...because it's mainstrem.

...because it's mainstream
I'm not very good at introductions, but I'll just tell you my story. I originally built this team around early december back when hihidarumas were everywhere and even Darkrai, Skymin and Octillary were on every other team. Many posts were saying that stall is dead, and I decided to build a stall team. Without further ado, here's my stall team from 6 months ago with very little changes.

Whimsicott @ Leftovers
Ability: Mischievous Heart
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Nature: Timid
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Encore
- Taunt

As the second fastest Grass-type in the game, a wide variety of support moves, and access to Mischievous Heart, Whimsicott is a great staller and shuffler. Leech Seed is a great support option for my team, all of whom will enjoy the added health, and is awesome for stall. Substitute used alongside Leech Seed makes this guy one of the best subseeders in the game. Encore and Taunt let Whimsicott act as my panic button for shutting down set-up sweepers, and also help ruin opposing stall. The EVs give optimal defences on both ends of the spectrum, though I’m a bit iffy with them. Timid nature is used simply to outrun opposing subseeding Whimsicott, and I’m considering changing it.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Steel Thorns
EVs: 252 HP / 8 Def / 244 SpD
Nature: Relaxed
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball

Oh man this thing rocks. Sporting 11 resistances and only two weaknesses, 74/131/116 defenses, excellent ability, and a crushing movepool, Ferrothorn is a great wall. Stealth Rock and Spikes are necessary entry hazards, and it’s great that this thing gets both. Gyro Ball is a decent attacking option, working well with his slow speed, and works with Power Whip for decent type coverage. His ability is awesome, letting him work as a sort of pseudo-spin-blocker and making him dangerous to take out. The EVs let him take both physical and special hits amazingly well, while a Relaxed nature boosts his strong defense and lowers his speed, making Gyro Ball more powerful. Leftovers would provide the healing that is needed to keep him alive along with the wish passes from Vaporeon, and Leech Seeds from Whimsicott.

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SpD
Nature: Bold
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Ice Beam

Tentacruel is a great bulky water, and has definitely gotten some perks this gen. Toxic Spikes is my third entry hazard, threatening any non steel, poison, flyer, or levitator sent in with Toxic poisoning, a vital weapon of stall. Rapid Spin is an old utility, helping remove pesky entry hazards from my side. Scald is one of Tentacruel’s new toys, essentially a Water-type Lava Plume. Though seemingly redundant with Toxic Spikes in play, Scald’s burn chance is a viable threat to anything immune to Toxic Spikes, such as Scizor, Salamence, Dragonite, ect. Ice Beam is coverage with Scald. Liquid Ooze is great this gen, ruining fast subseeders and causing the many fighters’ Drain Punches to backfire. The EVs and nature are from the gen 4 standard.

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 8 Def / 248 SpD
Nature: Impish
- Earthquake
- Stockpile
- Slack Off
- Whirlwind

Stockpile Hippowdon is incredibly difficult to KO, with most Pokes barely managing a 3HKO after only two Stockpiles. This, along with Sandstream bringing auto sand in, makes this guy perfect for stall. Earthquake is a good, solid STAB that hits very hard, especially on Shanderaa and Doryuzuu. Slack Off is instant recovery, meaning this sandy hippo can hold his own without having to rely on Vappy’s Wish. Whirlwind is a solid option, letting Hippowdon shuffle the enemy’s team for extra SR, Spikes, and TS damage. The EVs and nature make him super bulky, letting this guy last.

Jellicent @ Leftovers -- Water Absorb
Nature: Bold - EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spd
- Recover
- Toxic
- Taunt
- Scald

With the combination of Tentacruel (as it keeps Toxic Spikes away by absorbing them), this thing works wonders in stopping other stall teams. Which your team would have problems with. Eternal suggested that I tried him and so far, it's work wonders. It's a reliable spin blocker. I prefer toxic over Will-O-Wisp to help me toxic levitating pokemon.

