Choosing Your Online Alias

Mine is 4 random letters that I took from fridge magnets. It was actually spelled out etkr but I couldn't think of any way to pronounce that so I re-arranged them and got rekt.

Also it's pronounced "Wrecked" not "Rekeet", I've heard both.

Mine's a nickname for my actual name.... I hate the numbers by my name and have been trying to think of a way to get rid of them :(

Well, back in the day, when I was a Runescape fanatic, my friend's name was da big blast. I loved the name, even though the person turned out to be a bit of a git. So, since then, all my names have been da big blast

My name actually comes from an RP character I created some time ago for the White Wolf game Vampire: the Masquerade. He was a Malkavian dentist who liked nothing more than the cleanliness of teeth (and the occasional on-the-spot extraction with a pair of pliers). So yeah, insane vampire dentist, he was named Toothache, and so am I :-)

Well I was originally on a Nintendo forum. I took my name, and Nintendo, and put them together. Bentendo. Yay. The 1 came because somebody took Bentendo, so I had to add something to make the username available. >:[

I guess the name (and number) has just stuck with me on all the sites I've been too.

I agree with you, anime names can be cool and all but they're a bit overused.

Fads should never be names also. Something like DRIFBLIIIIIIM123 should not be a name. .-.

I like wolves. >.>;

Usually on other sites I go by my real name Sabata. It's an uncommon name, so it's kinda mysterious... It's also pretty easy to remember...

There are only 3 other people I even know of named Sabata, and 2 are fictional, lol. One is from the GBA game Boktai, I often use him as an avatar, 'cause Boktai's awesome. Hehe. ^-^

I just wanted to try out a different name for this site on a whim. I like Sabata better... Blech...

I feel dumb for using a 2 word name as well as using numbers. However the good news is that if you are like me and want to use a 2 word name with numbers, make it roll smoothly when you shorten it.

kd24 sounds pretty nice and thats the name I go by on shoddy, #smogon, and #fluodome. So be sure to get a name you plan on shortening down if you do choose a 2 word + 2 letter name.

Well I obviously chose this handle because I think bowser is the coolest villain ever!!!!! (I would have said this if I was much younger, I've had this name for a while now).

On a serious note.

My friends sometimes give me the nickname Bowser, because I use him in every game that he is in (Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Brawl, etc.), and some people online also call me Bowser..

But why the "blackshell" part? Well three reasons:

  1. When I was playing someone in a small Melee tourament, I won using the blackshelled version of Bowser.
  2. The Final Bowser in Super Mario 64 had a dark hue to his shell.
  3. I figured Bowser was a common handle.

alias #1: Blaziken_57

alias #2: umbarsc

I think I failed criteria with both. "umbarsc" is weird and hard to remember, and Blaziken_57 is so shitty that I had to change it to "umbarsc", which actually has an inside meaning. (It's an acronym)

originally my nickname here was Cookie Crumbz: cookie crumbs because I couldn't really think of anything decent but at the same time it was an innocent enough name; the 'z' because I was retarded. I dispensed with the latter part to make it look more respectable. I'd already been here a long time so I didn't want to make any radical change to it.

I started playing pokemon when Spider-man 3 first released, which was last year, pretty noobish name, but I'm good with it. I'm forced to use numbers in my name when registering in different places, my nickname isn't exactly original.

I pressed my hands on the keyboard and the result is my username. The pronunciation is ambiguous, but you shouldn't be saying my username in real life anyways. Who the fuck are you talking to about someone you met online?

Kirby is my favourite SSB64 character. I always used to use the blue variant, as it is my favourite colour.

Go figure.

Well it all started way back when ezboard was hot shit. Originally my name was Tech Griffin at this board called the "OT Board" which was a sister board to a digimon forum. Eventually I got banned but got unbanned soon after, so I changed my name to Outlaw T Griffin.

