Can anyone actually confirm if Slowpoke is actually on Route 211 on the West side on Pearl? I've been looking in the grass for about 2 hours and the only thing that I've seen pop up are Tyrouge's.

I mean do you have to be in the water or something in order to get slowpoke?

Well, I notice Slowpoke isn't in the Sinnohdex. Do you have the National Dex?

Checking Slowpoke's Pokedex area thing shows it at route 205 and no-where else.

Edit: Route 205 using the Poké Radar is how you get Slowpokes. Just found one.

I have a question concerning the Power Ankle/Band/Belt/Bracer. They are the items that boost your EVs and you get them in the Battle Tower. I just want to know this; do they add the four points into your EVs along with the EVs you get from fighting a Pokemon or do they just give you 4 EV points period.

For example, I'm fighting a Zubat to get speed EVs and I have the Power Ankle attached. After I win the fight, would my Pokemon gain 4 EVs into speed or 5 EVs into speed?

You would get 5.

It's the EV the Pokemon normally gives out, plus 4 more for whatever stat the Item gives.

Pokerus doubles this, so Zubat would give 2 evs, and then 8 evs from the power item.

Wouldn't you get only 6? Zubat gives you two EVs, double that is 4, so you'd six.

Basically, wouldn't it look like this:

(1*2)+4=6

Edit: Or does Pokerus double the 8 EVs you get from the Power Items too, and make it

(1*2) + (4*2)=10?

Pokerus doubles everything. The inital EVs, and the Evs given by either the Macho Brace or the power items.

EDIT:

Basically if you battle a Pokemon that gives out the same EVs as the power item you are holding, you would get 10 Evs for a Pokemon that gives out 1 Ev. 12 Evs for one that gives out 2 Evs, and then 14 for one that gives out 3 Evs.

i.e. Beating Staraptor w/ Pokerus + Power Bracer (Atk) = (3 + 4)*2 = 14

Frickin' amazing. Even if you aren't EV training in the same stat the items give you, it's basically +1 to the stat the item corresponds to.

i.e. Beating a Roserade with Pokerus, holding Power Bracer:

6 EVs to SAtk and 8 EVs to Atk.

:o I need to get Pokerus now.

So if I understand the power bracer correctly:

1 gastly = 1 + 4 = 5 sp.atk EVs
1 bibarel = 2 + 4 = 6 attack EVs
1 gardevoir = 3 + 4 = 7 sp.atk EVs

double that it shall be 10,12,14 respectively.

So the power bracer essential adds 4 to the base EV then.

A question that came up a lot is that of Pokemon with new abilities being transferred over from Adv. If I send over a Shroomish, would it be possible for it to get Poison Heal when it evolves, or would I be stuck with Effect Spore?

So the anklet works on a different stat than the bracer? Or do all of them boost the same EV of whatever critter your fighting (zubat speed, etc.)?

It seems to be case that some transferred Pokemon randomly switch traits upon evolving in DP. Whether or not this can be affected by save+restarting is unknown.

Precisely. But I believe the Power Bracer works specifically for attack; there are other items for the other stats.

I'm not entirely sure this is a "simple" question, but nonetheless...

I've been soft-resetting to pick up a Bold female Eevee egg and hatch it. Using the step counter, I found that for most of last evening, I was able to hatch it in 4370 steps with a Slugma in my party. By night time, however, it took 4845 steps.

I assumed that it possibly had something to do with the time of day--that perhaps the programmers' intent was to have Pokemon hatch faster when it's "warmer" outside. However, it's daytime now and it still takes 4845 steps. So unless there's something specific about that time period between afternoon and night, what could account for the difference?

Well, the text for Flame Body and Magma Armor's second effect in the Guide Book says "Increases chances of egg hatching faster". Maybe that's exactly what it does now, and doesn't cut the time in half or to 2/3 like it did in Emerald.

Does Skorupi have to be one of the daily Pokemon for you to actually see it?

What should I evolve my shiny Careful Eevee to? EV check is only at level 14, but

  • HP IV: 22 [19 ~ 26] 12%
  • Attack IV: 15 [12 ~ 19] 11%
  • Defense IV: 25 [22 ~ 29] 12%
  • Sp.Atk IV: 6 [3 ~ 10] 9%
  • Sp.Def IV: 9 [6 ~ 13] 10%
  • Speed IV: 2 [0 ~ 5] 8%

There's been consistency, though. ~9 eggs hatched consecutively at 4370 steps. (Which is less than half of Eevee's 8960.) Now, ~10 eggs have hatched consecutively at 4845. (Which is more than half.)

I'm sure something's going on. I just don't know what, exactly.

i have questions about the choice items. i'm new to competitive play and i need some stuff ironed out about them. i know that a choice band/specks/scarf will multiply your atk/sp.atk/spd by 1.5 if you use a physical/special/any move, but you have to keep on using that move unless you switch out. my question is if you can use other moves besides damaging moves before you use the choice item. for example:

Roserade @choice specks
timid
sunny day
energy ball
sludge bomb/shadow ball/extrasensory/sleep powder
weather ball

could i sunny day and still be able to choose my move without it screwing me over? i would like it if someone completely explained all about the choice items to me.

What part of Mt.Coronet do you need to go to to catch Dratini?

Where on route 210 do you get Roost?

Would Relaxed be a good nature for a defensive Rhyperior and does it need to have Rock Head to get Hard Rock?

Would Relaxed also be a good nature for Uxie?

Regarding Choice Band/Specs/Scarf you get the boost as long as you have them on and the first move you use is the move you are locked into so using Sunny Day would keep you locked in Sunny Day

I think there may be a range of steps now. When I was hatching Abras, it should have only taken me 2560 steps (thanks to Magcargo). However, the first one I counted the steps for took 3018 steps to hatch, while the second took 3062.
