Rotom-Heat @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Def / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dark Pulse
- Toxic
- Overheat
- Protect

252+ SpA Azelf Psyshock vs. 0 HP / 252 Def Rotom-Heat: 106-126 (43.9 - 52.2%) -- 15.6% chance to 2HKO
Everything else is a possible 6HKO. Ask the calcs.

4+ SpA Life Orb Rotom-Heat Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Azelf: 153-182 (52.5 - 62.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
4+ SpA Life Orb Rotom-Heat Overheat over 2 turns vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Azelf: 281-330 (96.5 - 113.4%) -- 75% chance to 2HKO
You're probably wondering about this set a bit and why I gave it 252 in Defense. This is so Rotom-Heat doesn't die to Azelf too early, and noting of its movepool I decided to take this approach.

You forgot rocks
252+ SpA Azelf Psyshock vs. 0 HP / 252 Def Rotom-Heat: 106-126 (43.9 - 52.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

With the perfect prediction, Azelf uses Psyshock on the switch in. The calcs for Azelf appear to be wrong it is a guaranteed 3HKO, I checked. Since Azelf is faster than Rotom-Heat, it then proceeds to survive a dark pulse and then defeat Rotom-Heat, without even needing Stealth Rock. Note that Rotom-Heat switches in on Azelf, so Azelf gets a free turn to attack.

252 SpA Azelf Psyshock vs. 0 HP / 252 Def Rotom-Heat: 96-114 (39.8 - 47.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
4+ SpA Life Orb Rotom-Heat Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Azelf: 153-182 (52.5 - 62.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Azelf speed: 361
Rotom-Heat speed: 208

So, Rotom-Heat is a check, not a counter.

Azelf is speedy lol it's rly OP (pls don't put it in UBER though)

Uxie @ Wiki Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Psyshock
- Toxic
- Yawn
- U-Turn

252+ SpA Azelf Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Uxie: 63-75 (17.7 - 21.1%) -- possible 5HKO
252+ SpA Azelf Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Uxie: 63-75 (17.7 - 21.1%) -- possible 5HKO
252+ SpA Azelf Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Uxie: 55-66 (15.5 - 18.6%) -- possible 6HKO
252+ SpA Azelf Dazzling Gleam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Uxie: 56-67 (15.8 - 18.9%) -- possible 6HKO

0- Atk Uxie U-turn vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Azelf: 96-114 (32.9 - 39.1%) -- 99.8% chance to 3HKO
4 SpA Uxie Psyshock vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Azelf: 46-54 (15.8 - 18.5%) -- possible 6HKO
Azelf with best play will be spamming Flamethrower/Tbolt. Uxie will poison and Psyshock Azelf. After 3 turns of poison damage and three turns of Psyshock (at worst case, meaning only 15.8% per hit), Azelf will die. If Flamethrower or Tbolt somehow crits or something Wiki Berry will make sure Uxie will stay alive to kill Azelf. Uxie can also use U-Turn to make it faster

I could've used Cress for this but I kinda want to pit one Lake Guardian agains another Lake Guardian. And Knowledge beats Willpower YAAA!

ferrothorn.gif

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Impish Nature
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
- Spikes
- Knock Off
- Body Press
- Leech Seed

4 SpA Uxie Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Ferrothorn: 21-24 (5.9 - 6.8%) -- possibly the worst move ever
0- Atk Uxie U-turn vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Ferrothorn: 22-26 (6.2 - 7.3%) -- possibly the worst move ever

0 Atk Ferrothorn Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Uxie: 106-126 (29.9 - 35.5%) -- 28.2% chance to 3HKO
0 Atk Ferrothorn Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Uxie: 72-86 (20.3 - 24.2%) -- guaranteed 5HKO

Uxie can't do anything to Ferrothorn besides putting it to sleep. Leftovers combined with Leech Seed heals back any damage Uxie can do it. Knock Off can get rid of Wiki berry and prevent Uxie to heal itself. At the end, however, Uxie is going end up dying by the chip damage anyway, so you can just set up Spikes freely.

pyroak.gif.m.1532458525

Pyroak @ Life Orb
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Brave/ Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Wood Hammer
- Wild Charge
- Swords Dance

Pyroak can't get seeded, doesn't care to much about Knock, as it still does plenty of damage with its STAB. Body Press is the only thing that mildly threatens, but it out speeds Ferro. It can also use the opportunity to set up a SD.