Blissey @ Leftovers -- Natural Cure
Nature: Bold - EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
- Flamethrower
- Toxic
- Protect
- Wish

I also needed wish support and a good special wall in addition to hippowdon because he is unable to switch in to a STAB or super effective Special Attack. The flamethrower helps with Scizor and other Ferrothorns.

Spiritomb @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 140 Def / 116 SpD
Nature: Calm
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power Fighting

Spiritomb is my team’s necessary spin blocker, and can also work as a decent staller with the RestTalk combo for self-healing. Shadow Ball and Hidden Power Fighting give perfect coverage, with nothing in the game resisting them. They also help to hit the two newest threats, Doryuzuu and Shanderaa, alongside older threats such as Starmie and Lucario, with super-effective damage. The EVs and nature provide optimal bulkiness.

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 188 Def / 68 SpD
Nature: Bold
- Scald
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell

Vaporeon was one of the best support Pokemon last gen, and though little has changed for him, he remains one of the best. Scald is new, and the burn chance helps against opponents that are unaffected by TS. Wish is the crux of this set, letting Vappy heal both himself and his team. The new mechanics behind it make it even better than last gen due to Vaporeon’s high HP. Protect works in tandem with Wish, giving a free turn of recovery. Heal Bell is the last option due to my team’s need of a cleric, and it also works wonders with Wish. Standard EVs, Bold nature to boost his mediocre defense. Water Absorb is used over Hydration due to this team’s use in sand.

Gengar @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Substitute
- Hidden Power Fire
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

I had problems with taking care of other Ferrothorn with out a fire move on my team, and I had considered balloon Heatran and tested it, but I desperately need those entry hazards to stay on the field and the spinner would remove the entry hazards and pop the balloon. The EVs are there to output maximum damage.

HP Fighting isn't going to be doing much damage from Spiritomb. It's very weak. Why not use Jellicent instead of Spiritomb. Jellicent gives you coverage to so many things. Here's the Jellicent set:

Jellicent @ Leftovers -- Water Absorb
Nature: Bold - EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spd
- Recover
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Scald

With the combination of Tentacruel (as it keeps Toxic Spikes away by absorbing them), this thing works wonders in stopping other stall teams. Which your team would have problems with. Jellicent is much more bulkier than Spiritomb and has priority in recovering its HP by Recover. Unlike your Spiritomb that has to use Rest and Sleep Talk and become handicapped by this generation's change in how sleeping works. Your Spiritomb's sleep count will be resettted every time you switch it out. Which is a pain in the ass if you want to do anything with Spiritomb. Thus, Jellicent is a MUCH better option and keeps spinners away, like those other Tentacruels, Forretress, Excadrills, etc.

Your team is also seriously weak to Thundurus, and with the addition of Jellicent, that;s not helping. Your team also fears Rotom-W's a lot. So instead of using that Vaporeon set, use the Wish supporting Blissey set instead:

Blissey @ Leftovers -- Natural Cure
Nature: Bold - EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
- Flamethrower
- Toxic
- Protect
- Wish

It will also help you with your weakness to Gengar, Latios, Hydreigon, Volcarona, etc. It fixes so many things.

Lemme just say, you probably don't want Black Sludge on Tentacruel, because if the opponent has Trick, it'll just Re - Trick it back onto something that doesn't want it, like one of the many walls you have.

Thanks Eternal, i'll try them, but i just like to clarify that I have replaced my spiritomb with gengar, so would you want me to get rid of gengar and vaporeon in exchange of blissey and jellecent?

How are you going to deal with Reuniclus, stall's #1 enemy?

I suggest you try to fit in specially defensive Jirachi. He can Iron Head flinch it to death and can easily take Focus Blasts.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spe
Nature: Careful
- Iron Head
- Body Slam
- Wish
- Protect

Or you could also try Calm Mind Latias, who can Calm Mind along with it and Roar it out if necessary.

Latias @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Dragon Pulse
- Roar

HP Fighting isn't going to be doing much damage from Spiritomb. It's very weak. Why not use Jellicent instead of Spiritomb. Jellicent gives you coverage to so many things. I have now entered the new Pokemon and so it has done me well, any more suggestions is now welcome.
