quite weak, and will only manage a mere 3HKO against Forretress in the rain. In consequence, Giratina-O suffers from being locked into the move for 2-3 turns, and may be open to revenge killing from its faster fellow Dragons such as Latios and Palkia. Although Shadow Sneak may be a weak attack, it is Giratina-O’s only priority move and it gets boosted by STAB and Griseous Orb.

With focus on the physical side, Shadow Sneak can also revenge kill better. The rest are thrown into Special Attack for an extra oomph in Draco Meteor and perhaps Hidden Power Fire. Naive is generally preferred over Hasty as it guarantees that Giratina-O will not be 2HKOed by Forretress' Payback after two Stealth Rock damages. Giratina-O will also survive Rock Polish Groudon's Life Orbed Dragon Claw as well as a Swords Danced, Life Orbed Bullet Punch from max Attack, Adamant Scizor after two Stealth Rock damages.

With Lonely Nature and the EV spread 252 Atk / 40 Spe / 216 SpA, Mixed Giratina-O can also function as a lead. Many of the common leads fall to it - Deoxys-S will not pull off more than one layer of entry hazards, Deoxys-A can not OHKO it while Giratina-O easily destroys it with Shadow Sneak. Kyogre and Tyranitar are 2HKOed by Outrage while neither can OHKO Giratina-O. Mew falls to Draco Meteor + Shadow Sneak while Shaymin-S is 3-4HKOed by Shadow Sneak, while Shaymin-S can only 4HKO with Air Slash. Mewtwo is 2HKOed by Shadow Sneak and fails to OHKO Giratina-O in any way, and Forretress, Mamoswine,(comma) and Scizor all fall to Hidden Power Fire. Finally, Ninjask breaks down with a combination of Hidden Power Fire and Shadow Sneak. However, Giratina-O falls to lead Darkrai as Dark Void can put it to sleep and Dialga can OHKO Giratina-O with Draco Meteor. Heatran is a decent partner as it can handle Lead Dialga's with ease thanks to its excellent typing. Darkrai lead is slightly trickier to handle - if one does not wish to let Giratina-O take the Dark Void, he or she needs another Pokemon to take the sleep, such as Rest/Sleep Talk Dialga. I did the grammar check, but atm i can't content check. I might have missed something because I'm tired, but otherwise it should be good.