dragalge.gif

Dragalge @ Assault Vest
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 116 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpA / 132 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Sludge Bomb
- Dragon Pulse
- Focus Blast

Dragalge:
252+ SpA Adaptability Dragalge Sludge Wave vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Pyroak: 408-480 (107 - 125.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Pyroak without SD:
252+ Atk Life Orb Pyroak Flare Blitz vs. 116 HP / 8 Def Dragalge: 101-120 (33.6 - 40%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Pyroak Wood Hammer vs. 116 HP / 8 Def Dragalge: 51-60 (17 - 20%) -- possible 5HKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Pyroak Wild Charge vs. 116 HP / 8 Def Dragalge: 51-60 (17 - 20%) -- possible 5HKO

Pyroak with SD:
+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Pyroak Flare Blitz vs. 116 HP / 8 Def Dragalge: 201-238 (67 - 79.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Pyroak Wood Hammer vs. 116 HP / 8 Def Dragalge: 100-118 (33.3 - 39.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Pyroak Wild Charge vs. 116 HP / 8 Def Dragalge: 100-118 (33.3 - 39.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Strategy
Dragalge switches in. Pyroak, using perfect strategy, either uses SD on the switch, or uses it's STAB Flare Blitz. None can do much to Dragalge as it outspeeds and OHKOs after the switch. The most damage Pyroak can do before it is defeated is 59.6%, and that is if it gets a Crit with Flare Blitz. The rest of Dragalge's moves are for coverage. Scald hits other Fire types, and Ground types that can hit hard with their STAB moves. Sludge Bomb is the main STAB, hitting Grass and Fairy. Dragon Pulse hits other Dragon types. Lastly, Focus Blast hits Normal, Ice, Rock, Dark, and Steel (Steel is immune to sludge and resists the others) types.

By the way, I have a question. Are uber tier pokemon allowed on this challenge forum?

Let's have a little fun, shall we? — Melmetal learns Double Iron Bash.

Melmetal @ Assault Vest
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Double Iron Bash
- Earthquake
- Thunder Punch
- Ice Punch

100% not reused set
252+ SpA Dragalge Focus Blast vs. 4 HP / 252 SpD Assault Vest Melmetal: 162-192 (39.3 - 46.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

252+ Atk Iron Fist Melmetal Double Iron Bash (2 hits) vs. 116 HP / 8 Def Dragalge: 302-356 (100.6 - 118.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

buzzwole.gif

Buzzwole @ Leftovers
Impish Nature
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 Spe
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Bulk Up
- Roost

252+ Atk Iron Fist Melmetal Double Iron Bash (2 hits) vs. 252 HP / 144+ Def Buzzwole: 170-204 (40.6 - 48.8%) -- approx. 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Iron Fist Melmetal Double Iron Bash (2 hits) vs. +1 252 HP / 144+ Def Buzzwole: 116-138 (27.7 - 33%) -- approx. 75.4% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Buzzwole Drain Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Melmetal: 158-188 (38.3 - 45.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+1 0 Atk Buzzwole Drain Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Melmetal: 236-282 (57.2 - 68.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Melmetal can just 3HKOes Buzzwole at the best even without Drain Punch recovery. Also, Bulk Up helps Buzzwole to mitigate the damage of Double Iron Bash and to improve damage and recovery of Drain Punch. Roost and Leftovers allow it to take more hits and to keep healthy while it sets up.

Moltres @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Timid Nature
- Flamethrower
- Scorching Sands
- Air Slash
- Solar Beam

Moltres:
252 SpA Moltres Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Buzzwole: 474-560 (113.3 - 133.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Moltres Air Slash vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Buzzwole: 792-936 (189.4 - 223.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Moltres Scorching Sands vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Buzzwole: 62-73 (14.8 - 17.4%) -- possible 9HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Moltres Solar Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Buzzwole: 105-124 (25.1 - 29.6%) -- 0% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

Buzzwole:
0 Atk Buzzwole Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Moltres: 79-93 (20.5 - 24.2%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
0 Atk Buzzwole Drain Punch vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Moltres: 59-69 (15.3 - 17.9%) -- possible 6HKO

Strategy:
With the perfect strategy, Buzzwole would attack on the switch, seeing as neither of the Status moves will be useful. Moltres would tank it and OHKO Buzzwole with either Flamethrower or Air Slash. GG easy counter, because Buzzwole has a x4 weakness to Flying.

