Battle Bond doesn't work in private battles, atleast. I've tried in Gen9 Ou, Gen9 Customs, Gen7 OU, Gen 7 Customs and anytime Greninja defeats an opponent, Battle Bond simply just doesn't activate.
Yes, the Greninja is male, and no, it's not shiny. (which shouldn't really matter in custom games either way I think but whatever.)
I've tried defeating the pokémon with water shuriken and hydro pump, but no way, it either doesn't get the stat boosts in gen 9, or doesn't turn into Ash-Greninja in gen 7.
Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
Yeah, fairly easily, all I need is a Greninja and a Pokémon that Greninja can faint easily to see that it just straight up doesn't work.
