Suicune:

HP = 8-10
Att = 0-1
Def = 0-1
Speed = 0-1
SPA = 0-1
SDEF = 0-1

Raikou

HP = 8-10
Att = 0-1
Def = 0-1
SPA = 0-1
SDEF = 0-1
Speed = 0-1

Lol, that's rather unfortunate.

That's typical if you got them from fire red/leaf green. All legendary dogs from FR/LG have 0 ivs in 4 stats. Looking at your guys, it's probably actually 5.

Hehe, yeah, some legendaries are twats. I got quite lucky yesterday when I caught a Sassy Heal Bell Articuno with 31HP, 31Def and 31SpDef. The other IV's are pretty low but it's definately useable.

The Zapdos and Moltres IV's resembled those two dogs though, so don't feel too hard done by. ¬_¬

Getting a dog on Colloseum is pretty hard as it's impossible to obtain a Master Ball the first time you fight them. You'd have to catch them regularly and their Catch Rate is horribly bad.

How exactly does pickup ability work? Does the pokemon just have to be in your party, have to participate in the battle, or to be the one who does the "finishing blow" ?

Thanks

Does substitute block rapid spin from blowing away spikes? I can't find anything in the move descriptions or DP research threads.

No, unless your opponent is a ghost, a sub is not going to stop you from rapid spinning away spikes/stealth rock. You're just not likely to break that sub with an attack like rapid spin.

OK, everywere I look I get different answers, so I'm going to try to ask this here. I cant find it in the research threads. What increases damage more, the Plate items or items like Magnet, Charcoal, etc? Thanks

If Emerald and the Seismic Toss move tutor can't easily be found, would a Blissey with:

Softboiled
TWave
Ice Beam
Counter

Work? Ice Beam stops the Taunt set-up, Counter for those things you know are going to hit hard (CC MixApes, Outraging Garchomps, etc)

How are stat-up moves calculated by the engine?

I'm told one stage is worth 50%, but what about when 2 of them are there? Is it +125% or +100%?

Stage boosts go from 1.5x's to 2x's all the way to 4x's.

Stage decreses go from * (2/3) to *(2/4) and so on up to *(2/8).

What makes a good special wall that's NOT Blissey and is NOT a water type?

Cradily in a Sandstorm can take special hits like a champ and learns Recover. It has a decent movepool, with attacking options for special, physical, or mixed attacks. STAB on Grass and Rock is always good, and is a decent combination (not the best, but not on the level of something like Dark / Grass).

No it does not in DP, and it did not in ADV. This was a Netbattle bug.

sorry about that then.

You are correct; Max is wrong.

31 on all but Sp. Atk [30 Sp. Atk] gives you HP Electric, but I don't think you'd like to lower the SpA, even if it's just 1 point.

31/30/30/31/31/30 [speed last] is also HP Electric if I'm not mistaken.

The first spread is still generally best, but there is a good contender. These are the 2 spreads for HP Electric I would consider:

31/31/31/30/31/31
31/30/30/31/31/30

Your choice is to lose 1 Special Attack, or 1 Defense and 1 Speed, really. If you are using EVs in both Defense and Special Attack, it doesn't matter which choice you pick, as EVs can compensate for this, so I'd still go with the first set. You may the think loss of Speed makes you more effective against a Trick Room team, but if they have Trick Room, they're going to be minimizing their Speed IVs, and there is no Pokemon that lands at 96 or 95 Speed with 0 IVs in Speed, meaning it will never matter in your favor. However, if you lower Speed, you will always go after enemy Snorlax that haven't Cursed, and other Slowbro that do not lower Speed.

They all do a 20% boost. You can check in the official item analysis page, which is linked in the research thread, and in the "DP Analyses" subforum.

Are the HPs in Adv all physical damage?
My Zapdos used HP Fire in Emerald and it got Countered :(

All moves in Advance (except technically Beat Up, but that's really a typeless attack) are determined by what type they are. Hidden Power Fire is always special. However, due to an oddity of Hidden Power, Counter always works against it, and Mirror Coat always fails.