Set Details:
Flamethrower and Air Slash are the main STABs, hitting Grass, Ice, Bug, Steel, and Fighting. Scorching Sands hits other Fire types, as well as Electric and Poison. Solar Beam is used when you predict a switch to a Water, Rock, or Ground type. Good luck beating this!

Edit: Next thing you know, someone comes up with some crazy strong Rock+Bug (or Grass or Flying) type. Oh wait...

Stratagem @ Wise Glasses
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Paleo Wave
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power

Stratagem has seen a bit of use as of late as a very solid answer to Moltres/Zapdos that can force SR up, which is otherwise a thorny issue vs the two birds (also Torn-T). I could post calcs, but it takes little from Flamethrower and trivially OHKOs with Paleo Wave,

------

In the future please only post "normal" sets, that is, sets that have use besides being an answer to the mon posted above.

There is no point to this thread if every single post is just a heavy counterteam to any set posted already. Technically speaking a Rest/Sleep Talk Aerodactyl is a perfect answer to the set above, taking virtually 0 damage from it and never dying to it, but its not something that will ever be approached for a team. Please ensure that the sets posted are at least within a standard deviation of viable, that is, they have a place on a team beyond being a perfect answer to the mon posted above. (Also having 500 coverage moves to try to make the mon unanswerable doesn't help)

Arghonaut @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Body Press
- Knock Off
- Recover

252 SpA Wise Glasses Stratagem Earth Power vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Arghonaut: 102-120 (24.6 - 28.9%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Def Arghonaut Body Press vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Stratagem: 330-390 (102.8 - 121.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Even with full Defense EV investment, Arghonaut comfortably takes Wise Glasses Stratagem's attacks and can KO back with Body Press. In an actual match though, consider scouting for Dazzling Gleam or Energy Ball!

Kerfluffle @ Choice Specs
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Spa / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Focus Blast
- Sludge Wave/Snarl/Close Combat
- Parting Shot

Moonblast destroys Arghonaut and still easily 2hko if your hit by knock on the switch.
Focus Blast lets you keep Steels away, which gives more freedom to clicking Moonblast.
The third slot is pretty free. Sludge Wave is a way to hit fairies, that expect a Focus Blast. Snarl can be used for Aegislash and Slowking G, while Close Combat has a pretty good chance to 2hko Blissey.
Parting shot is a way to keep up momentum on an expected switch and with natural cure as ability is a good way to get rid of any status.

252 SpA Choice Specs Kerfluffle Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Arghonaut: 422-500 (101.9 - 120.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Kerfluffle Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Arghonaut: 284-336 (68.5 - 81.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Def Arghonaut Body Press vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Kerfluffle: 66-78 (21.3 - 25.2%) -- 0% chance to 4HKO

:sm/toxapex:

Toxapex @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Recover
- Haze
- Toxic Spikes / Knock Off

0 SpA Toxapex Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Kerfluffle: 58-70 (18.7 - 22.6%) -- possible 5HKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Kerfluffle Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 112 SpD Toxapex: 91-108 (29.9 - 35.5%) -- 25.6% chance to 3HKO

Pretty standard Pex. It does Pex things, and Kerf can't break it without a crit or a SpD drop from FB. Pex can knock off the Specs and make Kerf sad, or set T-spikes to make It's team sad.

Miasmaw @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Neutralizing Gas
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Draco Meteor
- Thunderbolt
- Close Combat

252 SpA Miasmaw Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 112 SpD Toxapex: 124-146 (40.7 - 48%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 SpA Miasmaw Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 112 SpD Toxapex: 244-288 (80.2 - 94.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

0 SpA Toxapex Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Miasmaw: 30-36 (9.6 - 11.5%) -- possible 9HKO
0- Atk Toxapex Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Miasmaw: 44-52 (14.1 - 16.7%) -- possible 6HKO

While a well-played Toxapex might be able to still win in the long run, Nasty Plot Miasmaw puts Toxapex in quite a fix since only one Thunderbolt forces Toxapex to use Recover, giving Miasmaw the chance to use Nasty Plot. Neutralizing Gas also shuts down Regenerator.

