Someone's friend and them are taking their teams from SS/HG and importing them into Showdown so that they can have a "rival battle" after every gym. They keep changing the IVs boxes to match what reflects in their SS game, yet any time they exit (like move on to the moves or go to change to the next Pokemon) the IVs change back to the standard array of 31-31-31. Why aren't the IVs saving?

Hi there, I've set up a Pokémon Showdown server with Pokémon balance tweaks for private use between friends and I in a small Discord community that may grow over time. Unfortunately, we need the replay function, which means I'm going to need to register the server. (I'm aware registration is stalled atm due to policy review, but my assumption is it's still fine to submit them with the knowledge that they will only be responded to after considerable delay. Please correct me if I'm wrong!)

But our problem is: we can easily meet all of the Showdown Server requirements and global rules, but I'd prefer if the server weren't listed. Ideally I would like to have the replay function but not have it listed on the available servers, to avoid spam and user harassment. My first question is: is this possible? It isn't the end of the world if it is publicly listed, but in that case: is needing replays sufficient justification to register a server?

I appreciate any info!

Thats currently not possible sorry, registering a server lists it.

Hi!
I am working on a project for school where I am analyzing how competitive pokemon would change if direct attacking moves would deal half as much damage. I was hoping to use Pokemon Showdown to test different teams and strategies under these conditions, either having pokemon have 2 attack and sp attack debuffs by default or by halfing the base power of all moves, but i haven't been able to find a way to do that. Is there a way to modify the simulator in this way? I am also fairly technical and might be able to pull the repo and do some edits there if pointed in a general direction.
Thank you!

If I force an endless battle with something like recycle and leppa berry, can I be banned for technically breaking the endless battle clause, even if showdown allows this? Asking as there is one encounter where someone got banned for this, but everybody else didn't.

If it's "just" recycle/leppa berry, and strictly that, to my knowledge it doesn't break EBC since your opponent would eventually run out of PP. EBC would be violated if you used this as a mean to trap your opponent's Pokémon (or their last one) and use Heal Pulse on them forever as they keep using Struggle.

I guess I didn't provide enough info, it's recycle, leppa berry, heal pulse, roost/recover and block.

Hi, so I am trying to have the standard rules for Showdown, for one format at least, but I want to specifically allow gengar to have levitate, rampardos to have rock head, flygon to have sand stream, and Krookodile to have sand veil. How do I enable specifically these four abilities without allowing just about anything else, like wonder guard on everything?

If you pull the repo and run your own unofficial server you could create a customised format which includes an onModifyDamage event handler, something like this might work:
Code:
onModifyDamage() {
    return this.chainModify(0.5);
},

Hey, all my teams are suddenly gone and i have no idea why.
I didnt clear cache/cookies or any stuff like that.
Is there a way to get them back or should i just start over with everything?

Is there any data on elo vs player numbers.

For example what percent of players are in the 1000-1200 range? What percent is a player better than at 1800+? What is considered mathematically "above average"? Is there a bell curve graph that shows player percentiles?

How is it that we still don't have an option to use the original Pokemon cries..? Is that still a work in progress? I'd be more than willing to do it myself if I was shown how to do that! Pretty please.

Hey guys,

So I'm trying to set up a tournament in my server that is in the Mix and Mega format, but is also Doubles.

I'm familiar with the custom rules page and how to set up some pretty fun stuff. However, I'm unsure if I can combine formats the same way you would combine rules/bans/clauses,/etc.

Does anyone know if this is possible? That or maybe go a different route, copy all the rules from m&m, and attach it to a Doubles format with the standard
Code:
,

Appreciate any and all answers! Thank you :)

I believe you need a customised version of Mix and Mega to work with doubles, otherwise you won't be able to Mega Evolve both active Pokémon. Other than that, you need to make a complete copy of the Mix and Mega format block but change the gameType: to 'doubles', (and adjust the ruleset and banlist to taste).

This is actually a better fit for the suggestions forum!

That being said a post suggesting this was made ~a year ago. As of right now, it still hasn't been approved for development, likely because it's very, very low priority, considering everything else the devs are working on.

Though, the more reacts a post gets in the suggestion forums, the higher chance it has to be approved, so the best you can do at the moment is react to the first post.

But here says there are some inactive accounts that needs to be reset in order to access them, doesn't that mean the mods (or the system) delete inactive accounts?
That post is out of date, hence why its not pinned anymore. This is our current policy which is very similar: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threa...-contacting-upper-staff.3538721/#post-6227626

Regardless, Mia is correct, we do not delete accounts. The idea is if you account goes unused for a few years and a contributor who meets the requirements requests it, we will reset the password and give them the account. We only do this for abandoned accounts though, and we do not delete accounts.

I see, but how long does an account take to become an abandoned account that can be claimed by qualified players?
