Best U-turn user?

If you want to abuse U-turn, I think Scizor is definitely one of the best users. He's slow but you can use that to your advantage just as much as a fast U-turn. You can absorb a hit and U-turn to something too fragile to directly switch in. Plus, he's working off a 130 base attack and has STAB, that's about as good as you're going to get for U-turn.

Toss a choice band on him and it becomes incredibly powerful. the other moves are preference although I like technicianed choice band quick attack, night slash/pursuit, and brick break.

Also, I think maxing his attack and HP EVs work best, it makes him fairly defensive as well as hard hitting, speed wouldn't do you much good because he's fairly slow anyways.

Anyways, does anyone feel there is a better U-turn user out there? I've used the above Scizor on shoddy fairly extensively and it does very well.

Edit:Thanks for catching that, yes I ment attack and HP.

I like Flygon with U-Turn and Screech; the fast U-Turn makes sure he gets out of there most of the time unscathed, and the Screech makes the opponent think twice about staying in and switching out. Not saying that it's definitely a better U-Turn user, but it's probably as good and it helps set it apart from its notorious sibling Garchomp and cousin Salamence.

don't you mean attack and hp?

Scizor is a good user of u-turn, I agree with you there. Azelf also uses it well, in that he can scout for special walls and switch immediately to a counter.

Staraptor with U-Turn is pretty cool because Intimidate coupled with Starpator's pretty good speed and monstrous attack causes endless switches, and with U-Turn you can pummel whatever comes in, but also get a free switch to whatever best handles the situation.

But I'll admit that when I first saw this topic, the first thing that came to mind was Scizor. I ran a Choice Scarf Scizor on my old team, and it was pretty awesome just U-Turning for consistent damage and scouting switches

Gliscor is a good user of U-Turn. It can switch into physical versions of Garchomp and Salamence to absorb the hit, then U-Turn out to a fast but fragile counter, like Weavile. Afterward, Gliscor can Roost away the damage.

If I remember correctly, Jirachi is a popular U-Turn user. Aipom with Fake Out then U-Turn can be quite annoying. My personal favorite is Scarf Flygon, but I imagine a few things that receive STAB from it would be great as well.

It has to be Jirachi hands down. Jirachi can use Wish and then be slow enough next turn to absorb a hit and safely make sure your intended recipient pokemon gets the HP recovery.

non nastyplotting azelfs are very good with U turn IMO. I actuaally sweeped a team with azelf as my last poke and just kept on turning....

that aside though, Uturners can also be slow pokes who can bring in a fagile killer like dugtrio or weavile.

I agree with the above, Jirachi is like the only pokemon with U-Turn+Wish iirc and that is great, Wish first, then let the opponent hit you before you U-Turn so the recipient gets maximum HP, also lets you break a sub =)

I currently use it on my Ambipom and Crobat. If I had a decent Jirachi, i'd definitely use it on that.

It's such a great move. Why they had to give it such a silly name is beyond me. ;; Somersault fits, damn you gf!

I was actually going to make both of those points when I saw this thread. Azelf's U-turn may only do something like 25% to Blissey instead of Explosion's 100%, but having your Azelf alive afterwards and having a free, riskless switch-in to Blissey is pretty nice too.

My Wish + U-Turn Jirachi is easily one of the pokes that most often finds its way onto my teams. For any hits you want to absorb you U-Turn, for anything thats slower you can Zen Headbutt it for the 40% flinch. For slow stuff like TTar you U-Turn out while doing some decent damage.

Butterfree! Sorry, I had to say it. Lead with the fragile Butterfly, and spread some status (Focus Sash + Compound Eyes helps a lot), then U-Turn outta there. It's probably not the best, but it's damn fun to double status your opponent, Tail Wind while they are sleeping/fully paralyzed, then U-Turn to a slower sweeper to set it up.

Jirachi and Scizor are my personal favorites at 100 base speed Jirachi is fast enough to get out relatively unscathed most of the time, Scizor on the other hand I use to take physical attack to bring in a fast, fragile sweeper.

Infernape with Speed Nature boost and speed EVs... (346)

Personal favorite.

But as fragile as a house made of paper.

Depends on your needs.

-Scizor gives best power with U-Turn no doubts there.
-Jirachi with good speed and Wish makes it a dangerous support option.
-Ambipom is the best U-Turn user when scouting, high speed and Fake Out lets it do early damage than U-Turn out to scout threats.
-Crobat, Butterfree, Jumpluff and Yanmega all benefit from having strong status which can be thrown off early before escaping with U-Turn.

i agree with you scizor is a beast with u-yurn out of his amzaing attack and stab.ambipom and jirachi are still very good uses too.as for my best u-turner i will have to say ambipom fakeout+u-turn is very annoynng

All true. U-Turn is a very versatile move. You can't just say that one Pokemon is best at using it, since there are different uses. You can say that Scizor is the best U-Turner considering power, but Yanmega beats it if you're using it for status and escaping.

Scyther is my favorite U-turn user. 110 base Attack, 105 base Speed and STAB makes for a great combo. Although as long as Stealth Rock is on the field...