Jumbao @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Leaf Storm
- Focus Blast
- Healing Wish

+2 252 SpA Miasmaw Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Jumbao: 87-102 (26.7 - 31.3%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
4 Atk Miasmaw Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Jumbao: 57-68 (17.5 - 20.9%) -- possible 5HKO

252 SpA Jumbao Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Miasmaw: 342-404 (109.9 - 129.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Pretty standard scarf Bao set, able to provide your team with speed control while also handling this Miasmaw set very well. Moonblast and Leaf Storm for STABs, Focus Blast for coverage to hit Steels, and Healing Wish for utility.

Aegislash @ Choice Specs
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 76 HP / 252 SpA / 180 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon
- Steel Beam
- Close Combat

252 SpA Jumbao Leaf Storm vs. 76 HP / 0 SpD Aegislash-Shield: 76-90 (27.1 - 32.1%)
252 SpA Jumbao Moonblast vs. 76 HP / 0 SpD Aegislash-Shield: 56-66 (20 - 23.5%)

252+ SpA Choice Specs Aegislash-Blade Flash Cannon vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Jumbao: 440-518 (135.3 - 159.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Aegislash resists both stabs and immune to focus blast, and can use Jumbao as a chance to start firing off powerful shadow balls/flash cannons. Even this fast set with relatively few defensive EVs can, at worst, switch in twice and fire back.

:sm/mollux:

Mollux @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 248 SpD / 8 Spe
Calm Nature
- Recover
- Lava Plume
- Sludge Bomb
- Calm Mind

252+ SpA Choice Specs Aegislash-Blade Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 248+ SpD Mollux: 160-189 (40.6 - 47.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

252+ SpA Choice Specs Aegislash-Blade Steel Beam vs. 252 HP / 248+ SpD Mollux: 139-164 (35.2 - 41.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

0 SpA Mollux Lava Plume vs. 76 HP / 4 SpD Aegislash-Blade: 374-444 (133.5 - 158.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Definitely a shaky counter (if it has any damage or loses its boots it gets swamped) but Mollux isnt 2HKOed by anything specs Aegis can do. Mollux in return can lava plume. Mollux is most certainly forced out after the kill, but it gets the job done

heatran.gif.m.1532458525

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 128 SpD / 128 Spe
Calm Nature
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock

Calcs:

Mollux does nothing

Heatran: 0 SpA Heatran Earth Power vs. 252 HP / 248+ SpD Mollux: 228-272 (57.8 - 69%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Do I have to say anything? Mollux can't damage, Heatran cleanly 2HKO's. It can't even Recover stall because Taunt.

:Pelipper: @ Damp Rock
Bold Nature
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
- Weather Ball / Scald
- Roost
- U-turn
- Defog

Weather Ball is a clean 2HKo and while Scald isn’t, it’s still enough to force Tran out.
Roost for longevity and Uturn to keep momentum and make the most of drizzle turns.
You might want to run heavy duty boots to preserve bulk, especially if you’re against opposing weather, where coming in repeatedly and staying healthy is imperative. otherwisdamp rock is the best option, to support the team with the most rain turns possible.
I have seen choice specs as well which can hit surprisingly hard and is best run with hurricane over Roost and Scald over Defog, but it’s probably a very niche pick.

0 SpA Pelipper Weather Ball (100 BP Water) vs. 252 HP / 128+ SpD Heatran in Rain: 236-282 (61.1 - 73%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Pelipper Scald vs. 252 HP / 128+ SpD Heatran in Rain: 192-228 (49.7 - 59%) -- 71.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Heatran Magma Storm vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Pelipper in Rain: 44-52 (13.6 - 16%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock and trapping damage
0 SpA Heatran Magma Storm vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Pelipper in Rain: 44-52 (13.6 - 16%) -- 0.9% chance to 4HKO after trapping damage

Keldeo-Resolute @ Leftovers
Timid Nature
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Substitute

0 SpA Pelipper Weather Ball (100 BP Water) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo in Rain: 84-99 (26 - 30.6%) -- 3.6% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Pelipper Weather Ball (100 BP Water) vs. +1 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo in Rain: 57-67 (17.6 - 20.7%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Pelipper Weather Ball (100 BP Water) vs. +2 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo in Rain: 42-50 (13 - 15.4%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Max final damage: 100-30.6+6-20.7+6-15.4+6= 51.3

+2 252 SpA Keldeo Hydro Pump vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Pelipper in Rain: 355-418 (109.9 - 129.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Keldeo just needs two set up turns to OHKO Pelipper with rain on the field. In the meantime, Pelipper can't do much damage even if it uses Weather Ball.
