Great Tusk's excellent Attack, good bulk, and powerful STAB moves that have good coverage make it a fearsome wallbreaker that can pressure common physical walls like Corviknight, Pecharunt, and RegenVest Manaphy while also being able to support its team by removing entry hazards and removing the foe's item. Knock Off hinders switch-ins like Intimidate Corviknight and opposing Great Tusk, while Ice Spinner snipes Flying-types like Dragonite, Zapdos, and Landorus. Mold Breaker bypasses Fluffy, allowing Great Tusk to pressure Fluffy users like Corviknight, Skarmory, and opposing Great Tusk harder, and ignores abilities that give Pokemon an immunity to Ground, which are typically used on Pokemon like Pecharunt, Iron Hands, and Gholdengo. Fast physical cleaners like Zamazenta and Roaring Moon appreciate Great Tusk's ability to pressure and wear down their switch-ins like Pecharunt and Corviknight, letting them clean the opponent's team once the walls have been removed.