Time passed and the board died in time with the digimon craze. I then found netbattle and shortened my name to just Outlaw Gryphon which has been my username to this day.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random

I use a number of different names across various places on the Internet, but I was randomly generating alternate IDs for playing the Official Server ladder and got this one. I don't really use it anywhere that I think people from Smogon would not visit though. I only really use this at Pokemon related forums.

So I have many online aliases, but only one I use here :toast:

Well, I've a couple of names, all of which began rather shrewdly...

Fishyfool: In my 2nd year Science class, one was watching a rather interesting Biology video completely not-at-all-related-to-pr0n incapacitated, something about digestion. My mouth was agape, and said science teacher noticed and advised me that unless one wished to be called fish for the rest of my life, one should shut said mouth.

Naturally the term 'fish' stuck like Yache+SD Garchomp in the OU metagame, and became my nickname. Fastforward a couple of years and my first steps to the internetz, where I decided to play this MMOG called Dark Throne(which still exists, egad!). I merely took my nick, and added a word to the end of it, such as 'fool', and henceforth fishyfool was born, who may be seen on shoddy and SPPfail, among other places.

Raverist: This here comes from DT directly, when one was in the game a few months. There was this guy called RavErz, who was simply put one of the wiser guys in the forum, and often came up with amusing quips that made it into sigs. One time in a heated discussion, I simply became bored and mentioned that I was converting to Raverism, a religion I made up devoted to RavErz, and now said religion is more of a forum clan, albeit very bloody strong. As note of this, one had decided to go with Raverist as a dual meaning, with the first being that I was a Raverist, adn the second that I bloody made it.

Anything else here may or may not be contradictory, and I don't play DT as much as I used to, simply due to me finding a superior game.

i got mine from a family guy episode >_>

jabba.png

Jabba by itself isn't a horrible nickname though so i've just kept it. Been considering getting "TheGriffin" chopped off of the end though.

kusa is japanese for grass. i got it from Lone Wolf and Cub. in it, there were shinobi who took root in towns and lived as normal citizens, never revealing they were shinobi. they were described aas grass, or kusa, because they took root, passed on their mission to their kids, and withered, like grass.
ninja is basically the white version of shinobi, so in my mind i use a japanese word and a white word, making my online alias half japanese, half white, much like myself.

Obviously my name fails the "requirements for coolness." I myself preferred to be called Bam, and thankfully most people oblige. On Shoddy/#smogon or any other forum I go to, my nick is just "Bam".

When I first came here I was known as NSiderBam, but after quickly realizing that people from the NSider boards weren't viewed with any respect or potential, I changed it to BAM_UR_DEAD, which was my nick on the NSider forums at that time.

Unfortunately, some gaywad from here had to pick the name Bam, otherwise I would've found a way to change it to just that by now (I've already had it changed so it would require getting to know some higher-ups for that to happen). However, "Bam" hasn't been active for almost a year, so I'm hoping that they delete old users who never sign on.

Anybody know if they do?

Edit: I guess the only thing cool about "BAM_UR_DEAD" is that I can shorten it to BuD or something. Oh, and in mafia I get bamwagoned, not banwagoned..

Pick a name that sticks with you, and chances are it will stick with other people too!

But yeah tying yourself to a franchise (especially really directly i.e. NARUTOFIEND X) is always a bad idea.

Well, thunder is a pretty intimidating word, just hearing it could make a man quiver in fear. And I used to think replacing -er with -a was really really cool. It could still be. If Thunda is ever taken I use thundaboltz (thunda+boltz) like on Neopets and last.fm or thusunda (thunda + su) like on Gamefaqs.

Also I just right clicked thundaboltz cause firefox says it isn't a word and it gave me thunder-box which would probably make a good username (thunda-box) if I ever need another one.

I don't even remember to be honest... I think it was from Superman's Lex Luthor. I used the name back on the NSider boards. It's really dumb and I've considered getting it changed a few times but people will still call me lexx so it'd be wasted effort.
